Steelers vs. Buccaneers live updates: Rookie Jalon Daniels gets another start for Tampa Bay

Steelers kick off, the Buccaneers start with the ball. 

The Buccaneers chose to use their home whites, but it's not surely for look. By wearing white, Tampa has forced the Steelers to wear their home black uniforms in today's heat. 

Thankfully for Steelers, it's not as hot as it could be. It'll be 80 at kickoff and isn't expected to get much hotter throughout the game. 

Several Steelers have made time to meet up with Bucs special teams coach Danny Smith, who served that role in Pittsburgh from 2013-25. Smith was extremely popular in Pittsburgh. 

The Steelers miss him this season as Pittsburgh's special teams has taken a step back. Chris Boswell in particular hasn't been as sharp as in years past. He's already missed three field goals after missing five all of last season. 

The Steelers are also reuniting with Kenneth Gainwell, who was named the team's MVP last season. Gainwell signed with Tampa Bay after the Steelers did not offer him a new contract. 

The Buccaneers will continue to be without Antoine Winfield Jr., a physical and talented safety. Winfield sustained the injury in Week 4 and was slated to miss 2-4 weeks. 

Tampa's defense allowed Dak Prescott to throw for 316 yards in Week 5, but it also forced three interceptoins and held Dallas to 50 rushing yards.

Good early news for Pittsburgh. DK Metcalf and Pat Freiermuth will play after both were questionable on the last injury report. Pittsburgh will still be without wideouts Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek. Wilson was placed on IR over the weekend.
