Isac Lundestrom C | CLB
Blue Jackets' Isac Lundestrom: Shifts to long-term IR
Lundestrom (achilles) was moved to long-term injured reserve Tuesday, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers.
Lundestrom was placed on long-term injured reserve in a corresponding move with the Blue Jackets' signing of Carson Soucy. Lundestrom's first season with the Blue Jackets saw him play a solid role, where he posted four goals, 12 points, 53 shots on goal, 35 hits and 35 blocked shots across 68 regular-season outings. His projected timeline for return hasn't changed from early November, leaving him off the fantasy radar for the time being.

Matthew Savoie C | EDM
Oilers' Matt Savoie: Set to miss eight weeks
Savoie (lower body) is expected to be sidelined for around eight weeks.
Savoie was injured during an offseason training session, which caused him to miss the entirety of the Oilers' training camp. The 22-year-old forward is an exciting up and coming player who posted 18 goals, 37 points, 138 shots on net and 37 blocked shots across 82 regular-season games in 2025-26. In Savoie's absence, the Oilers will experiment with other young players in the lineup, such as Colton Dach and Owen Michaels, until he is ready to return. On his current timeline, expect the ninth-overall selection from the 2022 NHL Entry Draft to return sometime between late November and early December, barring any setbacks.

Jason Dickinson C | EDM
Oilers' Jason Dickinson: Expected to miss some time
Dickinson (foot) is still "a bit" away from being ready to return, head coach Mike Babcock told NHL.com on Tuesday.
Dickinson is expected to miss at least the first week of the 2026-27 campaign, but he could be unavailable for longer. In 64 regular-season games between Edmonton and Chicago in 2025-26, he posted seven goals, 17 points, 73 shots on net, 50 blocked shots and 85 hits.

Mattias Janmark C | EDM
Oilers' Mattias Janmark: Remains without timeline
Janmark (undisclosed) does not have a timetable for his return from injury.
Janmark underwent an undisclosed procedure earlier in the year, but he's currently shelved until further notice. The 33-year-old winger was limited in 2025-26, where he compiled a goal and eight points across 43 regular-season outings. In his absence, Mathieu Joseph and Max Jones are expected to serve as the team's left wingers in the bottom six to open the 2026-27 campaign.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins C | EDM
Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Set to miss opener
Nugent-Hopkins (lower body) will miss the Oilers' Opening Night matchup Tuesday and is expected to be sidelined for around two weeks, per Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels.
Bob Stauffer of the Oilers Radio Network reported that Nugent-Hopkins is specifically dealing with a lower-body injury. The 33-year-old forward had a solid season in 2025-26, where he posted 20 goals, 56 points and 133 shots on net across 72 regular-season outings. In his absence, Colton Dach and Owen Michaels are expected to see heightened roles up the center of the ice. Nugent-Hopkins should be left on the waiver wire in fantasy until more details about his injury are shared.

Kai Uchacz C | LV
Golden Knights' Kai Uchacz: Moving to IR-NR
Uchacz (undisclosed) will begin the 2026-27 regular season on the injured non-roster list, per SinBin.vegas.
Uchacz was deemed week-to-week in the middle of the Golden Knights' training camp, and he is set to miss at least one more with his move to the injured non-roster list. The 23-year-old center had a solid season with AHL Henderson in 2025-26, where he posted 20 goals and 51 points across 68 regular-season appearances. He was named alternate captain of the Silver Knights last season, which is a strong indication that he'll return to the organization for the majority of the upcoming campaign.

Vitali Pinchuk C | NSH
Predators' Vitali Pinchuk: Starting year in minors
Pinchuk will begin the 2026-27 campaign with AHL Milwaukee.
Pinchuk was very close to making the Predators' Opening Night roster, so he might be the first forward to receive a call-up this season. The 24-year-old generated 31 goals, 66 points and a plus-21 rating over 65 regular-season games with KHL Minsk in 2025-26, so he certainly has some offensive upside. Moreover, the Predators elected to start the season with just 12 forwards and nine defensemen on the roster, so if the team gets off to a slow start, it may not be long before Pinchuk makes his NHL debut.

Nick Bjugstad C | NJ
Devils' Nick Bjugstad: Starting on injured non-roster
Bjugstad (pectoral) will begin the 2026-27 regular season on the injured non-roster list, per Mike Morreale of NHL.com.
Bjugstad underwent surgery earlier in September to repair the torn left pectoral muscle he suffered while training in the offseason. The 34-year-old forward had a quiet 2025-26 campaign, where he posted six goals, nine points, 77 shots on net, 108 hits and 33 blocked shots across 61 regular-season games between St. Louis and New Jersey. He would've potentially had a similar role with New Jersey if he was healthy for Opening Night. His expected timeline for return is 4-6 months, which places him off the fantasy radar until the second half of the upcoming season.

Georgii Merkulov C | COL
Avalanche's Georgi Merkulov: Moves to IR-NR
Merkulov (undisclosed) was put on non-roster injured reserve Monday.
It wasn't immediately clear when Merkulov was injured or how long he is expected to be on the shelf for. The 25-year-old will probably suit up for AHL Colorado once he's given the green light to appear in a game.

Adam Gaudette RW | SJ
Sharks' Adam Gaudette: Beginning on injured non-roster
Gaudette (upper body) will begin the 2026-27 regular season on the injured non-roster list, per Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.
Gaudette was ruled day-to-day near the start of training camp and didn't log any preseason appearances. The 29-year-old forward was a solid role player for San Jose in 2025-26, where he posted 17 goals, 25 points, 96 shots on net, 53 hits and 33 blocked shots across 66 regular-season outings. When he's ready to return, Gaudette will likely slot somewhere in the team's bottom six or if there's no spot available for him, he could be optioned to AHL San Jose.
