Hunter Shepard G | MON
Senators' Hunter Shepard: Called up from AHL
Shepard was recalled from AHL Belleville on Saturday.
Shepard was recalled last week and then sent down without seeing any NHL action. Shepard was 2-2-0 with a 3.02 GAA and a .906 save percentage in four AHL appearances before his recall. The Senators sent Leevi Merilainen to Belleville in a corresponding move.

Leevi Merilainen G | VAN
Senators' Leevi Merilainen: Sent to AHL
Merilainen was reassigned to AHL Belleville on Saturday.
Merilainen has played only twice this season, allowing nine goals on 54 shots (.833 save percentage). The move will give him some playing time at the AHL level, and he will likely return to the big club in the near future. The Senators recalled Hunter Shepard to back up Linus Ullmark in a corresponding move.

John Gibson G | DET
Red Wings' John Gibson: Loses to former team
Gibson allowed four goals on 31 shots in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Ducks. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Gibson has allowed four goals in three of his last four outings, so he's a bit lucky to be 2-2-0 in that span. The 32-year-old wasn't able to fend off his former teammates in his return to Anaheim after the offseason trade that sent him to Detroit. Gibson is 4-3-0 with a 3.32 GAA and an .875 save percentage over seven appearances. The Red Wings visit the Sharks on Sunday, but they haven't announced a starting goalie for that contest at this time.
-
Lukas Dostal G | ANA
Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Steady in Friday's win
Dostal stopped 28 of 30 shots in Friday's 5-2 win over the Red Wings.
Dostal has won three of his last four outings, allowing a total of 10 goals in that span. He hasn't dominated any of his starts yet, but he hasn't had an awful outing either, providing consistency and getting enough support from his teammates to keep things competitive. Dostal is now 4-3-1 with a 2.74 GAA and a .909 save percentage over eight starts. The Ducks have another tough foe ahead as they host the Devils on Sunday.

Ryan Fanti G | EDM
Lightning's Ryan Fanti: Posts first career AHL shutout
Fanti recorded a 33-save shutout in AHL Syracuse's 4-0 win over Utica on Friday.
This was the first shutout in 19 career AHL games for Fanti. He's played well this season, winning all three of his starts with a 1.66 GAA and a .941 save percentage. Fanti is still behind Brandon Halverson on the Lightning's organizational depth chart, but he appears to be putting it all together for Syracuse after struggling in small amounts of time with AHL Bakersfield in previous seasons.

Logan Thompson G | WAS
Capitals' Logan Thompson: Takes loss against Islanders
Thompson allowed two goals on 22 shots in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Islanders. The third goal was an empty-netter.
Thompson has lost two starts in a row, but he has still yet to allow more than two goals in any of his eight starts this season. The 28-year-old netminder gave up tallies to Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Bo Horvat in this contest. For the season, Thompson is at a 5-3-0 record with a 1.51 GAA and a .935 save percentage over eight starts. Charlie Lindgren is likely to start in Buffalo on Saturday, but Thompson should get the nod either Wednesday versus the Blues or Thursday against the Penguins for his next start.
-
Ilya Sorokin G | NYI
Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Sharp in win
Sorokin stopped 22 of 23 shots in Friday's 3-1 win over the Capitals.
Sorokin had allowed seven goals on 47 shots over his previous two outings. He bounced back with a strong performance Friday, which saw him give up nothing more than a Tom Wilson goal off a rebound. Sorokin improved to 3-4-1 with a 3.40 GAA and an .877 save percentage over eight starts. He's still got some work to do to repair the early damage to his numbers, but Sorokin is expected to receive plenty of playing time. The Islanders' next game is Sunday at home versus the Blue Jackets.
-
Carl Lindbom G | LV
Golden Knights' Carl Lindbom: Beaten three times
Lindbom stopped 22 of 25 shots in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Avalanche. The fourth goal was an empty-netter in the third period.
Lindbom stopped 26 of 28 shots in his NHL debut against the Lightning on Oct. 26, and while he was unable to earn the win Friday, he's performed fairly well against two formidable opponents. Through two starts, Lindbom has posted a .906 save percentage. It remains to be seen when he'll get another start, though the Golden Knights' next game will come Tuesday at home against the Red Wings.

Scott Wedgewood G | COL
Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Makes 21 saves Friday
Wedgewood stopped 21 of 23 shots in Friday's 4-2 win over the Golden Knights.
Wedgewood delivered a bounce-back performance Friday against a struggling Golden Knights team that has lost three of its last four contests. Wedgewood was beaten twice in the final period, but the Avalanche provided him with enough support to help the 33-year-old earn his seventh win of the season. This was also the first time since Oct. 18 that Wedgewood didn't allow three or more goals.
