Rangers' Josh Jung: Goes yard Monday
Jung went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Astros.
This was Jung's first homer over 13 games in September, and he's batting just .184 (9-for-49) this month. The third baseman's blast tied the game at 2-2 in the fifth inning. Jung had six multi-hit efforts over his last eight contests in August, so the slowdown in September is discouraging. He's at a .251/.294/.394 slash line with 14 homers, 57 RBI, 48 runs scored and four stolen bases over 120 games this season.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Resting up Wednesday
Jung is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Ezequiel Duran will fill in at third base while Jung receives a breather for the day game. Jung had started in each of the Rangers' last 11 contests, slashing .400/.413/.622 with two home runs, nine runs and eight RBI during that span.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Keeps raking
Jung went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an RBI double during Sunday's 9-6 win over the Athletics.
Jung has a hit in eight consecutive games and has notched multiple hits six times during that stretch. He's recorded two homers along with three doubles and is 17-for-34 (.500) across those eight games. The third baseman endured a 5-for-43 (.116) slump immediately before catching fire.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Stays hot with three more hits
Jung went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Athletics.
Jung delivered RBI doubles in the third and seventh innings. The third baseman has rattled off three straight three-hit games, and he's batting .517 (15-for-29) during his seven-game hitting streak. He's up to a .257/.302/.395 slash line, 12 home runs, 51 RBI, 42 runs scored, 15 doubles and four stolen bases over 106 contests this season, and his recent strong play should keep him locked into a starting role.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Another three-hit effort
Jung went 3-for-4 with one run scored in Friday's 5-2 win over the Athletics.
Jung has hit safely in six straight games, and four of those have been multi-hit efforts. He's starting to turn things around after struggling for most of August -- even with the recent surge, he's batting a modest .268 (19-for-71) over 22 contests this month. On the season, he's at a .253/.299/.387 slash line with 12 home runs, 49 RBI, 40 runs scored and four stolen bases through 105 games.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Extends hit streak to five
Jung went 3-for-6 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 20-3 win over the Angels.
Jung was about fifth on the list of offensive stars in the game, but the Rangers understand how important it is for the third baseman to get his groove back. A wrist injury that derailed him in 2024 has been followed by a season-long slump in 2025, when he was demoted to the minors for a stretch in July. Wednesday was his sixth straight start after getting a four-game breather last week to reset. The three-hit performance extended a hit streak to five games, during which Jung has gone 9-for-23 (.391) with a home run, a double and four RBI.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Taking back reins at 3B
Jung will start at third base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Angels.
The Rangers benched Jung for four out of five games from Aug. 17 through this past Thursday, but he appears to have taken back control of the primary starting gig at third base from Cody Freeman. Jung will pick up his fourth consecutive start Monday after he went 4-for-10 with one home run, one walk, four runs and two RBI during the Rangers' weekend sweep of the Guardians.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Crosses home plate thrice
Jung went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and two additional runs scored during Texas' 10-0 win over Cleveland on Saturday.
Jung was one of three Rangers batters to go long Saturday, with his two-run shot in the third extending Texas' lead to 5-0. Jung's recent struggles at the plate have led to reduced playing time as of late, but Saturday's outing could be the kind of performance he needs to break out of his slump.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Returns to lineup
Jung started at third base and went 0-for-2 in Wednesday's 6-3 win over Kansas City.
Jung returned to the starting lineup after getting a three-game break, but his night ended after five innings. Josh Smith entered as a pinch hitter in the sixth against right-handed reliever Taylor Clarke. It looked like a brief July stint in the minors had straightened out Jung, who went 13-for-34 (.382) with four walks, three home runs, eight RBI and eight runs scored over his first 11 games back in the majors. Since then, however, the third baseman is batting .128 with two walks and two RBI over 12 games.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Sitting against fourth straight RHP
Jung is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.
After starting at third base and going 0-for-2 in Wednesday's 6-3 win while lefty Noah Cameron was on the hill for Kansas City, the right-handed-hitting Jung will head back to the bench as the Royals send righty Michael Lorenzen to the bump for the series finale. Jung has now been held out of the lineup for four straight matchups versus righties and looks to have moved into a platoon role after slashing just .163/.217/.279 so far in August. Cody Freeman will draw the start at the hot corner Thursday, but super-utility player Josh Smith is more likely to occupy the strong side of a platoon at third base with Jung once right fielder Adolis Garcia (ankle) returns from the injured list.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Remaining on bench
Jung is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals.
It's the third straight game on the bench for Jung, who has a .179/.238/.308 slash line and 28.6 percent strikeout rate through 12 games in August. Josh Smith will instead man third base while Rowdy Tellez receives another start at first.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Out of lineup again Monday
Jung is not in the lineup for Monday's contest against the Royals.
It's the second straight day Jung has been out of the lineup, though he did appear as a pinch hitter in Sunday's win over the Blue Jays. Jung is in a 5-for-35 drought at the dish and will once again yield the hot corner to Cody Freeman.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Receiving Sunday off
Jung is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Jung will hit the bench after starting the Rangers' last nine games and going 5-for-34 (.147) with a 2:11 BB:K. The freshly recalled Cody Freeman will replace Jung at third base and bat eighth.

Rangers' Josh Jung: On bench after walk-off homer
Jung is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Yankees.
Jung returned to the lineup at designated hitter and hit a walk-off home run in the Rangers' win over the Yankees on Monday. However, he's not quite ready to play the field yet after missing four games with a calf issue, so Jung will yield DH duties Tuesday to Joc Pederson.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Blasts walk-off homer in return
Jung went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Monday's 8-5 extra-inning win over the Yankees.
After missing each of Texas' prior four games with a sore calf, Jung played the role of hero with a walk-off jack in his return Monday. It's been a disappointing campaign for Jung -- he has a .697 OPS in 2025 -- but he's begun to find a groove at the dish since the Rangers recalled him from the minor leagues. The third baseman is riding a 10-game hitting streak since returning from Triple-A Round Rock, during which he's slashing .382/.447/.647 with three homers and eight RBI covering 38 plate appearances.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Returns to lineup at DH
Jung (calf) will start at designated hitter and bat sixth in Monday's game versus the Yankees.
Jung missed each of the previous four contests with a sore calf, but he's feeling well enough to at least serve as a hitter in Monday's series opener. The 27-year-old is slashing .367/.424/.567 with two home runs in nine games since being recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on July 21.
