Chris Conley WR | SF
Texans' Chris Conley: Showing well in camp
Conley is off to a strong start at training camp, John Harris of the Texans' official site reports.
Harris notes Conley has been difficult for defensive backs to cover in one-on-one matchups and is making catches at every level. He was also featured extensively during Houston's two-minute drill Tuesday, reaching high and behind him on a fourth-down catch to extend the drive. Conley had the fifth-most targets for the Texans in 2021 and was headed for a similar fate in 2022, but the uncertain status of rookie John Metchie (illness) plus Danny Amendola's retirement reshuffled the depth chart behind Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins. Conley is in the mix to be the team's primary slot receiver this season.

Courtland Sutton WR | DEN
Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Needs to step up in 2022
Sutton could take on a heightened role in the Denver passing game in 2022 after fellow wideout Tim Patrick suffered a season-ending knee injury Tuesday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Sutton already profiled as Denver's No. 1 wideout entering 2022 after he finished last season with 58 catches for 776 yards and two touchdowns in 17 games, but the loss of Patrick leaves even more target volume to go around. KJ Hamler is the leading candidate to step into a regular role in three-receiver sets and should benefit from a pure playing-time standpoint, but he, Sutton and Jerry Jeudy along with Denver's tight ends will all be collectively tasked with picking up the pass-catching slack sans Patrick. Even before Patrick's injury, Sutton already looked poised for an uptick in production with Denver making a significant upgrade at quarterback this offseason with the acquisition of Russell Wilson.

Michael Woods II WR | DEN
Browns' Mike Woods: Gets reps due to injuries
Woods has received additional reps thus far in training camp due to several other wideouts missing time with injuries, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Woods, a rookie sixth-round draft pick out of Oklahoma, showed potential during Tuesday's session in an 11-on-11 drill, when he spun past a cornerback to haul in a deep pass. The Browns are dealing with injuries to Amari Cooper (ankle), Anthony Schwartz (knee), David Bell (foot), Javon Wims (illness) and Isaiah Weston (knee), but the team brass continues to state there are no plans to bring in reinforcements at the position. If that's the case, Woods could still find himself buried on the depth chart to begin the season.

Kadarius Toney WR | CLE
Giants' Kadarius Toney: Could add versatility
Giants head coach Brian Daboll indicated Monday that he has approached Toney about adding positional flexibility this season, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Daboll didn't specify what type of flexibility he was referring to, but Toney was spotted throwing a pass during Friday's practice and was a quarterback during high school. It's feasible that he could see some snaps as a wildcat quarterback this season, though his fantasy value is clearly tied to his performance as a wide receiver. On that note, Toney has been gaining some popularity as a late-round draft target in anticipation of how he could grow in a new, potentially dynamic offense under Daboll.

Marvin Jones WR | DET
Jaguars' Marvin Jones: Starting spot secure
Jones is listed as one of Jacksonville's starting wide receivers, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
The 32-year-old operated as the Jaguars' No. 1 wideout last year and finished with 73 receptions for 832 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games, so it's not a surprise he'll be a starter again in 2022. The offseason signings of Christian Kirk and Zay Jones should bring more firepower to the aerial attack, which could open things up for QB Trevor Lawrence and Jones, whose 11.4 yards per catch last year was his lowest since his rookie campaign in 2012.
-
Tutu Atwell WR | LAR
Rams' Tutu Atwell: Competing for a role
Atwell is part of a group of players currently serving as the No. 3 wide receiver while Van Jefferson misses time due to knee surgery, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Atwell's biggest asset as a receiver is his blistering 4.35 speed, which matches one of Jefferson's best attributes. Atwell is very undersized at 5-foot-9, 155 pounds, however, and missed more than half of the 2021 season due to shoulder surgery, which likely puts him behind Ben Skowronek in the current pecking order, with Jacob Harris and Brandon Powell also jockeying for playing time. The Rams are giving Atwell the opportunity to perform in a variety of routes during training camp, however, so the possibility of a carved out role for the 2021 second-round pick is there if Jefferson's recovery from surgery is slower than expected.

Ben Skowronek WR | PIT
Rams' Ben Skowronek: Working in committee
Skowronek is filling the No. 3 receiver role along with a handful of other players while Van Jefferson is out due to a knee injury, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Skowronek has the most in-game experience out of the glut of receivers sharing time with him, and he has a more robust skill set that matches Jefferson's do-it-all approach to receiving. Skowronek's versatility means he can block and play any of the receiver positions, but he did have a troubling three drops on 20 targets and doesn't have the field-stretching speed fellow committee members Tutu Atwell, Jacob Harris and Brandon Powell possess. Seeing Skowronek in action during the preseason will give fantasy managers a better idea of the type of usage coach Sean McVay will be looking for out of the second-year player.

Austin Trammell WR | JAC
Austin Trammell: Receives tryout with Houston
Trammell (undisclosed) had a tryout with the Texans on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Trammell had joined the Falcons in January but was limited in minicamp with the unknown injury. He then was waived June 16 with a non-football injury designation. His appearance at the tryout implies he has returned to full health, and if it doesn't work out with the Texans, he will continue to try to make a team elsewhere.

Jalen Reagor WR | MIA
Eagles' Jalen Reagor: Making case for roster spot
Reagor had a strong showing in the Eagles' first full padded practice Tuesday as he fights for a roster spot, Glenn Erby of USA Today reports.
The 2020 first-round pick has been reduced to a fight for a roster spot rather than a starting role after a pair of disappointing seasons to start his career. A trade and a fresh start elsewhere likely provides his best path to fantasy relevance, but if that doesn't occur, he's at least making a good case to serve as the Eagles' fourth or fifth wideout. He caught a long touchdown pass in practice Tuesday between a pair of defenders, but he'll have to keep practicing at a high level to earn a job.

Kawaan Baker WR | GB
Saints' Kawaan Baker: Suspended six games
Baker has been suspended six games for violating the league's PED policy, Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network reports.
Baker will be first available to return during the Saints' Week 7 clash against the Cardinals on Thursday Night Football. After being selected 255th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by New Orleans, Baker spent his rookie season jumping back and forth between the team's active roster and practice squad, where he ultimately appeared in two games on special teams. Given the second-year receiver entered camp fighting for a roster spot, the near future doesn't present a clear path to targets for Baker, as the Saints have Michael Thomas (ankle) back, drafted Chris Olave 11th overall in this year's NFL Draft and signed Jarvis Landry back in May, not to mention Marquez Callaway and Tre-Quan Smith's established rapport in this offense.
