  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Sees garbage-time run in rout

Edwards totaled eight points (3-9 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and one assist in 16 minutes during Sunday's 144-114 loss to the Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. With Sunday's game getting out of hand early, Edwards helped soak up some garbage-time minutes. The forward is under contract for 2026-27 and figures to handle a similar reserve role next year. He finished the regular season with averages of 6.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.0 three-pointers in 15.3 minutes per tilt over 64 games.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Out of rotation in playoff opener

Edwards (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Wednesday in the 76ers' 109-97 win over the Magic in the Play-In Tournament. Edwards had appeared in the 76ers' final five games of the regular season and averaged 5.0 points in 13.2 minutes, but he ended up being a casualty of head coach Nick Nurse tightening up his rotation for the start of the playoffs. Unless Philadelphia loses a key player to an injury during its first-round series with the Celtics, Edwards' appearances may be largely limited to garbage-time scenarios.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Goes scoreless in loss

Edwards had zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one steal in 10 minutes during Saturday's 116-93 loss to Detroit. Although Edwards was back in the rotation, he failed to score for the second time in his past two appearances. After a brief run of relevance, Edwards has shifted back to a depth role, with Philadelphia now largely healthy. Assuming the key players can stay on the floor, Edwards is unlikely to play a major role down the stretch.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Drops out of rotation

Edwards (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Friday in the 76ers' 115-103 win over the Timberwolves. After making seven straight starts and averaging 27.6 minutes per appearance from March 12 through March 23, Edwards had seen his playing time drop precipitously ever since. With the 76ers getting the likes of Paul George, Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and Kelly Oubre back from extended absences at the end of last month, Edwards had averaged just 8.0 minutes over his four appearances since moving back to the bench before he dropped out of the rotation entirely Friday. Edwards could reclaim a role Saturday against the Pistons if George rests for the second leg of the 76ers' back-to-back set, but Edwards is likely to remain out of the rotation more often than not when Philadelphia is at full strength.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Barely plays Monday

Edwards accumulated no statistics while playing the final 36.1 seconds of the first quarter in Monday's 119-109 loss to the Heat. Edwards' spot in the rotation basically disappeared, continuing a downward trend in his minutes over the past three games since he was moved to the bench last Wednesday. Prior to that, Edwards had started in seven consecutive games and averaged 15.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.1 three-pointers and 2.0 steals in 27.6 minutes per contest. His diminishing role has coincided with the 76ers getting all of Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, Kelly Oubre and Joel Embiid back from long-term absences within the past three games.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Strong two-way performance Saturday

Edwards logged 19 points (9-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks over 31 minutes during the 76ers' 104-97 win over the Nets on Saturday. Edwards was particularly effective in the third quarter with nine of his 19 points coming out of halftime, and he finished Saturday's game as the Sixers' second-leading scorer behind Quentin Grimes (28 points). Edwards also showed his defensive chops with a game-high three steals, and he has logged at least two steals in four of his last five outings. He has started each of the 76ers' last two games and will likely continue to operate in an elevated role for as long as Kelly Oubre (elbow), Tyrese Maxey (finger) and Paul George (suspension) are sidelined.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Near double-double vs. Detroit

Edwards logged 12 points (5-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and four steals over 29 minutes during the 76ers' 131-109 loss to the Pistons on Thursday. The 76ers are dealing with injuries to multiple starters including Kelly Oubre (elbow) and Tyrese Maxey (finger), which led to Edwards making his sixth start of the season Thursday. Edwards took advantage of the opportunity by setting a season high in steals and came one rebound shy from recording his first double-double of the 2025-26 campaign. Oubre is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks, so Edwards could remain a starter for as long as the former is sidelined.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Returns from G League

Philadelphia recalled Edwards from the G League's Delaware Blue Coats on Saturday. Edwards is back with the parent club ahead of Sunday's game in Boston after he made his fifth G League appearance of the season in the Blue Coats' 143-123 win over the Grand Rapids Gold on Saturday, when he finished with 32 points (13-23 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 1-4 FT), five rebounds, five steals, two assists and one block in 38 minutes. Despite the strong showing in the G League, Edwards isn't guaranteed to be part of the Philadelphia rotation Sunday.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Assigned to G League

The 76ers assigned Edwards to the G League's Delaware Blue Coats on Friday, Derek Bodner of AllPHLY.com reports. Edwards has totaled just 16 minutes over his last three games with Philadelphia, and it looks like the recent signing of Cameron Payne has left him as the odd man out in the rotation. Edwards is likely to occupy a featured role with the Blue Coats for the time being, though.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Compiles 12 points from bench

Edwards amassed 12 points (3-5 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists and three steals in 24 minutes during Monday's 135-118 loss to Portland. After limited work as an injury replacement last season, Edwards has popped for a few productive games with the parent club during his second year with the Sixers. He's bounced back and forth between the NBA and the G League this season, but he figures to stick with the parent club until the team gets Paul George (suspension) back.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Recalled by 76ers

Edwards was recalled from the G League's Delaware Blue Coats on Friday. The 76ers assigned Edwards to Delaware on Friday but quickly recalled him to the NBA roster. • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Strong line off bench

Edwards supplied 12 points (4-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist and one block in 20 minutes during Sunday's 129-104 loss to the Thunder. Joel Embiid's (ankle) absence opened up some breathing room in the rotation, and Edwards made the most of his opportunity this time. The forward has had a tough season overall, posting averages of 5.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.1 three-pointers on 37.0 percent shooting from the field in 16.4 minutes across 27 appearances.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Back with parent club

Philadelphia recalled Edwards from the G League's Delaware Blue Coats on Tuesday, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports. Edwards was assigned to the Blue Coats on Monday and played in their 120-110 G League win over the Capital City Go-Go on Tuesday, when he tallied a game-high 37 points (13-21 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT) along with four rebounds, one assist and six steals over 40 minutes. He's seen his playing time at the NBA level diminish as of late even in the absence of Kelly Oubre (knee), who has been sidelined since mid-November.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Returns Tuesday

Edwards returned to Tuesday's game against the Magic with 3:41 remaining in the third quarter, per the broadcast. Edwards sustained an apparent foot injury earlier in the quarter, though he returned to the court shortly thereafter. He'll likely be good to go for the remainder of the game after checking back in.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Pops for 22 points off bench

Edwards amassed 22 points (8-9 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one steal over 27 minutes during Tuesday's 102-100 win over the Celtics. Edwards turned in his best scoring performance of the 2025-26 campaign, as he nearly turned in a perfect shooting line. This marks the 21-year-old's first time finishing in double figures through eight appearances this season, ending a recent skid in which he'd been held to three or fewer points in four of his previous five games. Edwards has struggled to see consistent minutes off the bench, so his larger workload Tuesday could be a sign that he's close to carving out a more significant role.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Bench role Friday

Edwards will come off the bench during Friday's game against the Celtics, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports. After starting Tuesday's game against the Wizards, Edwards is back in the second unit, with Jabari Walker getting the nod in the first five. Edwards is averaging 7.0 points and 1.0 rebounds per game, shooting 50 percent from the floor and 50 percent from beyond the arc.

Edwards (ribs) has been cleared to play in Saturday's game against the Hornets, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Expected to play Thursday

Edwards (rest) is expected to be available for Thursday's preseason game against the Knicks, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports. Edwards took a seat for the final Summer League games due to rest purposes, but he'll be back in action during the preseason opener. He's competing for a depth role at both forward spots after emerging as a solid rotation player for the injury-depleted 76ers last season.

  • 76ers' Justin Edwards: Resting vs. Dallas

Edwards (rest) won't play in Wednesday's Summer League game against the Mavericks, Tony Jones of The Athletic reports. After logging 30 minutes in Tuesday's 91-90 victory over the Grizzlies, Edwards will get the night off Wednesday for the second half of Philadelphia's back-to-back set. With VJ Edgecombe also grabbing a seat against Dallas, Judah Mintz could be tasked with the heavy lifting on offense for the 76ers.
