Brewers' Blake Perkins: Goes deep in win
Perkins went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Phillies.
Perkins had struggled to find any consistency at the plate in a limited role over two stints in the majors this season. This was his first multi-hit effort of the season, and it also included his first homer, a fourth-inning blast off Philadelphia ace Cristopher Sanchez. Perkins hadn't logged an extra-base hit since April 23 versus the Tigers. On the season, the outfielder is batting just .133 with a .462 OPS, 11 RBI, 11 runs scored, four doubles and three stolen bases over 86 plate appearances. The switch hitter will likely continue to play primarily against left-handed pitchers as a platoon partner for either Garrett Mitchell or Sal Frelick in center field or right field, respectively.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Recalled from Nashville
The Brewers recalled Perkins from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Perkins was sent to Triple-A on Monday after Jackson Chourio returned from the injured list, but the former will now return to Milwaukee to replace the injured Brandon Lockridge (knee). Perkins likely won't play as often as he did when Chourio was sidelined but could still see consistent at-bats against left-handed starters.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Dispatched to minors
The Brewers optioned Perkins to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
Perkins will head to Triple-A after the Brewers no longer had room for him in their crowded outfield following Jackson Chourio's (hand) reinstatement from the injured list. The 29-year-old Perkins had seen limited action of late, starting in just four of Milwaukee's last 19 games while slashing .059/.158/.118 during that stretch. Perkins should get the chance to play on an everyday basis with Nashville.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Playing time vs. RHPs dwindling
Perkins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.
Perkins will hit the bench Wednesday for the third straight game, with each of his absences coming against right-handed starting pitchers. Brandon Lockridge appears to have inched ahead of Perkins as the Brewers' preferred third member of the outfield alongside Garrett Mitchell and Sal Frelick while Milwaukee remains without Jackson Chourio (hand).

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Sitting in series finale
Perkins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
He'll cede his spot in left field to Brandon Lockridge. The switch-hitting Perkins had started six of the previous seven games and has a fairly clear path to playing time versus both lefties and righties until Milwaukee gets one of Andrew Vaughn (hand) or Jackson Chourio (hand) back from the injured list.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Sitting after four straight starts
Perkins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
After starting in each of the last four games while going 3-for-15 with a double, an RBI, a stolen base and a 2:7 BB:K, Perkins will hit the bench as the Brewers wrap up their three-game series in Boston. Milwaukee will roll out an outfield of Brandon Lockridge, Garrett Mitchell and Sal Frelick from left to right Wednesday. Perkins is capable of playing all three outfield spots, but he looks set to see most of his reps in left field as part of a timeshare with Lockridge while Milwaukee awaits Jackson Chourio's (hand) return from the injured list.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Back in majors
The Brewers recalled Perkins from Triple-A Nashville on Thursday.
The 29-year-old was optioned to Nashville last week but will rejoin the big club ahead of Thursday's season opener versus the White Sox with Jackson Chourio (hand) hitting the injured list. Perkins isn't likely to be a lineup regular but should see occasional starts in the outfield, which is now expected to have Jake Bauers, Garrett Mitchell and Sal Frelick as the primary options from left to right. Perkins played in 54 regular-season games last year and had a .226/.298/.348 slash line with three homers and seven steals.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Optioned to Triple-A
The Brewers optioned Perkins to Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Perkins has spent the past few seasons working as Milwaukee's fourth outfielder, but after posting a .665 OPS through 35 plate appearances in the Cactus League, he will seemingly cede that title to Brandon Lockridge to begin the regular season. A return to the majors could come if Perkins' offensive production begins to tick up in the minors, though his ceiling would likely remain as a bench piece.

Perkins tied a career high with five RBI and also logged his fourth career triple. With Milwaukee's outfield mostly healthy, the switch hitter could remain hard-pressed for playing time to wrap up the season.
