Jason Dickinson C | EDM
Oilers' Jason Dickinson: Nearing return to lineup
Dickinson (foot) is working his way toward full health and might make his season debut in Anaheim on Wednesday, per Jamie Umbach of the Oilers' official site.
Dickinson skated between Trent Frederic and Kasperi Kapanen on the second line during Monday's practice, which is a good indication that Dickinson is closing on being ready to suit up in a game. According to Umbach, Dickinson's teammates and head coach Mike Babcock are hoping the 31-year-old center will be ready for Wednesday's road divisional matchup against the Ducks. Dickinson will certainly help the Oilers defensively once he's in the lineup, as Edmonton has struggled in its own zone to begin the year. The Ontario native missed the entirety of training camp, however, so it may take him a bit to get up to game speed.

Macklin Celebrini C | SJ
Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Late scratch for Monday's clash
Celebrini will miss Monday's road matchup against the Stars with a lower-body injury.
Celebrini took part in line rushes and the majority of warm-ups before he left the ice a few minutes early. Ultimately, the 20-year-old superstar deemed it was best to err on the side of caution early in the season and will sit out Monday. Prior to the injury news, he was off to a solid start to the 2026-27 campaign with five assists and nine shots on net across two outings. His status will be closely monitored over the coming days ahead of the Sharks' next contest on Thursday against the Blues.

Flames' Connor Zary: Waived by Calgary
Zary was placed on waivers by the Flames on Monday, Pat Steinberg of QR Calgary 770 AM reports.
Zary appeared in two of the Flames' first three regular-season games, recording no goals, an assist and a hit while averaging 13:38 of ice time. He made a career-high 74 regular-season appearances for the Flames last year and has recorded at least 25 goals in each of the past three seasons. The 25-year-old has appeared in 193 regular-season games at the NHL level and is a candidate to draw interest from other teams on the waiver wire.

Joseph Veleno C | NYR
Rangers' Joe Veleno: Won't play Tuesday
Veleno (lower body) won't be in the lineup for Tuesday's matchup against the Islanders, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports.
Veleno sustained the injury in Sunday's 4-2 win over Utah. He didn't participate in Monday's practice and will miss at least one game. Veleno has gone without a point in four games this season, but he has posted two shots on net, five blocked shots and seven hits.

Connor Bedard C | CHI
Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Skating with teammates
Bedard (shoulder) was on the ice for Monday's practice session, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports.
Bedard is not expected back in the lineup until November, but his presence at Monday's practice is certainly a step in the right direction. Given the length of his absence at the start of the season, the 21-year-old center is unlikely to reach the 70-point mark this year. Still, once cleared to play, Bedard figures to be a point-per-game player with significant offensive upside.

Denver Barkey C | PHI
Flyers' Denver Barkey: Activated by Philadelphia
Barkey (lower body) was activated off injured reserve Monday, per the NHL media site.
Barkey spent nearly a week on injured reserve to begin the regular season due to a lower-body injury he sustained during a preseason matchup. However, he'll make his regular-season debut Monday against the Lightning and is expected to be used as a winger during his first game back. Across 43 regular-season appearances with the Flyers last year, he recorded five goals, 12 assists, 43 hits, 19 blocked shots and 16 PIM while averaging 13:24 of ice time.

Matthew Poitras C | BOS
Bruins' Matthew Poitras: Ready to rock
Poitras (lower body) will be activated from injured reserve ahead of his return to the lineup against Ottawa on Monday, Jack Studley of Boston Hockey Now reports.
Poitras sat out the first three games of the 2026-27 campaign after getting hurt during training camp. He had one goal, eight shots on net and two blocked shots in three regular-season appearances for Boston in 2025-26. Poitras is poised to replace Sean Kuraly on the fourth line in Monday's matchup against the Senators.

J.T. Miller C | NYR
Rangers' J.T. Miller: Nets game-winner Sunday
Miller scored a goal on his lone shot in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Mammoth.
Miller gave the Rangers some breathing room at 12:47 of the third period, going to the net and redirecting Vladislav Gavrikov's point shot off his skate and past Vejmelka to make it 3-1. Utah answered just over two minutes later, allowing Miller's tally to stand as the game-winner. It was the captain's first goal of the season as New York extended its winning streak to three games, snapping a slow start to the season that saw him record no points, a plus-one rating and five shots on goal in his first three appearances.

Nick Schmaltz C | UTA
Mammoth's Nick Schmaltz: Nets PP goal in loss Sunday
Schmaltz scored a power-play goal on three shots in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Rangers. He also added two PIM and posted a minus-3 rating.
Schmaltz tied the game at 14:29 of the second period, converting a rebound past Igor Shesterkin for his fourth goal of the season. The tally extended his season-opening goal streak to three games. With 13 shots in his first three outings, expect Schmaltz to remain involved offensively for Utah as a go-to scoring threat.
