  • Rockies' Mason Adams: Shipped to Colorado

The Rockies acquired Adams and infielder Carlos Vielma from the White Sox on Monday in exchange for outfielder Brenton Doyle, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Adams was on the shelf to begin the season while completing his recovery from April 2025 Tommy John surgery, but he's maintained health since finishing up his rehab assignment at reporting to Triple-A Charlotte on June 11. Through nine appearances (seven starts) with Charlotte, Adams posted a 4.25 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 36:17 K:BB over 36 innings. The 26-year-old righty is expected to report to Triple-A Albuquerque with his new organization.

  • White Sox's Mason Adams: Returns after Tommy John surgery

Adams (elbow) has posted a 5.74 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB in 15.2 innings over four starts with Triple-A Charlotte since being assigned to the affiliate after being activated from Double-A Birmingham's 60-day injured list June 11.

Adams made a fairly swift recovery from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent April 2, 2025. He kicked off a rehab assignment just over 13 months after surgery, making five appearances between the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and High-A Winston-Salem before joining the Charlotte rotation. The 26-year-old righty is regarded as one of the White Sox's better upper-level starting pitching prospects, but he's not on the 40-man roster and is likely behind a few other arms in the pecking order for a call-up to the big club.

  • White Sox's Mason Adams: Undergoes Tommy John surgery

The White Sox announced that Adams underwent successful Tommy John surgery Wednesday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Adams, 25, would have had a chance to reach the majors in 2025 if he was healthy, but now he's likely to out until at least midseason of 2026. He posted a 2.92 ERA and 110:28 K:BB over 120.1 innings between Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte in 2024.

The 25-year-old is without an official return timeline but is likely to be sidelined for multiple weeks, if not months. Adams received a promotion to Triple-A Charlotte late last season and had a 4.95 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 10:9 K:BB across 20 innings.

  • White Sox's Mason Adams: Dealing with right elbow injury

Adams left Friday's spring game against the Reds due to right elbow discomfort.

Adams left in the second inning of Friday's game after being visited on the mound by a trainer. The 25-year-old right-hander will undergo further testing Saturday, at which point the White Sox will have a better idea of the severity of the injury and will possibly be able to map a rehab schedule.
