  • Jakub Dobes G | MON

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Gets win over Canucks

Dobes stopped 28 of 31 shots in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Canucks.

Dobes remains undefeated this season, rattling off his fifth straight win to open the campaign. It was the first time he's given up more than two goals in 2025-26, but he was sharp enough to settle in after giving up the first two tallies of the contest. On the year, Dobes is 5-0-0 with a 1.77 GAA and a .940 save percentage. No goalie can sustain numbers that good, but Dobes has been the better of the Canadiens' netminders and looks poised to claw some playing time away from Sam Montembeault.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Beaten four times, picks up win

Gibson stopped 25 of 29 shots in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Blues.

Gibson was beaten four times between the first period and the early stages of the second frame. However, he shut the door afterward, and after receiving support from an offense that scored six unanswered goals, he ended up claiming the win. Despite winning three of his five starts this season, Gibson hasn't been a reliable presence between the pipes for Detroit. He's allowed at least four goals in three of those outings while stopping 107 of the 123 shots he's faced thus far.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Sharp in win

Johansson made 37 saves Saturday in a 4-3 win over Anaheim.

Johansson has been solid this season. He's put up a 2-1-0 record with a 3.04 GAA and a .913 save percentage in three starts. His success has helped mask Andrei Vasilevskiy's struggles so far. Vasilevskiy is still waiting for his first win, and he has an .885 save percentage through five outings.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Gives up four in loss

Dostal made 29 saves in a 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Dostal is 2-3-1 with a 3.02 GAA and an .899 save percentage in six starts this season. He has struggled early in his first campaign as the top netminder of the Ducks, but he is a solid buy-low candidate. Anaheim is still adjusting to a new coaching staff and zone defensive system, which should benefit the team's netminders.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Stomped by Mammoth

Gustavsson stopped 35 of 40 shots in Saturday's 6-2 loss to Utah, with the Mammoth's final goal getting scored into an empty net.

Utah scored three times in the first five minutes of the first period, and Minnesota never recovered. It's the third time in seven starts that Gustavsson has surrendered five or more goals, and after alternating good and bad seasons over the last few years, it's beginning to look like he's headed for another bad one. Through seven outings to begin 2025-26, Gustavsson is 2-5-0 with a 3.34 GAA and an .897 save percentage.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Win streak at six

Vejmelka turned aside 33 shots in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Wild.

The Mammoth scored three times before five minutes had elapsed in the first period, giving Vejmelka more than enough cushion to cruise to his sixth straight win. The 29-year-old netminder has benefitted from some impressive offensive support -- Utah's scored at least six goals in three of his last four starts -- but he's done his part with a 2.43 GAA and .905 save percentage through seven outings.

  • Joey Daccord G | SEA

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Set to start Saturday

Daccord is expected to start at home against Edmonton on Saturday, per The Sound of Hockey reports.

Daccord posted a 32-save shutout victory over Winnipeg on Thursday. He's 4-1-1 with a 2.56 GAA and a .911 save percentage in six appearances this season. Edmonton has been mediocre out of the gate in the 2025-26 campaign with a 4-3-1 record and 3.00 goals per game.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Snaps losing streak Saturday

Swayman stopped 31 shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Avalanche.

The Bruins got outshot 33-19 on the afternoon, but Swayman was up to the challenge as he snapped his three-game losing streak. The 26-year-old netminder is 3-3-0 in six starts this season. He has allowed a total of four goals in the three victories but 13 in the three defeats, leaving him with a 2.85 GAA and a .910 save percentage.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Bounced by B's

Wedgewood made 16 saves in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Bruins.

It was a tough afternoon for the journeyman netminder, who saw two of the goals against him scored from behind the net. Viktor Arvidsson banked in a shot off Wedgewood's back late in the first period, and Morgan Geekie faked a wraparound attempt before tucking the puck inside the near post with five seconds left in the second. Wedgewood had a strong start to the season, going 5-0-1 over his first six appearances with a 1.48 GAA and a .938 save percentage, but he's given up 11 goals on just 63 shots over his last three outings.

  • Colten Ellis G | BUF

    Sabres' Colten Ellis: Is day-to-day

Ellis is day-to-day due to tightness in his back, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports Saturday.

Ellis was originally expected to start in Saturday's road game against Toronto, but he missed that assignment due to his injury. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen got the nod instead and stopped 18 of 22 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss. Even if Ellis ends up being an option for Tuesday's home game against Columbus, it's not clear if he'll play between the pipes. In addition to Ellis and Luukkonen, Buffalo also has goaltender Alex Lyon on the roster, so there's plenty of competition for starts.
