Boston Scott RB | PIT
Boston Scott: Goes to Pittsburgh's practice squad
The Steelers signed Scott to their practice squad Friday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
Scott spent the preseason with the Rams and totaled a team-leading 157 rushing yards on 36 carries while adding 10 yards on three catches across three exhibition contests. However, the veteran ball carrier was released Sunday, and he'll now add to Pittsburgh's organizational depth at running back. Scott has extensive NFL experience, totaling 1,295 career rushing yards with 16 touchdowns on 302 carries and 71 receptions for 566 yards and another touchdown over 75 regular-season games with Philadelphia covering six seasons.

Deneric Prince RB | NE
Deneric Prince: Joins Miami's practice squad
The Dolphins signed Prince to the practice squad Friday.
Prince built some momentum during the preseason with Kansas City, and he now resurfaces in one of the only landing spots around the league as intriguing as his previous offense. Coach Mike McDaniel's rushing scheme seems like one Prince could thrive in, if given an opportunity, but his path to game-day activation is murky. The Dolphins have reason to be confident in both Jaylen Wright and Jeff Wilson as capable contributors if either of Raheem Mostert or De'Von Achane are forced to miss any time.

Rico Dowdle RB | PIT
Cowboys' Rico Dowdle: Will focus on offense in 2024
Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said Thursday that Dowdle will get less work on special teams this season due to an expected increase in his workload on offense, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The South Carolina product saw a career-high 106 touches over 16 regular-season games last season, leading to 505 scrimmage yards and four total touchdowns, but those numbers figure to spike significantly in 2024. It's still unclear how the backfield workload will be divided between Dowdle, Ezekiel Elliott and recent free-agent signee Dalvin Cook, who will begin the season on the practice squad, but it wouldn't be a surprise if Dowdle handled at least a plurality of the touches out of the gate given his versatility and three-down skill set.

Kene Nwangwu RB | NYJ
Kene Nwangwu: Waived after failed physical
The Saints waived Nwangwu (undisclosed) on Thursday with a failed physical designation, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Nwangwu was claimed off waivers by the Saints on Wednesday after he was cut by the Vikings on Tuesday. The 2021 fourth-round pick was unable to pass his physical, and he will revert back to the waiver wire. Nwangwu appeared in nine regular-season games for the Vikings last season, during which he turned five carries into 13 yards while playing 106 snaps (13 on offense, 93 on special teams).

Jaret Patterson RB | LAC
Jaret Patterson: Waived by Bolts
The Chargers waived Patterson on Thursday.
Patterson made the Chargers' initial 53-man roster, but he was subsequently cut after the team claimed fellow RB Hassan Haskins on waivers. Also in the Los Angeles backfield mix ahead of Week 1 are Gus Edwards, J.K. Dobbins and rookie Kimani Vidal.

Louis Rees-Zammit WR | JAC
Louis Rees-Zammit: Heads to Florida
Rees-Zammit signed with the Jaguars' practice squad Thursday.
Rees-Zammit signed with the Chiefs in March after a successful rugby career in Wales. He wasn't able to survive Kansas City's final cuts, but he'll now have an opportunity to further develop on Jacksonville's practice squad.

Trayveon Williams RB | CLE
Bengals' Trayveon Williams: Back with Cincinnati
The Bengals re-signed Williams on Thursday.
Williams has returned to the Bengals' 53-man roster after he was released Wednesday to make room for K.J. Henry, whom Cincinnati picked up off waivers. The sixth-year running back remains firmly behind Chase Brown and Zack Moss on the Bengals' depth chart, so he's expected to be used primarily as a special-teams player in 2024.

Gary Brightwell RB | CIN
Gary Brightwell: Gets chance with Cleveland
Brightwell signed with the Browns' practice squad Thursday, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Brightwell spent camp with the Jaguars after losing his spot with the Giants, but he was unable to make the team's final roster. He'll now get a chance to work his way up to Cleveland's 53-man roster, which is currently dealing with multiple injuries at running back.

Kendall Milton RB | CIN
Kendall Milton: Joins Bengals' practice squad
Milton signed with the Bengals' practice squad Thursday.
Milton failed to make the Eagles' initial 53-man roster Tuesday after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in May, but he's already found a new home in Cincinnati. The Georgia product rushed 121 times for 790 yards and 14 touchdowns across 13 games during his final collegiate season.
