Bates finished the 2022 season with 14 catches for 108 yards and a touchdown on 22 targets in 16 games.

The 2021 fourth-round pick mostly served as a blocker, playing no fewer than 20 offensive snaps and no more than 45 in his 16 appearances. Bates had 249 receiving yards as a rookie and could perhaps have a larger role in 2023, but he'll likely always be used as a blocker first and foremost, given his 6-6, 259-pound frame and lack of speed.

Turner finished the 2022 season with two catches for 23 yards in 10 games.

The rookie fifth-round pick out of Nevada took 51 percent of Washington's offensive snaps Week 5 (his NFL debut) and 93 percent Week 6. Both of Turner's receptions came in the latter contest, and while he made eight appearances thereafter and saw four more targets, he didn't catch another pass once the Commanders got John Bates and then Logan Thomas back from injuries. Turner turns 23 in March and could be in the mix for the passing-down role next year, especially if Thomas is released this offseason (which would add up to $6.9 million in cap space for Washington, per OverTheCap).

Saubert caught 15 of 24 targets for 148 yards and one touchdown while playing all 17 games in the 2022 season.

Saubert finished a relatively quiet 2022 season, as he played at least 50 percent of offensive snaps just three times across 17 games. The veteran tight end provided solid depth at the position, while rookie Greg Dulcich emerged as the leader of the Broncos' tight-end corps for most of the season. Saubert is set to be free agent this offseason, but his dynamic skill set may be attractive to a new coaching staff in Denver ahead of the 2023 campaign. If the 28-year-old decides to return to the Broncos, he would likely continue to contribute in a depth role next season.

Okwuegbunam caught 10 of 18 targets for 95 yards and one touchdown while playing eight games in the 2022 season.

Okwuegbunam entered the 2022 campaign with high expectations following the departure of Noah Fant and arrival of quarterback Russell Wilson in the offseason. However, the veteran tight end was a complete afterthought in the Broncos' struggling passing attack throughout the season, as he appeared in only eight games. Okwuegbunam eventually ceded No. 1 tight end duties to rookie Greg Dulcich (hamstring), who became a reliable option for Wilson during stretches of the season. Looking ahead to next year, Dulcich figures to lead Denver's tight end corps, but the 24-year-old Okwuegbunam may have a chance to prove himself. A new coaching staff should offer him a fresh start with the chance to earn more playing time in 2023. Okwuegbunam is entering the final year of his rookie deal and is set to become a free agent in 2024.

Hurst caught four of six targets for 45 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's 24-17 wild-card round win over the Ravens.

Hurst had a couple of breaks go against him in this one. He lost a fumble in the second quarter and had a touchdown reversed on replay, coming just short of the goal line on an 18-yard catch. The tight end finished second on the team in receiving yards behind Ja'Marr Chase (84) while tying Tee Higgins for second behind Chase in both targets and catches. Hurst seems to have put his late-season calf injury behind him heading into the Bengals' trip to Buffalo for the AFC divisional round.

Andrews caught five of 10 targets for 73 yards in Sunday's 24-17 wild-card round loss to the Bengals.

Andrews unsurprisingly led the Ravens in targets, catches and receiving yards, but Baltimore was eliminated from the playoffs in a game that came down to an incomplete pass in the end zone on the final play. The 27-year-old tight end regressed from 1,361 yards and nine touchdowns in 2021 to just 847 yards and five touchdowns in the 2022 regular season, but Andrews remains the unquestioned top pass catcher in Baltimore's run-heavy offense heading into 2023.

Bellinger caught both his targets for 17 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-24 wild-card win over the Vikings.

The rookie tight end hadn't scored a TD since Week 6, but Bellinger was on the other end of a nine-yard toss from Daniel Jones early in the third quarter that gave the Giants a 24-14 lead. Bellinger has shown flashes of upside in his brief career, but they didn't come against the team he'll face in the divisional round, as the Eagles held him to only three catches for 19 yards in their first meeting back in Week 14.

Hockenson caught 10 of 11 targets for 129 yards in Sunday's 31-24 wild-card round loss to the Giants.

The Giants were able to limit Justin Jefferson's (7-47-0) big-play ability by shading safety help in his direction, which opened up huge holes in the middle of the field for Hockenson to feast on. It was a bittersweet finish to the 2022 season for the receiving tight end, who produced new highs in receptions (86) and receiving yards (914) across 17 games between the Lions and Vikings. Hockenson thrived following the midseason trade to Minnesota, and he remains under contract next year, putting him in the upper echelon of tight ends heading into 2023.

Kolar is inactive for Sunday night's playoff game against the Bengals.

Kolar saw added snaps in the Ravens' regular-season finale last weekend with the team resting Mark Andrews. With Andrews back in the lineup Sunday, Kolar is the odd man out in Baltimore's tight end corps in the team's postseason opener.
