  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Tosses four innings in no-decision

Peralta did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out three over four innings.

Peralta ran into trouble in the third inning, when a walk and two doubles allowed Los Angeles to plate two runs, before he surrendered another run in the fourth. Sunday marked an improvement from his first start of the second half -- when he was tagged for seven runs by the Brewers -- but the veteran right-hander has still completed five innings only once over his last five outings. Peralta has struggled since joining New York, posting a 4.99 ERA and 1.48 WHIP across 22 starts. With the trade deadline approaching, rumors suggest Sunday's outing may have been his final start in a Mets uniform.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Struggles again Monday

Peralta (5-9) took the loss against Milwaukee on Monday, allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out six batters over 5.1 innings.

Peralta fell behind quickly, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk in the first inning. He gave up three more runs across his next two frames and then watched from the dugout as two additional runs were charged to him following his departure in the sixth. The veteran righty did manage to complete five innings for the first time in his past four starts, but that's small consolation given that the seven earned runs were the second-most he's given up in an outing this season. It's been a rough first campaign in New York for Peralta, as his 5.01 ERA is fourth-worst among qualified big-league hurlers.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Can't find plate in eighth loss

Peralta (5-8) took the loss Saturday against the Red Sox, allowing two runs on three hits and five walks in 4.1 innings. He struck out six.

It was another laborious outing by Peralta, who has now failed to complete five frames in all three of his July starts thus far. The 30-year-old right-hander has battled his control all year long, as he has issued at least one walk in all of his 19 starts since Opening Day versus Pittsburgh, However, he was at least able to strike out Tsung-Che Cheng to escape a bases-loaded jam in the second inning Saturday to limit the damage. Peralta has been a big disappointment during his first year with the Mets, holding a 4.66 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 104:44 K:BB over 104.1 frames.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Lasts 4.2 frames in no-decision

Peralta did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk over 4.2 innings in a 7-6 extra-inning win against Atlanta. He struck out six.

The right-hander allowed two unearned runs in the second inning before surrendering a solo shot to Matt Olson in the third frame. After throwing 103 pitches (61 strikes), Peralta was lifted following 4.2 innings, marking the first time he failed to complete five innings in consecutive starts this year after logging four frames in his previous outing. It has been a disappointing first season with the Mets for the 30-year-old, who owns a 5-7 record with a 4.68 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 98:39 K:BB across 100 innings (19 starts). Peralta's final start before the All-Star break is tentatively scheduled for Saturday against the Red Sox.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Labors in seventh loss

Peralta (5-7) took the loss Wednesday against the Blue Jays, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks in four innings. He struck out four.

Hard contact was a problem for Peralta, who gave up three extra-base hits (one home run). The 30-year-old right-hander endured another laborious start, needing 91 pitches to complete four innings, and his lack of efficiency has prevented him from working at least six frames in four consecutive appearances. Peralta will carry a disappointing 4.81 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 92:38 K:BB across 95.1 innings into his next scheduled outing against Atlanta.
