Moniak had a chance at the cycle, but he flew out in the seventh inning and didn't get another at-bat. This was his first multi-hit effort since May 13, when he also came up a single shy of the cycle versus the Pirates. He's batting .271 with a .922 OPS, 14 homers, three triples, 10 doubles, 35 RBI, 25 runs scored and a stolen base over 52 contests this season. The Rockies activated Moniak (ankle) from the 10-day injured list Monday.
Moniak has been sidelined since late May with right ankle tendinitis but received the green light to rejoin the active roster after going 1-for-13 with a double in three rehab contests. He was putting together an All-Star-worthy season before getting hurt, posting a .942 OPS with 12 home runs. The left-handed-hitting Moniak is not in the Rockies' lineup Monday versus Red Sox southpaw Jake Bennett. Sterlin Thompson has been sent back to Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding roster move.
Moniak (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday, MLB.com reports.
Moniak is scheduled to play with Albuquerque during its weekend series and will return to Denver on Sunday to be evaluated by the team's medical staff. He could presumably be activated shortly thereafter, potentially for the start of the Rockies' series against the Red Sox on Monday.

Manager Warren Schaeffer said Friday that Moniak resumed hitting off a tee during Colorado's series against the Angels, but the 28-year-old outfielder remains without a return timeline. He has been sidelined by right ankle tendinitis since late May and will likely embark on a rehab assignment before coming off the IL.

Moniak has been limited to rest and recovery since landing on the 10-day injured list May 22 due to right ankle tendinitis, MLB.com reports.
Though a recent MRI revealed no issues with Moniak's ankle beyond tendinitis, the outfielder looks like he'll have to wait a bit for the discomfort to subside before he resumes baseball activities. Moniak's recent move to the IL appears to have opened up a full-time role in the outfield for Tyler Freeman, who has started in 10 of the Rockies' last 11 games.

Moniak has been playing through the injury since colliding with the outfield wall during Colorado's series against Pittsburgh last week.
