  • John Kelly RB | CLE

Rams' John Kelly: Receives first career carries

Kelly played seven offensive snaps and rushed twice for four yards during Sunday's 30-23 loss to Philadelphia.

The rookie debuted last week with seven snaps on special teams, and his two carries Sunday were his first of the season. With Malcolm Brown (clavicle) out for the year and Justin Davis (shoulder) also dealing with an injury, Kelly has a chance to solidify himself as the No. 2 back behind Todd Gurley. However, that role hasn't been conducive to fantasy production, so Kelly's off the radar in the majority of settings.

  • Patriots' Cordarrelle Patterson: Catches three passes Week 15

Patterson caught all three of his targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Steelers.

Patterson did not record a carry for the second straight week, and his backfield involvement figures to be minimal going forward, with the return to health of both Sony Michel and Rex Burkhead. Patterson's versatility and ability as a returner are assets to the Patriots, but his fantasy upside is hampered by a lack of reliable volume.

  • D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE

Texans' D'Onta Foreman: Could have role Week 16

Coach Bill O'Brien said Foreman may be active for Week 16 in Philadelphia, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Foreman was activated from the PUP list Dec. 4 but hasn't actually been active for any games. Lamar Miller's ankle injury may create an opening Week 16, with Alfred Blue and undrafted rookie Buddy Howell representing the other options at running back. Even if he ends up playing, Foreman would probably have to settle for a small role in a multi-player backfield. He's still an intriguing asset in dynasty/keeper leagues, but the appeal is limited in redraft formats.

  • Ronald Jones RB | DAL

Buccaneers' Ronald Jones II: Non-factor in second straight game

Jones brought in one of two targets for minus-2 yards in the Buccaneers' 20-12 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.

Just another forgettable game for the rookie, who's seen his first year in the NFL become a total washout. Jones' sole touch Sunday was his only one of the past two games, and he logged a meager four snaps from scrimmage for the second straight week. With his primary usage coming on coverage units, Jones has next to no fantasy value in any format.

  • Buccaneers' Jacquizz Rodgers: Minimal involvement in loss

Rodgers brought in his only target for one yard in the Buccaneers' 20-12 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.

One game after logging eight touches from scrimmage, Rodgers was back to minimal involvement. The Buccaneers opted to give Peyton Barber all of the running back carries Sunday, and the team's second-half deficit also forced them to turn more towards the passing game as the contest wore on. Rodgers also has ceded kickoff return duties to Bobo Wilson the last pair of contests, leaving him with negligible fantasy value.

  • Austin Ekeler RB | WAS

Chargers' Austin Ekeler: Could return Saturday

Ekeler (neck/concussion) has a chance to return for Saturday's game against the Ravens, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Ekeler was unable to play in Thursday's 29-28 win over the Chiefs just four days after suffering a neck injury and concussion. He does have a shot to make it back with the Chargers on a long week of rest this time around, but a return won't necessarily equate to a starring role in the offense, as Melvin Gordon (knee) also has a chance to suit up.

  • Jeff Wilson RB | MIA

49ers' Jeff Wilson: Over 6.0 YPC in Week 15

Wilson rushed for 46 yards on seven attempts during Sunday's 26-23 win against the Seahawks.

From an undrafted free agent out of North Texas to sixth-string running back at the start of training camp, Wilson's rookie campaign has reached its apex as he prepares for what could be his second start of the season in Week 16 after Matt Breida (ankle) aggravated an injury toward the conclusion of Sunday's overtime win against Seattle. A slight-bodied back at 6-foot, 195 pounds, Wilson has been a pleasant surprise in averaging 4.4 yards per carry and 8.7 yards per touch in four appearances this year, but he's yet to get into the end zone, preventing him from attaining the RB2 upside that often comes as a byproduct of being a team's workhorse back (15-plus carries in Weeks 13 and 14). Wilson is a near-lock to hit 15 touches if Breida is in fact unable to suit up when the 49ers face Chicago's No. 2 rush defense in the penultimate week of the regular season (83.2 yards allowed per game).

  • Matt Breida RB | SF

    49ers' Matt Breida: Aggravates ankle

Breida aggravated his ankle injury toward the end of Sunday's 26-23 overtime win over the Seahawks, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Breida played until the final few snaps of the game, finishing with 17 carries for 50 yards and five catches for 46 yards (on five targets). The 49ers held him out for a week the last time he aggravated his lingering ankle injury, allowing Jeff Wilson to pile up 23 carries for 90 yards in a 20-14 win over the Broncos in Week 14. While a cautious approach would make sense with the 49ers sitting at 4-10, the team has consistently been aggressive in allowing Breida to play through injuries all season. Wilson would be primed for heavy usage if Breida ends up missing a Week 16 home game against the Bears.

  • Colts' Nyheim Hines: Piles up 64 scrimmage yards

Hines carried six times for 19 yards and caught four passes for an additional 45 yards during Sunday's 23-0 win over the Cowboys.

Hines was the only other back to carry the ball behind Marlon Mack, but he averaged just 3.2 yards per carry. He frequently lined up in the slot and on the outside, finishing second on the team in catches and receiving yardage. Hines is more of a change-of-pace option behind Mack, but his receiving chops give him some fantasy value in the right matchup. That said, he's no guarantee to produce next Sunday against the Giants.

  • Boston Scott RB | PIT

Eagles' Boston Scott: Inactive Sunday night

Scott (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday night's game against the Rams, Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Scott joined the team prior to Week 14 following Corey Clement's knee injury, but the rookie will have to wait at least another week to make his debut. The Eagles will roll with Josh Adams, Darren Sproles and Wendell Smallwood at running back.
