  • Pelicans' Markquis Nowell: Dishes out six assists in SL loss

Nowell notched 14 points (4-12 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six assists, two steals and one rebound across 31 minutes in Saturday's 91-73 Summer League loss to the Pacers. Nowell wasn't very efficient but still finished as the Pelicans' second-leading scorer. Additionally, the 26-year-old point guard dished out a team-high six assists. He reached the 20-point mark in two of his five Las Vegas Summer League appearances, reaching double figures in three of those outings.

  • Pelicans' Markquis Nowell: Team-high 20 points in SL loss

Nowell recorded 20 points (3-13 FG, 2-11 3Pt, 6-7 FT), two rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block over 24 minutes during Wednesday's Summer League loss to the Cavaliers. Nowell was inefficient from the field in Wednesday's loss, but he made up for it at the charity stripe to lead the Pelicans in scoring. The Kansas State product last saw NBA regular-season action in 2023-24 with the Raptors, playing in just one game. He's spent the last couple of seasons in the G League but is using the Summer League to showcase his talents in the hopes of catching on with an NBA team for training camp.

  • Pelicans' Markquis Nowell: Scores 20 points in Summer League

Nowell produced 20 points (7-14 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six assists, four rebounds and five steals in 31 minutes of Thursday's 105-92 Summer League loss to the Timberwolves. Nowell, who has had some excellent moments in the G League, has just one career NBA appearance. He made a strong impression Thursday and could be in the mix for a training camp invitation.

  • Rockets' Markquis Nowell: Signs deal with Houston

Nowell and the Rockets agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal Tuesday, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports. Nowell was with the Raptors on a two-way deal in 2023-24, but he made only one NBA appearance. In Houston, he'll be considered a long shot to make the final roster.

  • Markquis Nowell: Waived by Raptors

The Raptors waived Nowell on Monday, Aaron Rose of SI.com reports. The Raptors needed to part ways with Nowell to make room for Mouhamadou Gueye. Nowell made just a single appearance for the Raptors this season and played four minutes.

  • Raptors' Markquis Nowell: Out indefinitely with hammy strain

Nowell sustained a left hamstring strain Saturday in the G League Raptors 905's 97-91 win over the Delaware Blue Coats and is considered out indefinitely, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. The Raptors' G League affiliate hasn't provided a precise timeline for Nowell's return, though Murphy notes that the rookie point guard's injury is viewed as more than a day-to-day concern. As a result, Nowell's potential availability for the G League Next Up Game on Feb. 18 during NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis could be affected. One of Toronto's three two-way players, Nowell has made just one four-minute appearance at the NBA level but has been a key performer for the 905 throughout the campaign. Over his 20 total appearances in the G League in 2023-24, Nowell is averaging 15.3 points (on 42.4 percent shooting from the field), 8.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 2.6 three-pointers and 2.0 steals in 33.1 minutes.

  • Raptors' Markquis Nowell: Won't play Thursday

Nowell is out for Thursday's Las Vegas Summer League game against the Nets due to an undisclosed reason, Vivek Jacob of the Raptors' official site reports. It is unclear if Nowell suffered an injury, but he will not play Thursday. With Toronto's Summer League squad holding an 0-3 record, they are unlikely to make the Summer League Playoffs. This means that Nowell will have to wait until the regular season to see game action, where he will split time between the NBA and G League as a two-way player.
