  • Tom Kennedy WR | DET

Tom Kennedy: Let loose by Lions

    Detroit released Kennedy on Tuesday.

Kennedy has bounced between Detroit's practice squad and active roster since coming into the league in 2019, but he didn't get into any regular-season games last season after playing in 19 contests across 2021 and 2022. Though the Lions' wideout corps is currently thin, the 28-year-old wasn't able to land a spot on the 53-man roster after catching six of nine targets for 44 yards during preseason play.

  • Danny Gray WR | PHI

Danny Gray: Let go by San Francisco

Gray (undisclosed) was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday.

Gray was held out of practice with an undisclosed issue Wednesday, and it's unclear if he was waived with an injury designation Tuesday. If he was ultimately waived/injured, then the 2022 third-round pick will hit waivers before reverting to San Francisco's IR if he goes unclaimed. If his waiver didn't include an injury designation, he'll become eligible to sign with a new team if he's not picked up off waivers. Gray did not appear in a game last season after being sidelined on IR with a shoulder injury until late December.

  • Ty Scott WR | SEA

Ty Scott: Dropped on cutdown day

Scott was waived by the Seahawks on Tuesday.

Scott signed with the Chiefs in May of 2023 as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri State. However, he was released ahead of last regular season and went unsigned before joining up with Seattle on July 25. The 25-year-old will now hit waivers for the third time in his career.

  • John Ross WR | PHI

    John Ross: Released by Eagles

Ross was released by the Eagles on Tuesday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Ross was able to reel in four catches for 37 yards while also logging two kickoff returns for 68 yards during the preseason with Philadelphia. The wide receiver hasn't appeared in an NFL contest since 2021 with the Giants, and he'll now likely look for another opportunity elsewhere.

  • Ryan Miller WR | NYG

Ryan Miller: Waived by Tampa Bay

Miller was waived by the Buccaneers on Tuesday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.

The wide receiver signed a reserve/future contract with the Bucs in January after spending 2023 on the team's practice squad. Miller did appear in one regular-season game last year, playing on 12 special-teams snaps and two offensive snaps.

  • Hayden Hatten WR | SEA

Hayden Hatten: Dropped on cutdown day

The Seahawks waived Hatten on Tuesday.

Hatten signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in May, and he was not able to carve out a roster spot this preseason. The 24-year-old wideout will now have to pass through waivers before becoming eligible to sign with a new team ahead of the 2024 campaign.

  • Isaiah Winstead: Waived by Jets

Winstead was waived by the Jets on Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.

Winstead was signed by San Francisco as an undrafted free agent last May and spent most of the season on the team's practice squad. He signed with the Jets in early August of this year and got four targets during preseason play but didn't catch any of them.

  • Brandon Smith WR | PIT

Brandon Smith: Doesn't get roster spot

The Jets waived Smith on Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.

Smith spent time in the Dallas and Arizona organizations prior to being signed by the Jets in early August, though he's yet to get into an NFL regular-season game. The receiver out of Iowa enjoyed a strong preseason for New York, catching all five of his targets for a team-leading 120 yards. That could help him land a spot on New York's practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • Tejhaun Palmer WR | ARI

Tejhaun Palmer: Let go by Arizona

Palmer was waived by the Cardinals on Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

The wide receiver was selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Cardinals after catching 47 passes for 858 yards and eight scores at UAB last season. Though he has 4.45 speed, Palmer also turned 24 in May.

  • Lance McCutcheon: Let loose on cut-down day

The Jets waived McCutcheon on Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.

McCutcheon finished last season on New York's practice squad and signed a reserve/future deal with the organization in January. The wideout struggled in preseason play, catching just two of seven targets for 25 yards.
