Rashaad Penny RB | CAR
Seahawks' Rashaad Penny: Gets just three carries
Penny had just three carries for five yards in Sunday's 24-13 win over Dallas.
Penny received 10 carries Week 2 but took a backseat Sunday to Chris Carson, who ran a whopping 32 times for 102 yards and a touchdown. With a shaky offensive line and the presence of Carson, it's hard to get excited about Penny, at least at the moment. If you need Penny, he'll face Arizona in Week 4.

Ezekiel Elliott RB | LAC
Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Runs for over 100 yards
Elliott ran 16 times for 127 yards and caught three of eight targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 24-13 loss at Seattle. He also lost a fumble.
Elliott should've had a 31-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter, as he slipped away from the defense all alone down the sideline. He stepped out of bounds before he caught the pass, however, so there was a penalty called for illegal touching. Even though he posted his first 100-yard rushing game of the season, it was a tough day all around for Elliott, who also lost a fumble late in the game at the end of a nice 31-yard scamper on which it looked like he might score. The star back hasn't been able to rip off many long runs so far this year (just two of 20-plus yards, both Sunday), but he's seeing plenty of volume and has been active in the passing game (18 targets). He's got a juicy matchup in Week 4 against Detroit, which entered Week 3 with the league's worst rush defense.
-
Kenyan Drake RB | GB
Dolphins' Kenyan Drake: Makes minimal impact versus Raiders
Drake carried five times for three yards and caught two passes for an additional seven yards during Sunday's 28-20 win over the Raiders.
Drake managed a long gain of just three yards and was held to a net of zero yards on his other four totes, finishing with one less carry than Frank Gore. He was utilized more in the passing game and finished second on the team in targets, but he was hardly a factor in that regard either. It was a disappointing effort for Drake, who seemed poised for a productive game against what's been a poor Oakland run defense. He's now seen his usage diminish each week of the young season and will hope for more touches next Sunday against the Patriots.

Nyheim Miller-Hines RB | NO
Colts' Nyheim Hines: Targeted five times
Hines caught all five of his targets for 25 yards and added 18 yards on five carries during Sunday's 20-16 loss in Philadelphia.
Hines, averaging just 3.1 yards per carry this year, did not provide much assistance on the ground in Marlon Mack's (hamstring/foot) absence, but continued to offer Andrew Luck with a security blanket in the passing game. Through three games, the rookie back has as many receptions as starting receiver Ryan Grant. Hines hasn't been able to break a big gain, but he's an interesting back-end PPR option, particularly against a Houston front that might force Luck to dump the ball off quickly.
-
Jordan Wilkins RB | CLE
Colts' Jordan Wilkins: Bottled up
Wilkins ran for 19 yards on six carries and added a yard on two catches during Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Eagles.
Wilkins went up against Philly's stout front and took some lumps, failing to get more than five yards on any of his six carries while starting in place of Marlon Mack (foot/hamstring). It might sound counterintuitive, but Wilkins has actually been more effective with Mack in the lineup, having averaged 6.1 yards per rush Week 2 with Mack active and just under three yards per carry Weeks 1 and 3 with Mack out. If that's going to continue to be the case, Wilkins and the Colts need Mack back for next weekend's game against Houston. Having Andrew Luck as the team's leading rusher, as he was Sunday, is not a recipe for success.
-
Royce Freeman RB | CHI
Broncos' Royce Freeman: Strikes again
Freeman rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries and added a five-yard catch during Sunday's 27-14 loss in Baltimore.
Following a punt block, Freeman made short work of Denver's opening possession, powering through for a six-yard touchdown. Freeman managed just 14 touches, despite fellow rookie Phillip Lindsay's ejection shortly before halftime. The Broncos appear poised to keep their backs fresh and go with the hot hand at running back. That means Lindsay and Freeman are not necessarily competing with each other and that, even when Lindsay is playing well, Freeman remains a solid option, particularly in the red zone. He next takes on a Kansas City defense that has struggled to keep opposing offenses out of the end zone this season.
-
Corey Clement RB | ARI
Eagles' Corey Clement: Tallies 75 yards in win
Clement rushed for 56 yards on 16 carries and added 19 yards on three receptions during Sunday's 20-16 win over the Colts. He fumbled twice, but recovered both.
Getting the start in placed of the injured Jay Ajayi (back), Clement saw more touches than backup Wendell Smallwood -- 19 to 13 -- but gained 16 fewer yards and was watching as Smallwood ended up with the game-winning score. How much, if any, of Sunday's action will be reflected next week against Tennessee is a bit of a mystery. Ajayi's status is day-to-day. If he returns, it could be back to a split between he and Clement, with Ajayi totaling 23 touches through the season's first two weeks to Clement's 16. It is also possible that, given Smallwood's big day, the Eagles look to him more as a change-of-pace option.
-
Matt Breida RB | SF
49ers' Matt Breida: Paces team in rushing again
Breida rushed 10 times for 90 yards and brought in all three targets for an additional 27 yards in the 49ers' 38-27 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.
Breida shook off an in-game injury scare involving his knee to pace the 49ers in rushing yardage for the third time in as many games to open the season. The speedy second-year back logged just one less rush than in each of his first two games despite missing time during the contest, and he played a modest but productive role in the passing game for the second straight week. He'll look to keep trending in the right direction against the Chargers in a Week 4 road tilt.
-
Aaron Jones RB | MIN
Packers' Aaron Jones: Solid in return from suspension
Jones (suspension) rushed six times for 42 yards and and brought in his only target for five yards in the Packers' 31-17 loss to the Redskins on Sunday.
Jones was supposed to lag behind both Jamaal Williams and Ty Montgomery in terms of workload in the backfield, but he ended up pacing all backs in rushing touches. While that equated to a modest six carries, Jones looked sharp with them on his way to a 7.0-yard average. With his first taste of game action in 2018 under his belt, he'll look to build up his overall numbers against the Bills in Week 4.
-
C.J. Anderson RB | LAR
Panthers' C.J. Anderson: Finds pay dirt on screen pass
Anderson rushed twice for nine yards and added a 24-yard touchdown catch on his lone target in Sunday's 31-21 win over Cincinnati.
Anderson was out-touched 30-3 by Christian McCaffrey in this one, but the backup running back made the most of his meager workload. The highlight of Anderson's day was definitely a screen pass that he took 24 yards to the house while barely getting touched. The veteran running back will be hoping the coaching staff incorporates him into the offense more after next week's bye.
