Rockies' Drew Avans: Sent out of big-league camp
The Rockies reassigned Avans to minor-league camp Sunday.
Avans logged 18 appearances at the big-league level between the Athletics and Brewers in 2025, but he never appeared to be a serious threat to break camp with the Rockies while attending spring training as a non-roster invitee. He'll serve as organizational outfield depth at Triple-A Albuquerque during the upcoming season.

Rockies' Drew Avans: Nets MiLB deal with Rockies
The Rockies signed Avans to a minor-league contract Nov. 14.
Avans got his feet wet at the major-league level in 2025, going 2-for-17 in eight games between the Athletics and Brewers. The 29-year-old outfielder with provide organizational depth at Triple-A Albuquerque.

Brewers' Drew Avans: Outrighted to Nashville
Avans cleared waivers Thursday and was sent outright to Triple-A Nashville.
The 29-year-old outfielder lost his 40-man roster spot Sunday following Blake Perkins' return from the IL, but the former will officially stick with the organization after passing through waivers. Avans has gone just 2-for-17 in the big leagues this season but owns a .749 OPS through 106 plate appearances at Nashville.

Brewers' Drew Avans: Dropped from 40-man roster
Avans was designated for assignment by the Brewers on Sunday.
Avans will now be placed on waivers after being dropped from Milwaukee's 40-man roster. If he goes unclaimed, he'll remain with Triple-A Nashville, where he's produced a .261 average with two home runs, 12 RBI, 16 runs scored and 12 stolen bases over 23 contests this year. The transaction allowed the team to reinstate Blake Perkins (shin/groin) from the 60-day injured list, after which he was optioned to Nashville.

Brewers' Drew Avans: Heading back to Triple-A
The Brewers optioned Avans to Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Avans was claimed off waivers earlier this month and went hitless in three plate appearances during his brief time with the Brewers. The club will announce a corresponding roster move prior to Tuesday's game versus the Cubs, and it's likely to be Daz Cameron (personal) returning from the paternity list.

The Brewers claimed Avans off waivers Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Avans was DFA'd by the Athletics on Friday and now has a new organization. The 28-year-old went 2-for-15 with a stolen base over seven games with the Athletics across late May and early June during his first taste of big-league action. Speed is his primary skill, as Avans has stolen as many as 40 bases (in 2022) in the minors.

Athletics' Drew Avans: Designated for assignment
The Athletics designated Avans for assignment Friday.
Just 10 days after joining the active roster, Avans will now be cast off the Athletics' 26-man and 40-man rosters in favor of Seth Brown after going 2-for-15 across his first seven career MLB games. Avans has slashed .328/.410/.446 across 217 plate appearances in Triple-A, however, which may be good enough to attract interest from other clubs.

Athletics' Drew Avans: Joins big club
The Athletics selected Avans contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old has been productive through 47 games at Triple-A this year with four homers, 16 steals and a .328/.410/.446 slash line, and he'll now receive his first taste of the majors. Prospect Denzel Clarke has taken over as the Athletics' primary center fielder after JJ Bleday was demoted last week, so there could be a path to playing time for Avans if Clarke is unable to lock down the job.
