Panthers' Chas Alecxih: Ends season on IR
Alecxih (knee) ended the 2016 season on injured reserve.
Alecxih had surgery to repair significant damage to his left knee in August, Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer reports. Alecxih has been in training camp with several teams over the course of the past five years but has never managed to make a regular-season roster. He'll be hoping to finally catch on with the Panthers as a depth lineman and special teams player in 2017.

Panthers' Chas Alecxih: Suffers knee injury
Alecxih has suffered an unspecified knee injury, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports.
The severity of the injury is undisclosed, but head coach Ron Rivera noted that "it does not look good". Alecxih was reportedly having a strong camp prior to going down, but would have needed an excellent preseason showing to make the Panthers' final roster behind a stacked defensive line sporting the likes of DTs Star Lotulelei, Kawann Short, Paul Soliai and Vernon Butler.
