Bills' Joshua Palmer: Produces game-winning TD
Palmer caught one of his two targets for a 34-yard touchdown in Sunday's 36-31 win over the Texans.
Palmer's only targets in Week 1 came on the last two offensive plays of the game for the Bills. Josh Allen missed the wide receiver on a deep ball he couldn't quite react to before delivering a laser between Kamari Lassiter and Calen Bullock to Palmer for what ended up being the game-winning touchdown. Palmer's 18 offensive snaps prove the wide receiver has some week-to-week upside despite not being a primary option in Buffalo's offense.

Bills' Joshua Palmer: Outside top three on depth chart
The Bills list all of DJ Moore, Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman (foot) ahead of Palmer on their unofficial depth chart for Week 1 posted Tuesday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
During his first season in Buffalo in 2025, Palmer produced a 22-303-0 receiving line on 37 targets over his 12 appearances before missing both of the team's playoff contests due to an ankle injury. Though he was declared fully healthy ahead of training camp, Palmer looks like he may have been surpassed in the pecking order at receiver by Coleman, a 2024 second-round pick who showed promise as a rookie but fell out of favor with the Bills toward the end of the past season. While the Bills retained most of their offensive coaching staff from 2025 with Joe Brady getting promoted from coordinator to head coach after Sean McDermott was dismissed, Coleman appears to be entering the upcoming season with a clean slate and could be prioritized ahead of Palmer, whose need as a vertical threat had already been lessened following the acquisition of Moore.

Bills' Joshua Palmer: Feeling healthy ahead of new season
After working off to the side during OTAs, Palmer (ankle) has been back as a participant during mandatory minicamp, Alec White and Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site report. "I'm feeling a lot better, starting to feel a lot more like myself," Palmer said after Wednesday's practice. "(I'm) close to pre-injury."
Palmer was plagued by the injury for a good chunk of the 2025 season in and out of the lineup and ended up missing both of the team's playoff games, but he's feeling much better as prep for the new campaign gets underway. After posting a disappointing 22-303-0 line in his first season with the Bills, Palmer should be able to play more and do more in his next go-around. However, with DJ Moore, Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid and James Cook all ahead of him in the pecking order, Palmer's upside is probably capped unless the Bills get struck with a number of injuries to their passing game.

Bills' Joshua Palmer: Does side work during Day 2 of OTAs
Palmer (ankle) spent most of Tuesday's OTA session working to the side, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Palmer missed Buffalo's two postseason games last season after he was placed on IR due to an ankle injury. It appears he's not quite at 100 percent yet given his limitation to mostly side work Tuesday. However, there's no indication at this point that Palmer is at risk of not being ready for Week 1 of the upcoming regular season.

The Bills placed Palmer (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday.
Palmer was held out of all drills Wednesday through Friday due to an ankle injury before Buffalo ruled him out for Sunday's wild-card game at Jacksonville. Considering he's required to miss at least four contests while on IR, his 2025 campaign is over. Palmer will finish it with a 22-303-0 line on 37 targets in 12 regular-season appearances.

Palmer (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's AFC wild-card game against the Jaguars.
Palmer was held out of practice all week due to an ankle injury, which is severe enough for the veteran wideout to be sidelined for the Bills' playoff opener. With Palmer sidelined, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports that Keon Coleman -- who was a healthy inactive in four of the Bills' final eight games of the regular season -- is expected to be active against Jacksonville. Brandin Cooks and Tyrell Shavers are also in line for more snaps on offense in Palmer's absence.

With Palmer having been deemed a 'DNP' in Wednesday's walkthrough, the wideout now has one more opportunity to practice before the Bills assign injury designations for Sunday's playoff opener against the Jaguars. Palmer recorded an 84 percent snap share in the team's Week 18 win over the Jets, but at this stage it's unclear if the wideout is dealing with a setback related to the ankle injury that he previously dealt with in Weeks 13-15, or if his current issue is something new.

Palmer missed Weeks 13 and 14 with an ankle injury, but up until Wednesday he'd been a full practice participant ever since returning to action Week 15. It's possible this is a new issue, and there's no assurance of a significant role in the playoffs even if Palmer's injury turns out to be minor. Buffalo's depth chart has been fluid apart from Khalil Shakir's role in the slot, but Brandin Cooks and Tyrell Shavers have contributed more than Palmer of late. Palmer played a season-high 63 snaps on offense during Sunday's win, but he had just one catch to show for it.
