  • Will Shipley RB | PHI

Eagles' Will Shipley: Rushes twice in garbage time

Shipley carried the ball twice for minus-3 yards in Sunday's 37-17 win over the Bengals.

Shipley got the ball on both of his offensive snaps, both of which came on the Eagles' final drive with the team already up three scores. On the first play, he thought he had reached the end zone for his first career touchdown, only to have the run brought back by an offensive hold. His season totals now sit at 10 carries for 12 yards, all of which have come in garbage time over the last two weeks.

  • Eagles' Kenneth Gainwell: Five carries in 20-point win

Gainwell carried five times for 19 yards in Sunday's 37-17 win over the Bengals.

Gainwell had just one carry until the second half of the fourth quarter but got a handful of opportunities late after the Eagles had put the game out of reach. The Eagles have won their last two games by a combined 45 points, resulting in Gainwell's two biggest workloads of the year, but don't be surprised if he's limited to two or three touches the next time the team is in a close game.

  • Dalvin Cook RB | DAL

Cowboys' Dalvin Cook: Moves back to practice squad

Cook reverted to the Cowboys' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Cook waited until Week 8 to make his Dallas debut, and it happened to coincide with Rico Dowdle sitting out Sunday's loss to the 49ers due to an illness. Even with the potential opportunity in front of him, Cook (17 of 62 offensive snaps) took a back seat to Ezekiel Elliott (28) and Hunter Luepke (25) out of the Cowboys backfield. Elliott (11) and Cook (seven) handled most of the touches (Luepke had one carry). Assuming Dowdle is able to put his ailment behind him ahead of Sunday's game in Atlanta, he seemingly would retake the reins of the team's running game, with Elliott and an elevated Cook likely mixing in behind him.

  • Ray Davis RB | BUF

Bills' Ray Davis: Minimal role in easy win

Davis had six carries for 29 yards and was not targeted in the passing game during Sunday's 31-10 win over the Seahawks.

After two weeks of big production -- which probably came at a cheap value in the fantasy world -- the fourth-round rookie took a clear back seat Week 8 while starter James Cook ran wild over the Seattle defense for 133 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. Davis did see action on 22 percent of the offensive snaps for the second straight week, but no matter how well Davis has been performing, this is a good reminder that this is not a timeshare in Buffalo. At the very least, Davis has used October to put himself clearly ahead of Ty Johnson (no carries Week 7 or Week 8) as the No. 2 option in the Buffalo backfield.

  • Tyler Goodson RB | ATL

Colts' Tyler Goodson: Has drop on only target

Goodson had a drop on his only target in Sunday's loss at Houston.

Goodson played just two snaps on offense, as he and Trey Sermon will have limited backup roles with the return of Jonathan Taylor from an ankle injury. Goodson appeared to move ahead of Sermon in the backfield mix last week with Taylor out, but Sermon played 10 snaps Sunday with Taylor playing 52 snaps. Goodson's pass drop won't help him work his way into the backfield mix as the receiving back, either.

  • Trey Sermon RB | PIT

Colts' Trey Sermon: Back to limited role on offense

Sermon had one reception for 14 yards and no carries in Sunday's loss at Houston.

With the return of Jonathan Taylor from an ankle injury, Sermon moved to a limited backup role. Sermon played on just 10 of the offense's 64 snaps while Taylor played on 52 snaps and Tyler Goodson played on two snaps. Sermon likely will have a minimal role while Taylor is healthy.

  • Dameon Pierce RB | PHI

Texans' Dameon Pierce: Listed as DNP with groin injury

Pierce (groin) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

It's a new injury for Pierce, as he previously battled hamstring issues earlier in the season. Pierce rushed one time for four yards in Sunday's Week 8 win over the Colts. If Pierce can't play in Thursday night's date with the Jets, Dare Ogunbowale would handle change-of-pace duties behind Joe Mixon.

  • Jordan Mason RB | MIN

49ers' Jordan Mason: Aggravates shoulder injury

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Mason aggravated his existing left shoulder sprain in Sunday's 30-24 win over the Cowboys and is viewed as day-to-day, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Shanahan said Mason could have returned to the game after he went to the locker room just before halftime. Mason, however, never played another snap, as Isaac Guerendo handled backfield duties the rest of the way. With Christian McCaffrey (Achilles) trending toward a return from injured reserve after the 49ers' Week 9 bye, Mason's days as San Francisco's lead back appear to be either numbered or over.

  • Jaguars' D'Ernest Johnson: Less involved as No. 2 back

Johnson carried once for three yards and caught one of two targets for 20 yards during Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Packers.

The 28-year-old totaled 20 touches in the previous two games with Travis Etienne (hamstring) unavailable, but both of those contests were blowouts. Tank Bigsby dominated the backfield work Sunday as Jacksonville nearly took Green Bay to overtime. Johnson likely won't be a fantasy-relevant option but should continue to see some chances in passing situations until Etienne is back.

  • Justice Hill RB | BAL

Ravens' Justice Hill: Little usage Sunday

Hill had two carries for five yards and added a 14-yard reception Sunday against the Browns.

Hill played one of his higher snap shares of the season but didn't make much of an impact in the box score with three total touches for 19 yards. The common theme of Hill's useful fantasy games this season has been target volume. In the five games in which Hill had fewer than three targets, he has averaged 4.08 PPR points. Additionally, it's difficult to predict the game scripts where the running backs will be active in the passing game. Baltimore hosts a tough Denver defense in Week 9.
