  • Lukas Reichel LW | BOS

Bruins' Lukas Reichel: Heading to waivers

Reichel was placed on waivers by the Bruins on Saturday.

Reichel signed a one-year contract extension with the Bruins after the team acquired him near the 2026 trade deadline in exchange for a sixth-round pick. The 24-year-old winger showcased his offensive capabilities in limited NHL action last season, scoring three goals, distributing five assists and placing 24 shots on net across 29 regular-season games between Chicago, Vancouver and Boston. If unclaimed, Reichel is set to open the 2026-27 campaign with AHL Providence, where he will likely play a large role.

  • Red Wings' Andreas Englund: Claimed off waivers

Detroit claimed Englund off waivers from Calgary on Saturday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Englund earned three goals, 13 points and 65 PIM in 52 appearances for AHL Milwaukee during the 2025-26 regular season. Due to Jacob Bernard-Docker's (upper body) injury and Simon Edvinsson's contract situation, Englund could begin the 2026-27 campaign in the NHL with the Red Wings.

  • Alex Steeves C | BOS

Bruins' Alex Steeves: Hits waivers Saturday

Steeves was placed on waivers by the Bruins on Saturday.

After a productive first year of seeing regular playing time at the NHL level, Steeves will begin the 2026-27 campaign in the minors if he goes unclaimed. The 26-year-old winger was solid from his bottom-six role, where he posted nine goals, 16 points, 55 shots on net, 144 hits and 27 blocked shots across 43 regular-season games. If he clears waivers over the next 24 hours, he'll likely play a large role for AHL Providence. Steeves will likely see some NHL playing time in 2026-27 if the Bruins' forward room runs into injury trouble.

  • Dustin Wolf G | CGY

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Tending twine Saturday

Wolf will patrol the road crease in Saturday's preseason contest against the Oilers, per Derek Wills of QR Calgary 770 AM.

Wolf will start Calgary's preseason finale before the Flames open their regular season schedule on Thursday. The 25-year-old netminder stopped eight of nine shots in his lone preseason outing of 2026-27, where he played the full game and helped the Flames pick up a 3-1 win over Vancouver. Wolf is looking to bounce back in 2026-27 after regressing slightly in the win column across 57 regular-season outings a season ago.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Starting preseason finale

Silovs will guard the road crease in Saturday's preseason contest against the Sabres, per Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site.

Silovs will get the nod to wrap up exhibition play, where he'll look to bounce back after allowing seven goals in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to the Red Wings. The 25-year-old backstop saw his largest volume in the NHL during the 2025-26 campaign and posted a 19-12-8 record, a 3.07 GAA and an .887 save percentage across 39 regular-season outings. As the goalie room's veteran, he might open the season as the No. 1 option, but Sergei Murashov will likely challenge him for playing time right out of the gate.

  • Matt Luff RW | NYI

Islanders' Matt Luff: Hits waivers Saturday

Luff was placed on waivers by the Islanders on Saturday.

Luff signed a two-way deal with the Islanders on July 1, and is set to open the upcoming campaign in the minors. The 29-year-old winger was quite effective between AHL Springfield and AHL Bridgeport last season, totaling 18 goals, 34 assists and 52 points across 62 regular-season games. He's set to play a relevant role with the newly-relocated AHL Hamilton and could be an injury replacement with the Isles as the season progresses.

  • Kraken's Mackie Samoskevich: Considered day-to-day

Samoskevich (upper body) won't play in Saturday's preseason finale against Vancouver.

Samoskevich is currently listed as day-to-day. He has some time to recover before Opening Night against Calgary on Thursday. Samoskevich produced 12 goals, 32 points, 161 shots on net and 136 hits in 77 regular-season appearances with Florida in 2025-26. He has been working on Seattle's top line during training camp ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Pierre Engvall LW | NYI

Islanders' Pierre Engvall: Headed to waivers

Engvall was placed on waivers by the Islanders on Saturday.

While Engvall entered training camp healthy and with a chance to re-earn his spot in the Islanders' bottom six, he will instead open the season in the AHL if he clears waivers. The 30-year-old winger missed the entirety of the 2025-26 season with an ankle injury. He has primarily played at the NHL level since the 2019-20 season, making him an experienced option for the freshly-relocated AHL Hamilton to open the 2026-27 campaign, given that he goes unclaimed.

  • Islanders' Mitchell Chaffee: Sent to waivers

Chaffee was placed on waivers by the Islanders on Saturday.

Chaffee signed a one-year deal with the Isles in the offseason after he played in 11 games with Tampa Bay during the 2025-26 campaign. He did most of his damage last season with AHL Syracuse, where he posted 24 goals and 57 points across 54 regular-season outings. He'll look to be effective for the newly-relocated AHL Hamilton, but could see some run with the Isles if the team runs into a stream of injuries.

  • Liam Foudy C | NYI

Islanders' Liam Foudy: Goes on waivers

Foudy was placed on waivers Saturday for the purpose of sending him to AHL Hamilton.

Foudy notched 26 goals and 47 points in 60 games for AHL Bridgeport during the 2025-26 regular season. If he clears waivers, he will likely spend most, if not all, of the 2026-27 campaign in the minors.
