Brenden Dillon D | NJ
Devils' Brenden Dillon: Back after five games as healthy scratch
Dillon had four hits in 14:51 of ice time in a 3-1 win over the Kings on Saturday.
He was nicked with three giveaways on the official scoresheet. Dillon watched from the press box for five games before Saturday. The 35-year-old defender is in the sunset of his career. He has played 1,062 NHL regular-season games, delivering 42 goals and 185 assists. This could be his last chance at a Stanley Cup after competing in the 2016 championship with the Sharks. San Jose lost to Sidney Crosby and the Penguins that year.

Brett Pesce D | NJ
Devils' Brett Pesce: First goal in 35 games wins game
Pesce scored a goal Saturday in a 3-1 win over the Kings.
It was his first goal in 35 games dating to Dec. 23 of last season, and it was a beauty. Pesce toe-dragged the puck past a Kings forward before going low under Anton Forsberg's left pad. It stood as the winner. The defender is best known for his stabilization of the Devils own zone, but he has also put up 30 points in an NHL season. Pesce now has one goal, three assists and 20 blocks in 11 games this season.

Bowen Byram D | CHI
Blackhawks' Bowen Byram: Unavailable for Sunday
Byram (upper body) is set to miss Sunday's game against Florida, per Scott Powers of The Athletic.
Byram also missed Chicago's past three games. He has an assist in six appearances this campaign. Byram should resume his top-four role once he's healthy.

Jack Ahcan D | NSH
Predators' Jack Ahcan: Goes on waivers
Ahcan was placed on waivers Saturday, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Ahcan has earned one assist, two hits and one blocked shot in three appearances for Nashville this season. In a corresponding move, the Predators claimed Daemon Hunt from waivers from Minnesota on Saturday. Ahcan will likely head to AHL Milwaukee if he clears waivers.

Esa Lindell D | DAL
Stars' Esa Lindell: Shifts to IR
Lindell was placed on injured reserve, retroactive to Oct. 17, on Saturday.
Lindell's retroactive move to IR keeps him in the mix to return prior to the end of October. The 32-year-old blueliner suffered his lower-body injury while blocking a shot in the Stars' matchup against the Blackhawks on Oct. 17. Prior to the injury, he had compiled a plus-4 rating, four shots on net, five hits and 18 blocked shots over eight games. While Lindell remains shelved, Kyle Capobianco should continue to see heightened minutes.

Daemon Hunt D | NSH
Predators' Daemon Hunt: Headed to Music City
Hunt was claimed off waivers by the Predators on Saturday, per Michael Russo of The Athletic.
Hunt will be switching sides in a Central-Division rivalry following the Predators' move to stymie Minnesota's intended move of sending him to AHL Iowa. The 24-year-old Hunt had been solid without the puck prior to landing on waivers, as he had posted seven hits and 11 blocked shots across 11 games this season. He hasn't found the scoresheet yet, however, which will likely be a new goal of his if the Predators elect to keep him at the NHL level. If not, he'll likely head to AHL Milwaukee.

John Marino D | UTA
Mammoth's John Marino: Considered week-to-week
Marino (upper body) has been deemed week-to-week and will miss Saturday's home clash against the Lightning, per Brogan Houston of the Deseret News.
Marino has missed Utah's last two games and is slated to miss the next handful as well. The 29-year-old blueliner was effective prior to going down, as he posted two goals, five points, eight shots on net and four blocked shots across nine appearances. Expect to see Marino be held out until early-November at the earliest. In his absence, Nick DeSimone should continue to see an elevated role.
-
Rasmus Ristolainen D | PHI
Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: Removed from IR
Ristolainen (hand) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, according to Adam Kimelman of NHL.com.
Following a nine-game absence with an injured left hand, Ristolainen appears poised to return to the lineup against Anaheim on Saturday. He has earned one goal, four shots on net, seven blocked shots and four hits in three appearances this season.

Samuel Girard D | PIT
Penguins' Samuel Girard: Moves to IR
Girard (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Girard has missed the last two games with an injury and will be unavailable for Saturday's matchup against Nashville. It's unclear when he will be ready to return to the lineup. In a corresponding move, Pittsburgh recalled Avery Hayes from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday.
