  • Parker Kelly C | COL

Avalanche's Parker Kelly: Chips in with pair of assists

Kelly notched two assists, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Blues.

Kelly has a pair of multi-point efforts to begin the season. He has a goal, three assists, two shots on net, four hits and a plus-4 rating from a fourth-line role. Kelly stood out last year, and he's well on his way to showing his 35-point effort in the 2025-26 regular season wasn't a fluke. Keep Kelly in mind as a depth option in fantasy, especially in leagues that count hits.

  • Blackhawks' Anton Frondell: Two apples Saturday

Frondell picked up two assists Saturday in a 4-3 loss to Buffalo.

This season has been tough on the entire Hawks squad. They were outscored 11-2 in losses to Vegas and Utah in their first two contests this season, and they mustered just 15 shots at Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen on Saturday. Frondell played 16:06 and had one shot and one hit against the Sabres. The assists are his first points this season. The team compete level was far better Saturday than earlier in the week, and Frondell's job will get easier when Connor Bedard (shoulder) returns. Until then, temper expectations -- no individual player can lift an entire team.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Scores power-play goal Saturday

Stamkos scored a power-play goal on four shots in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Stars.

Stamkos tied the game for the Predators with a one-timer from the left circle at 4:46 of the first period, just under four minutes after Miro Heiskanen opened the scoring for Dallas. The tally was Stamkos' 625th career goal, moving him into a tie with Joe Sakic and Jarome Iginla for 17th on the NHL's all-time list. Stamkos has opened the 2026-27 season with points in back-to-back games after he delivered an assist in the 3-1 loss to Minnesota on Oct. 1.

  • Devils' Nico Daws: Beaten six times Saturday

Daws stopped 26 of 32 shots in Saturday's 6-0 loss to the Islanders.

Daws kept the game scoreless through the first period but couldn't hold on the rest of the way, allowing three goals in each of the subsequent two frames -- including a power-play goal in the second period and a shorthanded goal in the third. Saturday was Daws' first start of the season after Jake Allen handled New Jersey's opener against Philadelphia, and while one game isn't enough to draw meaningful conclusions, it wouldn't be surprising if he stays as the Devils' No. 2 goaltender behind Allen for the foreseeable future.

  • Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Distributes three assists in win

MacKinnon registered three assists, four shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Blues.

After showing off his scoring skills with two goals in the season opener, MacKinnon demonstrated some playmaking in this contest. He's added 12 shots on net and a plus-1 rating through two appearances. He won't put up multiple points every game, but that's something he did in 42 of his 80 regular-season outings last year, which makes him as close to a sure thing as there is in fantasy hockey.

  • Bo Horvat C | NYI

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Nets power-play goal

Horvat scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Devils.

Horvat scored the Islanders' first power-play goal of the season at 12:08 of the second period, taking a feed from Matthew Schaefer and beating Nico Daws from the right circle to extend the lead to 3-0. The tally represented Horvat's 100th goal and 200th point as an Islander. He has opened the campaign with points in consecutive games after assisting on Emil Heineman's short-handed goal in Wednesday's loss to Toronto, and the 31-year-old should be a steady offensive contributor for the Isles as long as he stays healthy, given his first-line role on both even-strength and power-play shifts.

  • Cale Makar D | COL

Avalanche's Cale Makar: Opens scoring in blowout win

Makar scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Blues.

Makar tallied 4:09 into the contest, and the Avalanche never looked back. The 27-year-old is showing no signs of rust after battling a lower-body injury for most of the preseason. Makar has three points, four shots, three blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over two contests. He should be among the highest-scoring blueliners when all is said and done this season.

  • Islanders' Brayden Schenn: Posts two points Saturday

Schenn scored a goal on four shots and added an assist in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Devils.

Schenn doubled the Islanders' advantage at the 5:00 mark of the second period, finishing from in front of an empty net after Victor Eklund collected the rebound from Matthew Schaefer's shot and slipped the puck through to the veteran. The 35-year-old was not done, however, and he picked up an assist on Eklund's first NHL goal in the third period. After opening the season without a point against Toronto, Schenn made an immediate impact alongside youngsters Eklund and Ritchie on the Islanders' revamped second line. Schenn is looking to improve on his 2025-26 numbers with the Isles, where he notched six goals and 11 points across 19 regular-season contests since being traded from the Blues on March 6.

  • Josh Manson D | COL

Avalanche's Josh Manson: Earns two points in win

Manson scored a goal on two shots, dished an assist, went plus-4 and added three hits in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Blues.

Manson is filling a third-pairing role alongside Brent Burns to begin the campaign. With three points, three shots, four hits, two blocked shots and a plus-4 rating, Manson has looked good in that role amid the Avalanche's early explosion of offense. The 34-year-old will provide more physicality than scoring in the long run, but he's in a good team situation that gives him some fantasy value in banger leagues and deeper standard formats.

  • Jack Quinn RW | BUF

Sabres' Jack Quinn: Head coach singing praises for play

Quinn scored a goal Saturday in a 4-3 win over Chicago.

Quinn has a goal in each of his first two games, and head coach Lindy Ruff has been effusive in his praise. "I think he could have had three tonight easy," Ruff said after the game. Quinn had 20 goals, 31 assists and 191 shots in 82 games last season, and he may be headed for yet another career year in the Sabres' top six.
