  • Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Officially out for MNF

Edwards-Helaire (illness) won't play Monday against the Saints, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.

Edwards-Helaire was previously considered doubtful, so it isn't surprising that he won't be making his season debut Monday. Kareem Hunt, Samaje Perine and Carson Steele will continue to hold down the fort in a Kansas City backfield that's without Edwards-Helaire and Isiah Pacheco (fibula). The Chiefs will be on bye Week 6, so Edwards-Helaire's next chance to take the field will be a Week 7 Super Bowl rematch against the 49ers. He first will need to be activated from the reserve/non-football injury list to be eligible to play.

  • Blake Corum RB | LAR

Rams' Blake Corum: Sees 11 snaps on offense

Corum rushed five times for 25 yards and caught one pass for eight yards during Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Packers. He also returned three kicks for 74 yards.

Corum's second in-game action on offense was much more impactful than his garbage time usage in Week 2, as he was featured in the Rams' second drive of the game. He led off with a 12-yard rush and ended up with five touches on the drive before Kyren Williams came in and scored a short one-yard touchdown. Ronnie Rivers, who acted as the backup to Williams in the Rams' first four games, was used only on special teams in the loss. Corum's usage after the Week 6 bye will be particularly telling on whether he's officially supplanted Rivers as the primary backup, but with Williams still commanding the lion's share of the rushing attack (22-102-1 on Sunday), Corum's value will be capped barring an injury to the Rams' star running back.

  • Ronnie Rivers RB | LAR

Rams' Ronnie Rivers: Reverts to special teams role

Rivers did not record a snap on offense and played 11 snaps on special teams during Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Packers.

For the first time this season, Rivers did not act as the backup to Kyren Williams, with Blake Corum filling the role instead. Whether this is a one-game test for the third-round rookie before the Rams go on bye in Week 6, or if Corum has officially jumped Rivers on the depth chart remains to be seen, but Corum notably produced very similar numbers to what Rivers had been producing with his touches (five rushes for 25 yards, one catch for eight yards). Regardless, the role of Williams hasn't changed, as he rushed 22 times for 102 yards and a touchdown, so neither Rivers nor Corum have much immediate value barring an injury to Williams.

  • Justice Hill RB | BAL

Ravens' Justice Hill: Takes back seat Sunday

Hill had five carries for 17 yards and added one catch for eight yards in Sunday's win over the Bengals.

The veteran's usage in the passing game regressed Sunday as Baltimore needed to target deeper parts of the field to mount its second-half comeback. Hill has two games with a high target volume -- eight in Week 1, six in Week 4 -- but has otherwise gotten two targets per game on average. Baltimore hosts Washington in what projects to be a high-scoring game in Week 6, and Hill's usage could tick up as a result. Still, Hill is really only on the fantasy radar in deeper PPR leagues.

  • Saints' Kendre Miller: Ruled out for MNF

Miller (hamstring) won't suit up Monday against the Chiefs, Ross Jackson of LouisianaSports.net reports.

This development isn't surprising considering Miller was previously considered doubtful. He returned to practice in the week leading up to Monday's game but remains on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. Miller's next chance to play will be Sunday against the Buccaneers, and his return would be preceded by an official move activating the second-year running back from IR.

  • Myles Gaskin RB | SEA

Vikings' Myles Gaskin: Comes off bench against Jets

Gaskin had two carries for two yards and one reception for 11 yards on his lone target in Sunday's win over the Jets in London.

Gaskin played five snaps on offense as he became the backup running back after Aaron Jones left with a hip injury. He could be the backup running back to Ty Chandler if Jones is sidelined after Minnesota's bye in Week 6.

  • Jaguars' D'Ernest Johnson: Three touches Week 5

Johnson rushed once for one yard and caught two of three targets for nine yards during Sunday's 37-34 win against the Colts.

Jacksonville split playing time in the backfield fairly evenly, as Johnson played 13 offensive snaps compared to 23 for Tank Bigsby and 22 for Travis Etienne. Bigsby has taken hold of a larger role as the season has progressed, with he and Etienne now appearing to be in a timeshare. Johnson remains locked in as the No. 3 tailback and likely won't have a significant role if the other two can stay healthy.

  • Ty Johnson RB | BUF

Bills' Ty Johnson: Low volume in Week 5 loss

Johnson carried three times for 15 yards and was not targeted in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Texans.

Johnson was out there for a season-high 36 percent of the offensive snaps, but with the Bills playing catch-up for most of the day, there wasn't much room for change-of-pace carries. Johnson remains ahead of Ray Davis in the pecking order behind starter James Cook, as Davis played only two offensive snaps Sunday. That said, the No. 2 spot in Buffalo is strictly an insurance or deep reserve fantasy play, as Cook is serving as a bell-cow back and is even getting goal-line carries this season. Of the team's eight rushing touchdowns, Cook has four, Josh Allen has two, and Johnson and Davis have one apiece.

  • Steelers' Aaron Shampklin: Tallies 14 rushing yards

Shampklin rushed four times for 14 yards during Sunday's 20-17 loss to Dallas.

Shampklin was elevated to the Steelers' 53-man roster ahead of Sunday's primetime matchup since Jaylen Warren (knee) and Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) were unavailable. However, Shampklin played just 11 offensive snaps and didn't generate much production. He'll likely remain on the practice squad in Week 6 if Warren or Patterson are cleared to return.

  • Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Firmly in No. 2 role

Elliott carried the ball six times for 17 yards and failed to catch his only target in Sunday's win over the Steelers.

The veteran RB took a back seat to Rice Dowdle, who amassed 114 yards from scrimmage and a receiving TD on 22 touches. Elliott has shown very little this season in his return to Dallas, managing just 3.3 yards per carry, and he hasn't seen double-digit touches since Week 1. While he still has some utility for the Cowboys due to his pass protection skills, there's little reason for fantasy GMs to give Elliott a roster spot, even in the deepest formats.
