  • Alex Armah FB | WAS

Panthers' Alex Armah: Sits out practice Thursday

Armah was held out of practice Thursday due to a hamstring injury, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The hamstring issue limited Armah at Wednesday's practice, but the fullback wasn't able to get on the field for any of the Panthers' drills during Thursday's session. Armah has been active for each of the Panthers' last five contests, but he's failed to log a single touch during that stretch. That's unlikely to change if Armah is able to play Sunday against the Buccaneers, given his role as a blocker out of the backfield.

  • Bears' Benny Cunningham: Limited in practice Wednesday

Cunningham (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

The hamstring injury sidelined Cunningham during the Bears' Week 7 win over the Panthers, and it's unclear if he's made enough progress in his recovery to suit up Sunday against the Saints. He was limited throughout practices all last week before ultimately sitting out, so the Bears may need to see Cunningham put in a full practice Thursday or Friday to feel good about his chances of playing Sunday.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Chargers' Melvin Gordon: Limited due to foot injury

Gordon was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a foot injury.

Gordon was listed with a shoulder injury last week and a knee injury Weeks 3 through 5. He's yet to miss a game this season, and his workload fell in its usual range during Sunday's 21-0 win over Denver, though he was limited to 44 yards and held scoreless on 19 touches (one catch). Assuming the foot injury isn't serious, Gordon should stay busy even if the Chargers fall behind Sunday in New England, as the team often keeps him on the field for passing downs.

  • Elijah Hood RB | JAC

    Elijah Hood: Signs with Oakland

Hood signed a contract with the Raiders on Wednesday.

Selected by the Raiders in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Hood was released at the end of the preseason and spent the past seven weeks on Oakland's practice squad. He'll provide depth behind DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard while Marshawn Lynch serves a one-game suspension Sunday against the Bills. Hood likely will be waived after the contest, unless Washington or Richard suffer an injury.

  • Lions' Dwayne Washington: Ditches injury designation

Washington (quadriceps) wasn't listed on the Lions' injury report Wednesday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.

Washington benefited from a Week 7 bye and is now in line for his first game action since the second contest of the season. He'll likely push Zach Zenner to the inactive list Sunday against the Steelers, but Washington's workload won't amount to much behind the running back duo of Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick.

  • Terrance West RB | BAL

Ravens' Terrance West: Ruled out yet again

West (calf) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Dolphins.

With West sidelined for a third straight week, Javorius Allen and Alex Collins will continue to split work in the Baltimore backfield. West hasn't practiced at all since re-injuring his calf in a Week 5 win over the Raiders.

  • Samaje Perine RB | CIN

Redskins' Samaje Perine: Relegated to special teams

Perine did not see the field for an offensive snap during Monday's 34-24 loss to the Eagles.

With Rob Kelley back in the fold, Washington no longer needed Perine to be the thunder to Chris Thompson's lightning. So long as both Thompson and Kelley stay healthy, it's hard to see Perine getting much more than the occasional carry. The rookie fourth-round pick can only blame himself for a missed opportunity. In the three full games Kelley missed, Perine recorded 49 rushes for a putrid 2.84 yards per carry.

  • Dolphins' Damien Williams: Collects 20 yards in win

Williams caught two of three targets for 18 yards and added two yards on two carries in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Jets.

There had been some talk that Kenyan Drake was eyeing the backup running back role, but Williams has held him off. Williams saw 22 offensive snaps on Sunday while Drake was limited to special teams. That's a feather in his cap, but few teams roll as much with a lead back than Miami. So while he's seen steady snaps, Williams has yet to reach 30 total yards in a game this year. Don't expect that to change.

  • Corey Grant RB | JAC

Jaguars' Corey Grant: Carries six times in win over Indy

Grant logged six carries for eight yards and had one catch for 28 yards in Sunday's Week 7 win over the Colts.

Even with Leonard Fournette (ankle) inactive, Grant remained the Jags' third option behind T.J. Yeldon, who finished with 122 yards, and Chris Ivory. Fournette is expected back in Week 9 following the bye, so expect Grant to remain buried on the depth chart for the foreseeable future.

  • Terrance West RB | BAL

Ravens' Terrance West: Sits out practice Tuesday

West (calf) was a nonparticipant in Tuesday's practice, Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun reports.

With back-to-back days on the sideline to begin the week, West looks poised to miss his third straight game due to the calf issue. Unless West is able to rally in the next couple of days and suit up Thursday against the Dolphins, it looks as though Javorius Allen and Alex Collins will shoulder the bulk of the snaps out of the backfield for the Ravens.
