Rangers' Jacob deGrom: Cleared to start Monday
Manager Bruce Bochy announced Sunday that deGrom (shoulder) will start Monday's game against the Angels, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The veteran right-hander threw a bullpen session Saturday with no issues, clearing the way for him to take the mound after having his previous start skipped as a precautionary measure due to shoulder fatigue. DeGrom's 24 starts and 140 innings this season are already his highest totals since 2019, and he's looked fully like his usual dominant self with a 2.76 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 148:30 K:BB.

Rangers' Jacob deGrom: Completes bullpen session
DeGrom (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Saturday and is expected to make his next start, MLB.com reports.
DeGrom's previously scheduled start was skipped due to discomfort, which the team attributed more to workload than injury. His 140.1 innings pitched in 2025 is the most since 2019. DeGrom is tentatively expected to start Monday at home against the Angels.

Rangers' Jake Burger: Begins swinging bat
Burger (wrist) has begun swinging a bat, MLB.com reports.
This is the start of Burger's progression toward hitting baseballs at some point. This suggests the sprain is on the milder side, and he could rejoin the Rangers around the time he reaches the 10-day minimum stay on the injured list. While Burger has been unavailable, Texas manager Bruce Bochy is using Rowdy Tellez at first base against righties and Ezequiel Duran against lefties.

Rangers' Jack Leiter: Career-high 10 Ks vs. Cleveland
Leiter (8-7) earned the win against the Guardians on Saturday, allowing two hits while striking out 10 across seven scoreless innings. He did not issue a walk.
Leiter entered Saturday's game having issued at least two walks in eight straight starts while failing to reach the fifth inning in two of his last three outings. However, the 25-year-old right-hander was in total control against Cleveland, yielding just two singles while recording a career-high 10 strikeouts. It was the first time he took a scoreless outing past the sixth frame, and the Rangers' bullpen kept the Guardians off the board over the last two innings to complete the shutout. Saturday's efforts lowered Leiter's ERA and WHIP to 3.81 and 1.31, respectively, across 115.2 innings, and his 111 strikeouts is third most on the Rangers behind Jacob deGrom (148) and Nathan Eovaldi (129). Leiter is slated to make his next start on the road against the Athletics next weekend.

Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Smacks two-run homer in return
Garcia went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer during the Rangers' 10-0 win over the Guardians on Saturday.
Garcia was activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Saturday's game after fully recovering from a sprained left ankle, and he gave the Rangers some insurance in the fifth inning with a two-run blast to left field. It was Garcia's 17th home run of the season, which is second most on the Rangers behind Wyatt Langford and Corey Seager (19 each). Garcia is slashing .224/.266/.394 with 10 steals, 47 runs and 66 RBI across 477 plate appearances this season.

Rangers' Cody Freeman: Clubs first major-league homer
Freeman started at second base and went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored during Saturday's 10-0 win over the Guardians.
Freeman started the Rangers' blowout in style in the second inning, when he took Logan Allen deep to left field for his first major-league home run. Freeman has started in five of the Rangers' past seven games, including three games at third base and one each at second and in right field. His utility should afford him to see plenty of playing time, particularly after the Rangers placed second baseman Marcus Semien (foot) on the 10-day injured list Saturday.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Crosses home plate thrice
Jung went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and two additional runs scored during Texas' 10-0 win over Cleveland on Saturday.
Jung was one of three Rangers batters to go long Saturday, with his two-run shot in the third extending Texas' lead to 5-0. Jung's recent struggles at the plate has led to reduced playing time as of late, but Saturday's outing could be the kind of performance he needs to break out of his slump.

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Drives in three runs
Duran went 1-for-5 with a two-run double and an additional RBI during the Rangers' 10-0 win over the Guardians on Saturday.
Duran played a big factor in Saturday's blowout win, bringing home two on a double in the fourth inning before capping the Rangers' scoring with an RBI groundout in the sixth. Duran has logged at least one hit in each of his last four games, and since Aug. 1 he has gone 16-for-41 (.390) with two steals, four doubles and six RBI.

Rangers' Chris Martin: Another setback
Martin (calf) left Saturday's live batting practice session early and will not be reinstated from the injured list anytime soon, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Martin seemingly sustained a setback Saturday in his recovery from a left calf strain. The reliever has been on the shelf since July 26 and was initially given a 4-to-6-week timeline for return. However, the 39-year-old will likely need more than six weeks and shouldn't be expected back until mid-September, at the earliest.

Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Officially activated Saturday
The Rangers activated Garcia (ankle) off the 10-day injured list Saturday.
Garcia is set to return to action after missing 10 days due to a sprained left ankle. The slugger is back in the starting lineup upon his activation, as he's playing right field and batting sixth against Cleveland on Saturday. Garcia will take the 26-man roster spot made available when Marcus Semien (foot) was placed on the 10-day IL in a corresponding move.

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Placed on injured list
Texas placed Semien (foot) on the 10-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to Aug. 22.
Semien has been out of the lineup since Thursday, when he fouled a ball off his left foot during a game against the Royals. Though the veteran infielder is slated to meet with a foot doctor Sunday, the Rangers decided not to wait until the results of that meeting to place him on the IL. The transaction made room on the 26-man roster for the Rangers to activate Adolis Garcia (ankle) off the IL. Semien's starting role at second base could be assumed by a combination of Ezequiel Duran, Josh Smith and/or Cody Freeman, the latter of which is starting at the position Saturday versus Cleveland.

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Meeting with specialist Sunday
Semien (foot) is slated to meet with a foot doctor Sunday and will not play Saturday, Matthew Postins of SI.com reports.
Semien hasn't played since being removed from Thursday's contest against Kansas City a few innings after fouling a ball off his foot. The veteran infielder has so far had an X-Ray, CAT scan and MRI, with results of the latter coming back inconclusive. Semien's medical evaluation should provide more clarity about the specifics of his injury and a return timeline. It's unlikely that he'll play in any capacity this weekend.

Rangers' Rowdy Tellez: Goes deep in win
Tellez started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-3 win over Cleveland.
Tellez swatted his third home run in 24 games since being promoted to the majors July 18. He appears to be in line for regular plate appearances in the short term, as Friday's start at first base was his fourth in the five games since the Rangers placed Jake Burger (wrist) on the 10-day injured list. All of his starts have come against right-handers.

Rangers' Joc Pederson: Walks off Cleveland
Pederson went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Friday's 4-3 win over the Guardians.
Pederson laced a first-pitch double to drive in the game-winning run in the ninth inning for the walk-off win. His hit followed a game-tying single by Corey Seager on the first pitch he saw, as it appears the Rangers had a plan to jump early on Cleveland closer Cade Smith. Pederson has hit safely in four consecutive games, going 5-for-15 with a double, a home run and three RBI.

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Imaging inconclusive
Semien (foot) underwent an MRI on Friday that came back inconclusive, MLB.com reports.
Semien fouled a ball off his foot during the series finale against the Royals on Thursday and was held out of Friday's lineup. He remained in a walking boot and could miss the entire weekend set against the Guardians. Ezequiel Duran started at second base in Semien's place.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Continues hot stretch vs. Cleveland
Langford went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Friday's 4-3 win over the Guardians.
The second-year outfielder launched a 398-foot solo homer off Slade Cecconi in the sixth inning, his 19th long ball of the season and third in the last six games. Langford later doubled in the ninth and came around as the tying run in the Rangers' comeback effort. Over that six-game stretch, Langford has gone 8-for-21 (.381) with nine runs scored and four multi-hit performances.

Rangers' Nathan Eovaldi: Fans nine during quality start
Eovaldi didn't factor into the decision against the Guardians on Friday, allowing one run on four hits while striking out nine over seven innings.
The right-hander's lone blemish came on a second-inning RBI double by C.J. Kayfus, but he was otherwise dominant, tying his season high with nine punchouts. Eovaldi has now gone at least seven innings in five of his last seven outings, posting a 1.93 ERA and a stellar 43:8 K:BB across 46.2 innings during that stretch. The 35-year-old will carry this strong form into his next scheduled start against the Angels.
