Rays' Stetson Allie: Gets minors deal with Rays
Allie's agent, Gavin Kahn, announced Wednesday via his personal Twitter account that his client signed a minor-league contract with the Rays.
The deal includes an invitation to the Rays' big-league camp. A 2010 second-round pick of the Pirates, Allie began his career as a pitcher before trying his hand at first base and outfield in 2013. After the move to a full-time hitting role failed to get his career off the ground, the 29-year-old switched back to pitching in 2017, but he still has yet to receive his first taste of the big leagues. He topped out at the Triple-A level as a member of the Dodgers organization in 2019, posting an 8.16 ERA over 32 innings in relief with Oklahoma City.

Stetson Allie: Heads to independent ball
Allie signed with the Kansas City T-Bones of the independent American Association on Saturday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.
Allie spent last year in the Red Sox organization but didn't get the chance to make his big-league debut. It's possible he'll figure something out in independent ball, but given that he's 29 and owns a 7.53 ERA in 43.0 Triple-A innings, that doesn't appear particularly likely.

Red Sox's Stetson Allie: Latches on with Boston
Allie signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox on Thursday, Andersen Pickard of MLB Daily Dish reports.
The contract does not include an invitation to spring training, so Allie will likely open the season at Triple-A. He posted an 8.16 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 40:31 K:BB across 32 innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2019.

Dodgers' Stetson Allie: Inks deal with Dodgers
Allie re-signed a minor-league deal with the Dodgers on Tuesday.
Allie spent his fourth straight season at Double A -- this year at Double-A Tulsa. After a productive 2016 in which he hit 16 home runs and drove in 63 RBI, the 26-year-old struggled in 2017, slashing .216/.293/.341. Allie will need to show consistency at the plate and cut down on the strikeouts if he plans on seeing the majors in the near future.

Dodgers' Stetson Allie: Inks minor league deal with Dodgers
Allie signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on Monday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
The former second-round draft pick spent 2016 with the Pirates' Double-A affiliate and bashed 16 home runs and 20 doubles over the course of the season. Allie also boasts a strong 10.1 percent walk rate from a year ago, but his high propensity to strike out is a big reason why he hasn't advanced past Double-A over the past three seasons. The 25-year-old does have experience at a number of positions in an effort to boost his stock, although he'll need to prove more at the plate if he wants to sniff the majors any time soon.
