  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Strikes for 24 points in SL loss

Lanier logged 24 points (8-13 FG, 8-12 3Pt), two assists and one steal across 33 minutes in Monday's 86-75 Summer League loss to the Knicks. Although he didn't offer much outside of the scoring department, Lanier torched the nets and knocked down a game-high eight triples while leading all players in scoring. The 24-year-old has reached the 20-point threshold in back-to-back games, and over three appearances in Las Vegas this summer, he's averaging 20.3 points, 2.0 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting 53.3 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Logs 25 points in Summer League

Lanier finished Sunday's 103-94 Summer League win over the Cavaliers with 25 points (9-17 FG, 7-12 3Pt), three assists, three rebounds and one steal over 30 minutes. Lanier set the tone early for the Pistons, scoring 17 of his team-high 25 points in the first quarter, 15 of which came on five three-pointers. The 2025 second-rounder saw limited action in his rookie year with the Pistons and will likely spend most of the 2026-27 campaign in the G League.

  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Scores 12 points in loss

Lanier finished with 12 points (4-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one block in 32 minutes of Thursday's 101-93 Summer League loss to the 76ers. Lanier is coming off a rookie season in which he averaged 7.7 minutes across 34 regular-season appearances. He's likely going to open the 2026-27 campaign by getting some reps in the G League.

  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Scoreless in five minutes

Lanier accumulated zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one assist in five minutes during Sunday's 125-94 loss to Cleveland in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The rookie second-round pick played a very minimal role for Detroit this season. Across 34 regular-season appearances, he saw just 7.7 minutes per contest with 2.4 points and 0.7 rebounds. He'll likely see some action during the Summer League.

  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Barely visible in win

Lanier posted two points (1-1 FG) over six minutes during Sunday's 133-121 win over the Pacers. Lanier once again played a limited role, having exceeded 16 minutes on only four occasions this season. Given he has seen the floor only 34 times thus far, it's safe to assume that he won't be a key piece for the Pistons heading into the playoffs.

  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Returning to parent team

Detroit recalled Lanier from the G League's Motor City Cruise on Saturday. Lanier suited up for Motor City in Friday's 123-116 loss to the Osceola Magic in the Eastern Conference Semifinals of the G League playoffs, finishing with 27 points (8-13 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds and four assists in 38 minutes. With the Cruise's campaign coming to an end with the loss, Lanier will rejoin the Pistons for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs. Though Lanier has been formally recalled, it's unclear if he'll arrive in Philadelphia in time for the Pistons' game Saturday versus the 76ers. Detroit is officially listing him as questionable for the contest.

  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Returns from G League

The Pistons recalled Lanier from the G League's Motor City Cruise ahead of Thursday's game against the Pelicans. Detroit is listing Cade Cunningham (lung) and Caris LeVert (knee) out for Thursday's contest, but Lanier may need Tobias Harris (hip) -- who is listed as questionable -- to sit out against the Pelicans in order to crack the rotation. The rookie second-round pick is averaging just 7.9 minutes in 26 games at the NBA level this season, with many of those appearances coming in garbage-time situations.

  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Recalled to NBA

Detroit recalled Lanier from the G League's Motor City Cruise on Monday. Lanier recorded 23 minutes in Sunday's 120-109 G League loss to the Memphis Hustle before being recalled, putting up seven points (3-10 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), a rebound and an assist. He will likely continue to split time between the two clubs but is not expected to play much with the Pistons.

  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Recalled to NBA

Detroit recalled Lanier from the G League's Motor City Cruise on Friday. Lanier hasn't been a regular participant for the NBA team this season, but he has been quite productive lately with the Cruise, tallying more than 17 points in five of his last six G League matchups. Lanier could continue to see minutes off the bench for the Pistons while getting most of his playing time in the lower-level league for the rest of the season.

  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Recalled to NBA

Detroit recalled Lanier from the Motor City Cruise of the G League on Sunday. Lanier has spent time with both the Pistons and its G League affiliate. He has filled in as an injury replacement in the rotation while players like Ausar Thompson and Tobias Harris were sidelined dealing with respective injuries. Since Detroit looks to be healthy right now, Lanier will likely not see significant minutes on the court, if any at all.

Detroit recalled Lanier from the G League's Motor City Cruise on Friday. Lanier has continued to play for both the NBA and G League squads since December, although he's usually a second-unit option for the Pistons. • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Heading back to NBA

Detroit recalled Lanier from the G League's Motor City Cruise on Saturday. Lanier has returned to the Pistons following another period on assignment with the G League affiliate, for which he scored 25 points and three rebounds during a 44-minute appearance Saturday. Lanier has played a minor role at the NBA level, especially over the last couple of months, logging just nine minutes of play since Nov. 18.

  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Recalled from G League

Lanier was recalled from the G League's Motor City Cruise on Saturday. • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Plays 18 minutes in loss

Lanier chipped in three points (1-3 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 18 minutes during Monday's 127-112 victory over Indiana. Lanier has played at least 18 minutes in his last four straight games, averaging 5.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.5 threes in that span. While this is all likely due to the respective absences of Cade Cunningham (hip), Tobias Harris (ankle) and Ausar Thompson (ankle), Lanier will continue to see extended run until one of the aforementioned players return.

  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Sinks trio of triples

Lanier posted nine points (3-8 FG, 3-7 3Pt), four assists, one steal and one block in 23 minutes during Thursday's 119-98 preseason win over the Wizards. Lanier made multiple three-pointers in three of his four preseason appearances, going 8-for-22 overall. The rookie will likely have a limited role in 2025-26, but Jaden Ivey's knee surgery opens up plenty of minutes to begin the campaign.

  • Pistons' Chaz Lanier: Joins Detroit

Lanier was selected by the Pistons with the No. 37 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Lanier made an immediate impact at Tennessee after transferring from North Florida, where he spent his first four collegiate seasons. In his lone year with the Volunteers, he averaged 18.0 points and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from three over 38 games. While he's limited as a defender and playmaker, few prospects in this class can match his tough shotmaking ability. His role in Detroit will likely depend on whether the Pistons choose to re-sign veteran guards Malik Beasley, Dennis Schroder and Tim Hardaway.
