  • Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Ruled out for Sunday

Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Friday that Taylor (ankle) won't play Sunday against the Titans.

With Taylor set to miss his second straight contest, Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson are in line to lead the Indianapolis backfield Week 6. Taylor's next chance to suit up for a game will arrive Oct. 20 against the Dolphins in Week 7.

  • Chase Brown RB | CIN

Bengals' Chase Brown: Ready for Week 6 action

Coach Zac Taylor noted Friday that Brown (quadricep) is good to go for Sunday night's game against the Giants, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site and Ben Baby of ESPN.com report.

The quad injury that limited Brown on Thursday was evidently very minor, and he's in line to continue to share backfield duties with Zack Moss (foot), who also is set to be available this weekend, per Taylor. Through Cincinnati's first five contests, Brown has carried 41 times for 230 yards and two TDs and added 10 catches for 39 yards and another score, while Moss has logged 57 carries for 211 yards and two touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 124 yards and a TD.

  • Zack Moss RB | CIN

Bengals' Zack Moss: Set to play Sunday

Coach Zac Taylor relayed Friday that Moss (foot) is good to go for Sunday night's game against the Giants, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site and Ben Baby of ESPN.com report.

The same applies to fellow RB Chase Brown (quadricep), which ensures that the Bengals will maintain backfield continuity Week 6. Though the team's first five games this season, Moss has logged 57 carries for 211 yards and two TDs and caught 15 passes for 124 yards and another score, while Brown has carried 41 times for 230 yards and two touchdowns and added 10 catches for 39 yards and a TD.

  • Panthers' Jonathon Brooks: May practice next week

Brooks (knee) said Friday that he may return to practice next week, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.

Brooks also acknowledged that there's not much reason to hurry him back even though he's eager to play, as the Carolina backfield has been in good hands with Chuba Hubbard, whose success perhaps limits some of the prior optimism about what Brooks might do once he plays. The rookie is talented enough to force a timeshare, or at least to push backup Miles Sanders out of the picture, and there's always some chance an injury to Hubbard creates a better opportunity. Brooks is 11 months removed from suffering an ACL tear -- an injury that didn't prevent him from being the first RB selected (46th overall) in the 2024 NFL Draft.

  • Commanders' Brian Robinson: Headed for game-time decision

Coach Dan Quinn said Friday that Robinson will be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with the Ravens, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

The Commanders are giving Robinson a shot to play even though he didn't practice this week. He played through the same injury last week and scored a pair of first-half touchdowns, but he then aggravated his knee and was held out after halftime, leaving Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols in charge of Washington's backfield in a 34-13 win over Cleveland. It'll likely be Ekeler getting the start and McNichols handling a significant role off the bench if Robinson is declared inactive before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday in Baltimore.

  • Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Not present for start of practice

Taylor (ankle) wasn't present at the start of Friday's practice, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

Taylor didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, so unless he makes an appearance as the session progresses, his status for Sunday's game against the Titans will remain cloudy. If Taylor is unable to play this weekend, Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson would be in line to handle the Colts' backfield duties Week 6.

  • Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Not spotted at practice

Stevenson (foot) wasn't spotted during the initial portion of Friday's practice, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Stevenson didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, so his continued absence is concerning ahead of Sunday's game against the Texans. Per Reiss, coach Jerod Mayo noted that Stevenson's foot injury isn't viewed as a long-term concern, but if the running back is out this weekend, Antonio Gibson would be in line for the Week 6 start, with JaMycal Hasty in reserve and practice-squad members Terrell Jennings and Kevin Harris candidates for elevation.

  • Jordan Mason RB | MIN

49ers' Jordan Mason: Likely has AC sprain

Mason is believed to have suffered a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder during Thursday's 36-24 win over the Seahawks but will undergo further testing Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Mason exited Thursday's game in the second quarter, returned for one play after halftime, and then missed the rest of the game. Isaac Guerendo filled in as San Francisco's lead back and iced the game with a 76-yard run in the closing minutes, with Patrick Taylor also taking on some work (five carries, one catch) in Mason's absence. Meanwhile, the 49ers hope to get Christian McCaffrey (Achilles) back at some point within the next few games, although it's not clear if he has any chance to be ready for a Week 7 matchup with the Chiefs on Oct. 20.

  • Commanders' Brian Robinson: Not seen at practice

Robinson (knee) doesn't appear to be practicing Friday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

A third straight missed practice suggests he's unlikely to play Sunday at Baltimore. Robinson played through the same injury last week and scored a pair of first-half touchdowns, but he seemed to aggravate his knee along the way and was held out after halftime, leaving Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols in charge of Washington's backfield in a 34-13 win over Cleveland.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Registers 35 yards in loss

Charbonnet rushed five times for 20 yards and caught his lone target for 15 yards in Thursday's 36-24 loss to the 49ers.

Kenneth Walker remained the clear No. 1 option in the Seahawks backfield, as Charbonnet's fellow running back recorded 14 carries and eight catches (on eight targets) for a combined 69 yards. Charbonnet won't be a dependable fantasy option as long as Walker is healthy, but he should have some deep-league appeal in favorable matchups.
