Alexei Toropchenko RW | STL
Blues' Alexei Toropchenko: Dealing with upper-body injury
Toropchenko is dealing with an upper-body injury sustained Friday versus the Stars that is more than a day-to-day issue.
Toropchenko won't play Saturday versus the Avalanche, based on that update. The 27-year-old's status beyond that will likely come into focus once the Blues' medical staff has completed additional evaluations for his injuries. Look for Dillon Dube or Zach Dean to replace Toropchenko on the Blues' fourth line for Saturday's game.

Beckett Hamilton C | COL
Avalanche's Beckett Hamilton: Collects three points
Hamilton scored a goal on four shots and added two assists in WHL Red Deer's 4-2 win over Saskatoon on Friday.
Hamilton is thriving early in the WHL campaign, earning five goals and three assists over four games. He's also won more than half of his faceoff attempts in each game. Hamilton is a third-round pick of the Avalanche, and he'll have a chance to be one of the WHL's most prolific producers this year.

Alexei Toropchenko RW | STL
Blues' Alexei Toropchenko: Forced out of Friday's game
Toropchenko sustained an undisclosed injury and will not return to Friday's game versus the Stars.
Toropchenko was injured on a hit by Lian Bichsel, and the Blues winger needed help to get off the ice. The Blues didn't reveal the nature of Toropchenko's injury. If he can't play Saturday versus the Avalanche, Dillon Dube or Zach Dean would take his place in the lineup.

Ethan Wyttenbach LW | CGY
Flames' Ethan Wyttenbach: Starts season on high note
Wyttenbach scored twice and added an assist in Quinnipiac University's 10-2 win over the University of New Hampshire on Friday.
Wyttenbach was the top freshman in 2025-26, and his sophomore campaign is off to a strong start. The 19-year-old had 59 points in 40 games for Quinnipiac last year. If he thrives again this season, he could opt to sign an entry-level deal and turn pro for 2027-28.

Mads Sogaard G | TB
Lightning's Mads Sogaard: Opens AHL season with shutout
Sogaard notched a 27-save shutout in AHL Syracuse's 2-0 win over Laval on Friday.
Sogaard's first game for Syracuse was a huge success. The goalie will be the organizational No. 3 for the Lightning, but he probably won't see much NHL time unless Andrei Vasilevksiy or Dennis Hildeby gets hurt. Last year, Sogaard went 7-13-4 with a 3.69 GAA and an .874 save percentage for AHL Belleville in the regular season.

Sheldon Dries C | DET
Red Wings' Sheldon Dries: Tallies twice for Griffins
Dries scored two goals in AHL Grand Rapids' 5-2 win over Cleveland on Friday.
Dries has logged at least 40 points in four of the last five AHL regular seasons. The forward is off to another good start this year, though it's expected the 32-year-old will serve as a veteran leader with the Griffins rather than a call-up option for the Red Wings. He made five appearances for Detroit in 2025-26.
-
Jan Chovan C | LA
Kings' Jan Chovan: Earns four points Friday
Chovan scored a goal and added three assists in OHL Sudbury's 7-1 win over Niagara on Friday.
Chovan had his first big game of the season as the Wolves earned a blowout win. He has six points, seven shots on net and a plus-2 rating over three contests in the OHL season. Chovan will turn 20 in January, so he'll likely be deciding between signing and going to the AHL or heading to the NCAA for the 2027-28 campaign.
-
Tyler Hopkins C | TOR
Maple Leafs' Tyler Hopkins: Adds two more goals
Hopkins scored twice in OHL Guelph's 4-2 win over Windsor on Friday.
Hopkins has taken off quickly in this OHL campaign, earning three goals and seven points over his first three games of the campaign. The Maple Leafs prospect is in a great situation, so steady offense should be on the way for him throughout the campaign. He has yet to sign his entry-level contract, so he could opt to head to the NCAA next year if he remains unsigned.

Raphael Lavoie C | LV
Golden Knights' Raphael Lavoie: Remains out Friday
Lavoie (undisclosed) won't play Friday versus the Ducks, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.
Lavoie skated in a non-contact jersey Tuesday, but he'll miss a second straight game to start the season. It's not yet clear if he'll be given the chance to play regularly at the NHL level when he's healthy enough to draw into the lineup. However, the 26-year-old forward would require waivers to be sent to AHL Henderson.

Stuart Skinner G | WPG
Jets' Stuart Skinner: Set to start Friday
Skinner will protect the home goal versus the Bruins on Friday
Skinner is set to handle the No. 1 job in goal for the Jets this season. The 27-year-old netminder went 23-17-9 with a 2.92 GAA and an .888 save percentage over 50 regular-season outings last year. Skinner has plenty of experience, but he may struggle behind a team that lacks depth and wasn't all that strong in 2025-26.
