Rockies' Ethan Holliday: Undergoing season-ending surgery
Holliday will undergo surgery for a stress fracture in his left foot and miss the rest of the 2026 season, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Holliday underwent several examinations after being removed from Single-A Fresno's lineup last week due to a left foot injury. The injury is severe enough to require surgery and will sideline the 19-year-old prospect for the rest of the 2026 season. He'll end the season slashing .262/.395/.557 with one steal, two triples, nine home runs and 32 RBI across 152 plate appearances.

Rockies' Ethan Holliday: Goes on 7-day IL at Single-A
Single-A Fresno placed Holliday (foot) on its 7-day injured list Sunday.
Holliday hasn't played in nearly a week due to a left foot injury, and the decision was finally made to put him on the IL. The Rockies haven't provided word on a specific diagnosis for Holliday, making it uncertain how much time the top prospect will miss. Holliday has impressed so far in his first full professional season, slashing .262/.395/.557 with nine home runs in 33 games with Fresno, though he's struck out at a 28.3 percent clip.

Son of Matt, brother of Jackson and the No. 4 overall pick in 2025, Holliday has impressed so far in his first full professional season, posting a .952 OPS with nine homers and one steal across 152 plate appearances. His campaign is on hold for now, however, as the Rockies evaluate the foot injury. Holliday has not yet been placed on the injured list at Fresno.
