49ers GM John Lynch said Tuesday that Pearsall (hamstring), who remains on the active/non-football injury list, is expected to miss at least the first four practices of training camp, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.

Lynch said Pearsall will miss the first block of training camp, which consists of roughly four sessions, due to a hamstring injury he suffered away from team facilities. Meanwhile, Brandon Aiyuk is among veterans reporting for camp Tuesday, though he remains dissatisfied with his contract. It's encouraging that Pearsall doesn't appear to be staring at a lengthy absence, but the 2024 first-round pick's opportunities will depend on a combination of his health and the impression he makes on the coaching staff, although an Aiyuk trade would clear the rookie's path to a starting job.

Coach Sean Payton noted Tuesday that Sutton will "be here and ready to go" for training camp Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.

There had been some speculation that Sutton's contract status could impact his training camp participation, but it appears as though Denver's top wide receiver will join his teammates once practices commence. With Jerry Jeudy in Cleveland, Sutton could be in line for bigger volume in the Broncos' passing game given the lack of reliable, established options behind him on the depth chart.

Aiyuk, who officially requested a trade last week, is present for the start of 49ers training camp Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Aiyuk will be among veterans reporting to team facilities despite his outspoken desire for a new contract and recent request for a trade. Showing up will allow the wideout to avoid fines, as teams are required to penalize players on their rookie contracts $40,000 per day missed of camp, but he could still opt to work on the sidelines rather than participate in on-field team drills. That wouldn't be a surprising choice, as it would allow Aiyuk to maintain some leverage and avoid injury despite being physically present. Commanders GM Adam Peters said Tuesday that Aiyuk is unlikely to end up in Washington via trade, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports. He has also been the linked the Steelers, Patriots and Broncos among others in trade rumors, but the most likely outcome is still that Aiyuk plays out the season with the 49ers before reaching free agency.

Frustrated with extension contract negotiations, Aiyuk requested a trade earlier this month. Washington has been oft-mentioned as a fit due to the wideout's friendship with the Commanders' new franchise quarterback Jayden Daniels as well as the team's shaky wideout depth behind Terry McLaurin, but it doesn't sound like the front office has any expectation of making such a splashy trade before the start of the season. Scheduled to play out 2024 under the fifth-year option on his rookie contract, Aiyuk may hold out from training camp even though he'd accrue $50,000 in mandatory fines each day.

The Texans waived Wayne (undisclosed) with an injury designation Monday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.

In a corresponding move, the Texans inked veteran running back Cam Akers. The nature and severity of Wayne's injury is unclear at this point, but assuming he clears waivers, he'll revert to injured reserve, meaning he'd miss the entire season barring an injury settlement.

McLaurin said this summer that the offseason felt "like the start of something new, special," Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.

The Commanders have mostly addressed shortcomings with band-aids throughout McLaurin's tenure, but the changes this offseason were drastic, highlighted by new head coach Dan Quinn and No. 2 overall draft pick Jayden Daniels. The latter figures to become the 10th different starting QB that McLaurin has played with in the NFL, and Kliff Kingsbury is the fourth offensive coordinator. The veteran wideout said Daniels was impressive during spring practices, showing "amazing" touch on his deep ball and "really good anticipation over the middle of the field." It remains to be seen how that translates to actual games, but there's at least some chance of McLaurin experiencing above-average QB play for the first time in his career.

Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said Monday the team hasn't yet held any discussions with the NFL over a possible suspension for Rice, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.

Rice is presumably facing a multi-game suspension for his involvement in a high-speed, six-car crash in April in which he was charged with aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury and collision involving injury. He was also allegedly involved in an assault in a nightclub in May, per Toluwani Osibamowo of KCUR.org. Though no charges were filed in the latter incident, Rice could still be subject to related league discipline. The second-year wideout was a full participant in offseason activities for the Chiefs, and given that the NFL typically allows legal processes to play out in full before assigning punishments, clarity on Rice's potential suspension may not be immediately forthcoming.

Worthy (illness) is not practicing Monday, Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star reports.

Worthy missed OTAs and mandatory minicamp due to a hamstring injury before retaking the practice field last week, and though he's now dealing with an illness, there's no indication the rookie first-round pick will be sidelined long. He got off to a quick start, connecting with quarterback Patrick Mahomes for a deep touchdown during Sunday's practice. Once he's back on the field, Worthy will resume competing for first-team reps alongside Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown.

Reed (undisclosed) is dealing with a minor injury and shouldn't be on the active/non-football injury list for long, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Packers GM Brian Gutekunst told reporters Monday that Reed "tweaked something" during his youth camp this summer. The Packers' leading receiver from 2023 won't practice at the start of training camp, but it doesn't sound like there's any concern about his Week 1 status. Reed mostly worked out of the slot as a rookie and again figures to get most of his playing time inside, perhaps insulating him from competition while Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks and Bo Melton battle for perimeter snaps.

Reed (undisclosed) will open the Packers' training camp on the active/non-football injury list, Bill Huber of SI.com reports.

Reed will be on the sidelines as Green Bay kicks off their training camp Monday, dealing with an undisclosed non-football injury. The wide receiver is eligible to return to practice at any point and ultimately play this preseason, which the Packers will begin on the road at Cleveland on Saturday, Aug. 10.
