  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Garners helper in overtime win

Manson logged an assist, two shots on goal and three hits in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Kings in Game 2. Manson dealt with an upper-body injury late in the regular season, which cost him three games. The 34-year-old defenseman snapped a five-game point drought when he set up Nicolas Roy's game-winning tally in overtime. Manson had a strong regular season with 31 points, 128 shots on net, 174 hits, 99 blocked shots, 91 PIM and a plus-42 rating over 79 appearances. Over seven previous postseason runs, the defenseman has earned 21 points across 65 outings, including eight points over 20 games during the Avalanche's Stanley Cup championship run in 2022.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Good to go Sunday

Manson (upper body) will play in Game 1 against the Kings on Sunday, according to Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette. Following a three-game absence, Manson will return to the lineup in a third-pairing role. During the 2025-26 regular season, he accounted for five goals, 31 points, 128 shots on net, 99 blocked shots, 174 hits and 91 PIM in 79 appearances.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Not playing Thursday

Manson (upper body) will miss Thursday's tilt versus Seattle, Aarif Deen of Colorado Hockey Now reports. Manson will miss his third straight game Thursday. He ends the regular season with five goals, 26 assists, 91 PIM, 99 blocked shots and 174 hits across 79 appearances. Consider him day-to-day at this time.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Not in lineup Tuesday

Manson (upper body) won't play Tuesday versus the Flames, per the NHL media site. Manson also missed Monday's game versus the Oilers. The Avalanche won't rush him back from this injury, so expect Jack Ahcan in the lineup Tuesday and potentially also Thursday versus the Kraken. Manson's status for the start of the playoffs hasn't been announced.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Shut down Monday

Manson (upper body) won't be in action versus the Oilers on Monday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports Manson hasn't scored a goal since the Olympic break, picking up just seven assists over his last 24 games. During that stretch, the veteran defenseman has added 41 shots on net, 45 hits and 23 blocked shots while averaging 16:52 of ice time. With Manson unavailable, Jack Ahcan looks set to play for the Avalanche for the first time since Jan. 25 versus Toronto.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Won't finish contest

Manson (upper body) won't return to Saturday's game versus the Golden Knights. Manson's absence leaves the Avalanche with just five healthy defensemen on the roster. The 34-year-old could be held out for some or all of the team's last three games of the regular season, as the Avalanche don't need to rush him back. If Manson and Cale Makar (upper body) can't play Monday in Edmonton, expect a call-up from AHL Colorado.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Plucks apple in loss

Manson logged an assist, four hits and two PIM in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Jets. The helper was Manson's third in his last nine games. The 34-year-old blueliner continues to fill a bottom-four role for the Avalanche, offering plenty of toughness and a little scoring upside as well. He's put up 29 points, 110 shots on net, 163 hits, 93 blocked shots, 89 PIM and a plus-39 rating over 72 appearances. Manson likely won't match his career high of 37 points from 80 games with the Ducks in 2017-18, but there's no denying he's been good in his role this year.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Nets game-winner Wednesday

Manson scored a goal on four shots and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Sharks. Manson went 11 games without a goal after posting two goals and two assists versus the Senators on Jan. 8. He had four assists in that span before snapping the goal drought with the game-winner Wednesday. The veteran defenseman is up to five goals, 24 points, 87 shots on net, 129 hits, 76 blocked shots, 64 PIM and a plus-37 rating over 55 appearances. While he lacks power-play production, Manson has been excellent in every other area this season as he benefits from playing on a high-scoring team.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Two of each in win

Manson scored twice on five shots, added two assists, went plus-5, logged seven PIM, doled out three hits and blocked four shots in Thursday's 8-2 win over the Senators. It's safe to say this was Manson's best game of the season, if not his whole career. He came a fight away from the NHL's first double Gordie Howe hat trick, though it makes sense that he didn't take any unnecessary risks for his health in a blowout win. The 34-year-old defenseman hadn't scored since Nov. 26, but he's been a steady source of helpers, hits and PIM lately, earning 11 assists, 23 PIM and 44 hits over the previous 17 contests, not including his epic performance Thursday. Overall, the blueliner is at four goals, 19 points, 62 shots on net, 58 PIM, 107 hits, 60 blocked shots and a plus-32 rating through 43 outings in 2025-26.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Supplies pair of helpers

Manson logged two assists, three shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Blues. Manson had three multi-assist efforts and racked up a total of 10 helpers over 14 contests in December. The 34-year-old defenseman's burst of offense has him on the radar in fantasy, though it's his toughness and physicality that will give him long-term appeal in banger leagues. For the season, the blueliner is up to 14 points, 52 shots on net, 99 hits, 53 blocked shots, 47 PIM and a plus-27 rating through 39 outings.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Adds pair of helpers

Manson logged two assists, three hits and two PIM in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Panthers. Manson has been steady in December with five helpers over six games. The 34-year-old blueliner continues to handle a bottom-four role, providing a bit of grit to complement his teammates' skills. Manson is up to nine points, 42 shots on net, 81 hits, 43 blocked shots, 32 PIM and a plus-19 rating over 31 appearances. His offense alone isn't fantasy-worthy, but his physical play could get him onto some rosters in formats that reward the rough stuff.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Scores in blowout win

Manson scored a goal on three shots, added two hits, blocked four shots and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 6-0 win over the Sharks. Manson stretched the Avalanche's lead to 4-0 in the second period. The 34-year-old defenseman has two goals, four points, 29 shots on net, 57 hits, 33 blocked shots, 28 PIM and a plus-13 rating over 23 appearances this season. He's mostly seen bottom-four minutes, though his production in the physical categories makes him a decent option in banger leagues. Manson has earned two of his four points over the last six contests.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Gets two-year extension

Manson signed a two-year, $7.9 million contract extension with the Avalanche on Thursday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet. His new deal runs through the 2027-28 campaign. Manson has one season remaining on his four-year, $18 million contract, so his new agreement won't start right away. He's taking a bit of a cut in pay, but Manson will celebrate his 34th birthday Oct. 7, so the Avalanche are locking him up late into his career. Manson had a goal, 15 points, 28 PIM, 65 shots, 105 hits and 59 blocks in 48 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He has appeared in at least 70 regular-season games in just one of the last six seasons, which is a significant concern, but Manson does offer plenty of grit from the blue line when healthy.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Nets shortie in loss

Manson scored a shorthanded goal on four shots and added two hits in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Stars in Game 7. Manson's goal opened the scoring just before the halfway mark of the game. He contributed three points, 18 shots on net, 24 hits, 10 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over seven playoff contests. Manson missed large chunks of 2024-25 with injuries, amassing 15 points, 65 shots on net, 105 hits and 59 blocked shots over 48 regular-season appearances. He's under contract for next season, so expect the 33-year-old to return to a shutdown role on Colorado's blue line in 2025-26.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Puts away empty-netter

Manson scored an empty-net goal on three shots and added seven hits in Thursday's 7-4 win over the Stars in Game 6. Manson has been tasked with playing a shutdown role during the postseason, so it's no surprise he hasn't been all that active on offense. He has a goal, an assist, 14 shots on net, 22 hits, nine blocked shots, eight PIM and plus-3 rating over six playoff outings. He's playing in a top-four role, but Manson and Ryan Lindgren are essentially interchangeable in terms of who gets more ice time.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Nabs helper in return

Manson logged an assist, four PIM and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Stars in Game 1. Manson returned from an upper-body injury that cost him the last 15 games of the regular season. The 33-year-old Manson bumped Sam Malinski out of the lineup for Saturday's contest. However, Manson, Malinski and Erik Johnson could compete for two spots in the lineup throughout the playoffs. Manson was limited to 15 points, 105 hits, 59 blocked shots, 65 shots on net and a minus-6 rating in 48 regular-season appearances due to various injuries.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Staying back in Colorado

Manson (upper body) will not be on the Avs' two-game road trip, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports Friday. Manson has been out of action since March 14 versus the Flames, a stretch of 13 games on the shelf that will now reach at least 15 before he is cleared to play. Due to Cale Makar (rest) and Ryan Lindgren (upper body) also not making the trip, the Avs will turn to youngsters Keaton Middleton and either Jack Ahcan or Wyatt Aamodt to fill out the lineup.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Placed on injured reserve

Manson (upper body) was put on injured reserve Thursday, per the NHL media site. Manson, who was already ruled out for Thursday's clash against Vancouver, hasn't played since March 14, so he can be activated at any time. He has a goal, 15 points, 105 hits and 59 blocks in 48 outings in 2024-25. When healthy, Manson's presence might push Erik Johnson out of the lineup.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Won't play Thursday

Manson (upper body) will not be in the lineup against Vancouver on Thursday, Aarif Deen of Colorado Hockey Now reports. Manson looks doubtful to suit up in the final two games of the season, either against Los Angeles or Anaheim on Saturday or Sunday, respectively, though he hasn't been officially ruled out. While the Avs will be getting Samuel Girard (undisclosed) back, they will now be without Ryan Lindgren (upper body) versus Vancouver, which means that Keaton Middleton should be expected to remain in the lineup.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Will miss 12th straight game

Manson (upper body) will not be available for Tuesday's home game versus the Golden Knights, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports. Manson has missed 11 consecutive games after sustaining an upper-body injury March 14 against the Flames. There hasn't been much word regarding Manson's progression in his recovery, so he shouldn't be counted on to suit up Thursday against Vancouver. Erik Johnson has seen more consistent playing time on the right side of Colorado's third pairing due to Manson's absence.
