  • Orioles' Payton Eeles: Returns from shoulder injury

Eeles (shoulder) has gone 1-for-8 with one RBI and one run scored across three games at Triple-A Norfolk since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list Wednesday.

Eeles missed the first few weeks of the season due to a shoulder injury, which he sustained during spring training. After completing a brief rehab assignment with High-A Frederick, he's back in action for Norfolk, where he should benefit from an everyday role.

  • Orioles' Payton Eeles: Exits with shoulder issue

Eeles left Sunday's spring training game against the Tigers due to left shoulder discomfort, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Eeles suffered the injury on a collision with teammate Enrique Bradfield in the outfield. Eeles is aiming to earn a bench spot on the big-league roster, so this injury certainly won't help his cause if it forces him to miss additional time. He can be considered day-to-day moving forward.

  • Orioles' Payton Eeles: Traded to Baltimore

The Orioles acquired Eeles from the Twins on Friday in exchange for Alex Jackson, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Eeles slashed .253/.379/.321 with four homers and 21 stolen bases over 86 contests at Triple-A St. Paul in 2025. The 5-foot-5 utility player is capable of handling most positions, giving the Orioles some versatile depth.

  • Twins' Payton Eeles: Activated from Triple-A IL

Eeles (knee) was activated from the 7-day injured list at Triple-A St. Paul on Monday, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Eeles had been on a rehab assignment in the low minors following offseason knee surgery. The 25-year-old utility player is not on the Twins' 40-man roster, but he could push to debut in 2025 if he plays well at St. Paul.

  • Twins' Payton Eeles: Out after knee surgery

Eeles will begin the season on the Triple-A injured list after undergoing offseason surgery to address a cartilage issue, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Eeles signed with the Twins for $500 out of an independent league last year and then rose quickly from Low-A to Triple-A during the season. He hit .307/.435/.497 with 12 home runs and 41 stolen bases between three levels and hit .299 with a .919 OPS at Triple-A. It was the first season in the minors for the Cedarville University graduate, so he could be a late bloomer at age 25 if healthy.
