Roth was sent to the Rangers from the Cubs on Friday, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
Roth inked a minor-league deal with Chicago over the offseason, but he's been traded after posting a 3.03 ERA with 23 strikeouts and 15 walks across 29.2 innings at Triple-A Iowa. He'll head to Triple-A Round Rock.

Roth agreed to a minor-league contract with the Cubs on Friday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
Roth spent the entirety of the 2017 season at the Triple-A level between the Giants' and Rays' organizations. He didn't fare particularly well and has only appeared in 23 major-league games in his career, with just one coming in the last three years. The 27-year-old will likely begin the upcoming campaign at Triple-A Iowa while serving as organizational depth.

Giants' Michael Roth: Signs minor league contract with Giants
Roth signed a minor league contract with the Giants on Tuesday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Roth spent the majority of the 2016 season pitching for Triple-A Round Rock with the Rangers' organization. He posted a 2.97 ERA (4.21 FIP) and a 94:42 K:BB over 145.1 innings. He has thrown 36 career big league innings and figures to start his 2017 campaign in Triple-A Sacramento.

Roth accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.
Roth was DFA'd last Sunday, and he'll wind up back at Triple-A, where he spent the bulk of the 2016 season. In 28 appearances (23 starts), Roth posted a healthy 2.97 ERA across 145.1 innings. He struggled in his only major league action, allowing 10 hits and six earned runs in a loss to the Red Sox on July 4.

Roth, who had his contract selected by Texas on Sunday, was tagged for six earned runs over 3.2 innings in Monday's outing against Boston. The Rangers recalled 22-year-old righty Jose Leclerc in a corresponding move. Roth will now be subject to waivers, but if he goes unclaimed, the Rangers plan to option him to Triple-A Round Rock.

Roth's contract was purchased from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.
The Rangers opened up a 40-man spot for Roth by moving Colby Lewis (strained lat muscle) to the 60-day DL, and the 26-year-old left-hander will replace Luke Jackson, who was demoted to Double-A Frisco in a corresponding move, on the 25-man roster. Roth compiled a 2.66 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 81.1 innings while working primarily as a starter at Triple-A, but the Rangers plan on using him as a long reliever while he remains in the big leagues.

Roth signed a minor league deal with the Rangers, though it doesn't contain an invitation to major league camp, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Roth will look to earn his keep with the Rangers, but will do so on a low-risk, team-friendly deal. He tossed a total of 124.1 innings with Cleveland's Triple-A squad in 2015, but a 5.15 FIP left much to be desired.
