  • Rashaad Penny RB | CAR

Seahawks' Rashaad Penny: Bottled up by Cardinals

Penny gained just six yards on four carries in Sunday's win over the Cardinals.

Penny missed the previous two games with a knee injury, and he didn't get a carry until the second quarter. It was a brutally unproductive outing, and he fell behind Mike Davis, who rushed seven times for 44 yards and a touchdown. Penny is a more explosive back than Davis, but with limited touches, he needs to break out big plays early to earn more carries behind indisputable starter Chris Carson. The rookie first-round pick shouldn't be counted on in postseason fantasy formats without a dependable snap count.

  • Buccaneers' Dare Ogunbowale: Signs futures deal with Tampa Bay

Ogunbowale signed a futures contract with the Buccaneers on Monday, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

Ogunbowale appeared in two games for the Buccaneers this season, with all but two of his snaps coming on special teams. He'll look to make the roster as a backup running back in 2019.

  • John Kelly RB | CLE

Rams' John Kelly: Unimpressive against 49ers

Kelly rushed 15 times for just 30 yards during Sunday's 48-32 win over San Francisco, but he did also have an 18-yard reception.

Considering C.J. Anderson ran over the 49ers for 132 yards and 5.7 per tote, Kelly's numbers on the ground are all the more pedestrian. However, the rookie also didn't receive his first carry until the middle of the third quarter when Los Angeles was up 38-17 and milking the clock, so It's probably best to look at Kelly's production with a grain of salt. Additionally, it's unlikely he has a notable role in the postseason with Todd Gurley resting a knee injury the past two weeks, and Anderson proving to be a viable option as the lead back in his absence. Kelly was active for four regular-season games but only saw offensive snaps the past three. He finished the campaign with 74 rushing yards on 27 attempts (2.7 yards per carry) and two receptions for 27 yards.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Chargers' Melvin Gordon: Should be fine for playoffs

Gordon, who suffered an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 23-9 win over the Broncos, is expected to play in the Chargers' wild-card matchup with the Ravens during the upcoming weekend, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Schefter's report essentially supports what Gordon had to say about the injury after the Week 17 victory. The running back indicated that he merely "tweaked" the ankle and suggested he could have returned to the contest if needed, but Los Angeles elected to keep him on the sideline as a precaution. It's likely that Gordon will receive some extra maintenance in practices over the next few days, but once the weekend arrives, he should be ready to fill his usual high-volume role out of the backfield in what will mark his postseason debut.

  • Derrick Henry RB | BAL

Titans' Derrick Henry: Modest output in loss

Henry received 16 carries for 93 yards and added another 13 yards on his lone reception in Sunday's 33-17 loss to the Colts.

Henry was actually bottled up for most of the first half, but head coach Mike Vrabel unleashed the Wildcat offense for a drive, and that got his bruising back rolling a bit. The 24-year-old was unable to score a touchdown for the first time since Week 12, but he still produced a decent stat line in the end. Henry's strong finish to the season is surely going to create pre-draft buzz similar to what his stock experienced prior to this season, but it will be up to fantasy owners to decide whether to trust-fall back into Henry's arms after a slow start likely cost many of them fantasy playoff opportunities.

  • Mark Walton RB | MIA

Bengals' Mark Walton: Doesn't dent stat sheet

Walton didn't record a carry or reception again in Week 17 in the Bengals' loss to the Steelers.

Walton was barely used on offense this season, netting 14 carries for 34 yards and five catches for 41 yards. The fourth-round pick might take over Giovani Bernard's backup role next season, but that's far from guaranteed. He could just as easily be waiver bait, pending what the Bengals do in the draft and free agency this offseason.

  • Marlon Mack RB | ARI

Colts' Marlon Mack: Continues scoring streak

Mack rushed 25 times for 119 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 33-17 win over Tennessee. He lost a yard on three receptions (three targets).

Mack may be second to only Andrew Luck in terms of being grateful for the Colts' new and improved offensive line this season. The second-year back was finding big running lanes against the Titans' usually-solid run defense. This was Mack's fourth game of 100-plus yards and at least one touchdown this season. It's no coincidence that he averaged 24 carries in those four monster games, compared to 11 carries per game in the rest. Mack is proving to be the back in Indianapolis with the most talent, a revelation that should make him another value next year. As for this season, he will take on a Texans team in the wild-card round Saturday that ranked fourth against the run this season.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Bengals' Joe Mixon: Tops 100 yards

Mixon carried the ball 13 times for 105 yards in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Steelers. He also added one reception for two yards.

Mixon bounced back from a disappointing Week 16 showing to surpass 100 yards on the ground for the third time in four games to close the season. Nearly half of his 105 rushing yards came on a 51-yard scamper midway through the fourth quarter, which led to a game-tying field goal at the time. Despite being one of the few skill-position starters still standing to close the season, Mixon well outpaced his rookie performance to take a step forward in his second campaign. Even with Giovani Bernard in the fold for at least one more season, there is no doubt that Mixon will enter the season as the team's lead back and is one of the better fantasy options at the position as a result.

  • Gus Edwards RB | LAC

Ravens' Gus Edwards: Makes most of carries

Edwards carried the ball 12 times for 76 yards in Sunday's 26-24 win over the Browns.

Edwards was limited to 12 touches but made the most of the opportunity by averaging 6.3 yards per carry. The bulk of his yardage came on three carries that went for 24, 18 and 12 yards respectively, though he was held relatively quiet otherwise. Edwards ends the season with 718 rushing yards, with only Lamar Jackson surpassing him for the team lead even though he was only on the active roster beginning in Week 6. Once the playoffs have concluded, Edwards will enter the offseason as an Exclusive Rights Free Agent, meaning he'll likely be with the team again. However, his role will be uncertain with Lamar Jackson, Kenneth Dixon, and potentially Alex Collins all vying for carries.

  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

    Browns' Nick Chubb: Bottled up

Chubb totaled 24 rushing yards on nine carries in Sunday's 26-24 loss to the Ravens. He also added two receptions for minus-4 yards.

Chubb was bottled up by one of the best rushing defenses in the league, leaving him four yards shy of breaking the 1,000 rushing-yard barrier. Considering he had only 125 yards on the ground through six weeks, it's clear Chubb came on strong in the second half of the season after Carlos Hyde was traded. Even with a disappointing final game, it is clear that Chubb can work as a featured workhorse back, and he will almost certainly enter the 2019 season with that role for the Browns. The only downside to his game thus far is his lack of activity in the passing game, as he only surpassed 40 receiving yards twice this season.
