  • Browns' Harrison Bryant: Another four-target game

Bryant caught three of four targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 31-30 loss to the Jets in Week 2.

Bryant had four targets for the second consecutive week and has the edge over primary tight end David Njoku (six targets in two games) in that category. Each tight end has two red-zone targets but neither has scored in 2022.

  • David Njoku TE | LAC

Browns' David Njoku: More activity Week 2

Njoku caught three of five targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 31-30 loss to the Jets in Week 2.

After a quiet opening game in which he was targeted just once, Njoku was back on top of the tight end group with his five targets. He was on the field for 94 percent of the offensive snaps (63 of 67 snaps), a greater share than he had in Week 1. This is still an offense dominated by its running backs, but quarterback Jacoby Brissett looked downfield more in Week 2 and averaged 8.5 yards per attempt, up from 4.3 against the Panthers, so the Cleveland passing game is beginning to show glimmers of upside.

  • Dalton Schultz TE | HOU

Cowboys' Dalton Schultz: Set to undergo MRI on knee

Schultz is slated to undergo an MRI on his right knee Monday, Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News reports.

The tight end suffered a knee injury late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win over the Bengals. Prior to his exit from the contest, Schultz caught two of his four targets for 18 yards. For now, his Week 3 status is unclear, but Gehlken does note that Schultz appears to have avoided damage to his ACL.

  • Cole Kmet TE | CHI

    Bears' Cole Kmet: Blanked again

Kmet failed to catch a pass in the Bears' 27-10 loss to the Packers on Sunday.

Kmet has been targeted only once in each of the Bears' games so far, though Justin Fields attempted just 11 passes against Green Bay so there wasn't much production to go around. After starting the season against two outstanding defenses, and facing terrible weather conditions in Week 1, Chicago's schedule should ease up significantly, which should lead to Kmet showing fast improvement.

  • Broncos' Albert Okwuegbunam: Held catchless in win

Okwuegbunam was targeted twice, but failed to record a catch in Sunday's 16-9 win over the Texans.

Okwuegbunam was a non-factor in the contest on a day when Russell Wilson completed just 14 total passes and the team only managed to score 16 points. The 24-year-old had an opportunity to become more involved when Jerry Jeudy exited the game with a rib injury, but the Broncos offense could not get much going. The lone touchdown of the day came in the fourth quarter when Russell Wilson hooked up with tight end Eric Saubert on a 22-yard score. Fantasy managers hoping that Okwuegbunam could make a big leap this year should exercise caution while Denver's offense finds its groove. The 6-foot-5, 258-pounder will look to get more involved in Week 3 when the Broncos host the 49ers.

  • Kyle Pitts TE | ATL

Falcons' Kyle Pitts: Limited opportunity in loss

Pitts recorded two receptions on three targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Rams.

Marcus Mariota attempted only 26 passes on the day, though Pitts' target total was still surprising. He managed receptions of only 13 and six yards and now has 19 receiving yards in each of his first two games of the season. If there is a positive to take away, Drake London appears to be emerging as a legitimate offensive weapon and could take defensive attention away from Pitts.

  • Tyler Higbee TE | LAR

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Seven receptions in win

Higbee caught seven of nine targets for 71 yards in Sunday's 31-27 win over the Falcons.

For the second straight game, Higbee was second in targets behind Cooper Kupp and churned out consistent yardage for Matthew Stafford. The veteran tight end fell one yard shy of scoring his first touchdown of the year in the first quarter, but he had an otherwise solid night. Higbee's 71 receiving yards were the most he's had in a game since 2019, when he put up a monster 35-438-1 line over a four-game stretch. Heading into a Week 3 matchup with the Cardinals, which just gave up 50 yards and a touchdown to Darren Waller, Higbee looks to be locked in as one of the Rams' top receiving options.

  • Hayden Hurst TE | LAC

Bengals' Hayden Hurst: Five catches Sunday

Hurst caught five of seven targets for 24 yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Cowboys.

The veteran tight end saw healthy target volume for the second straight game, finishing just behind Tee Higgins (10) and Ja'Marr Chase (nine), but Hurst's longest reception went for only eight yards. With the Bengals' offensive line having major issues protecting Joe Burrow, Hurst could continue to be a bail-out option for the QB heading into a Week 3 clash with the Jets.

  • Zach Ertz TE | WAS

Cardinals' Zach Ertz: High catch total in Week 2

Ertz caught eight passes for 75 yards on 11 targets in an overtime win against Las Vegas on Sunday.

Ertz was a steadying presence for the struggling Arizona passing game, pacing the Cardinals in catches and receiving yardage while tying for the team lead in targets. Ertz may well be Kyler Murray's most reliable target while DeAndre Hopkins is suspended, especially if Marquise Brown (six catches for 68 yards on 11 targets) continues to flop in the WR1 role. The Cardinals face Tennessee in Week 3.

  • Darren Waller TE | CAR

Raiders' Darren Waller: Finds end zone

Waller caught six passes for 50 yards and one touchdown on eight targets against Arizona on Sunday.

Quarterback Derek Carr struggled somewhat in this game, keeping Waller's production contained despite the sizable target volume. The veteran tight end should nevertheless have a chance to be heavily involved again when the Raiders face Tennessee in Week 3.
