  • Drew Peterson: Let go by Charlotte

The Hornets waived Peterson on Tuesday. Peterson had been occupying one of the Hornets' three two-way slots and had split time between the NBA and the G League this season. Over six appearances for Charlotte, Peterson averaged 0.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.5 steals in 10.7 minutes per contest. The Hornets would retain Peterson's G League rights if he ends up clearing waivers.

  • Hornets' Drew Peterson: Transferred to G League

Charlotte transferred Peterson to the G League's Greensboro Swarm on Monday. With some injuries in Charlotte, Peterson has been able to log some minutes at the NBA level. Through four appearances, he has averaged 13.3 minutes per game with 1.3 points and 1.8 rebounds. He shot 14.3 percent from the field in those games, however.

  • Hornets' Drew Peterson: Joins parent club

The Hornets transferred Peterson to the NBA roster from the G League's Greensboro Swarm on Sunday. Peterson will rejoin the parent club ahead of Monday's game against the Raptors. The two-way player has appeared in two outings with Greensboro this season, averaging 18.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.2 minutes per contest.

  • Hornets' Drew Peterson: Gets two-way deal

Peterson agreed to a two-way contract with the Hornets on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Peterson will join the Hornets after spending most of the past two seasons as a two-way player for Boston. The 25-year-old forward appeared in 25 games for the Celtics in 2024-25, averaging 2.2 points and 1.6 rebounds across 7.4 minutes per contest. Peterson is likely to see the bulk of his playing time in the G League in 2025-26, though he should have a clearer path to seeing minutes at the NBA level with the Hornets than he did in Boston.

  • Celtics' Drew Peterson: Making first career start

Peterson is in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the 76ers, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. The Celtics will rest most of their regulars Thursday, except Jayson Tatum and Derrick White, meaning Peterson will get a spot start here in what'll be the first start of his NBA career. He isn't expected to see a significant role despite the starting role, so his fantasy prospects shouldn't improve dramatically.

  • Celtics' Drew Peterson: Out again Sunday

Peterson (concussion) won't play Sunday versus the Pelicans. Peterson will miss a second straight contest for Boston. He's appeared in 11 total games for the Celtics this season, and his absence won't have many fantasy implications.

  • Celtics' Drew Peterson: Ruled out Friday

Peterson is in concussion protocol and has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Kings. The 25-year-old presumably sustained the concussion during his most recent appearance in the G League on Tuesday, when he tallied 23 points over 42 minutes in the Maine Celtics' 118-115 loss to the Indiana Mad Ants. The two-way player has seen action in 11 games at the NBA level this season, averaging 3.2 points and 2.1 rebounds in 9.9 minutes per contest.

  • Heat's Drew Peterson: Out Friday

Peterson won't play in Friday's Summer League game against the Nuggets due to an undisclosed reason, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. It doesn't appear that Peterson has picked up an injury, but he will not be suiting up Friday. Peterson had been starting for Miami's Summer League squad and connected on two triples in his last outing.
