Wilson started at third base and went 0-for-2 in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jays.
Jose Ramirez was shelved after spraining his right ankle during Friday's game, which opened up the hot corner for Wilson. The Guardians have multiple options currently on the roster to fill in at third, but Ramirez's injury is not considered serious. Wilson received an invitation Friday to the Giants' major-league spring training.
The 22-year-old had a .767 OPS in rookie ball during 2019 and spent the 2020 campaign at San Francisco's alternate training site after being acquired from the Angels. Wilson will get the chance to showcase himself in big-league camp, though he's likely to begin the season in the lower minors.
Wilson will be a part of the Giants' 60-man roster, Jim Callis of MLB.com reports.
Wilson was traded to the Giants in December after being drafted by the Angels with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2019 first-year player draft, and he'll get the chance to develop as part of the 60-man player pool. The 21-year-old went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts during spring training this year before play was suspended.
