Montgomery (concussion) will not play in Monday's matchup against the Vikings.

Montgomery was unable to practice all week, and it looks like the team will err on the side of caution with its second-year running back. The team has a Week 11 bye, so his next chance to return will come in Week 12 versus the Packers. In his absence, Chicago will go to Cordarrelle Patterson as their primary option in the backfield, while Ryan Nall and Artavis Pierce will also be available. It should be noted the team could also elevate Lamar Miller from the practice squad.

Chubb (knee) will be activated off injured reserve and play in Sunday's game against the Texans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Coach Kevin Stefanski suggested Chubb would need to receive approval from the medical staff to play, so Saturday's designation should give fantasy managers plenty of confidence to insert the star running back into their lineups. It's entirely possible the Browns could still be cautious with Chubb's workload, particularly with Kareem Hunt's more-than-adequate stint as a starter, but it's hard to believe the team would activate Chubb if it didn't plan to play in some capacity. The matchup certainly couldn't be much better to get Chubb some confidence, as the Texans allow the most rushing yards per game in the NFL.

McKinnon may be in line for a significant workload with Tevin Coleman (knee) ruled out for Sunday's contest at New Orleans, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

McKinnon handled a 74-percent share of the snaps on offense Week 9 against the Packers with Coleman sidelined and Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson on IR with ankle sprains. The result was 15 touches for 68 yards from scrimmage and one TD, while JaMycal Hasty played 26 percent of the plays en route to six touches for 13 yards. A similar breakdown of RB reps seems likely Sunday against a Saints defense that has yielded 100.8 total yards per game and five touchdowns to running backs in eight games this season.

Coach Matt Rhule is hopeful McCaffrey (shoulder) can return for a Week 11 game against the Lions, ESPN's David Newton reports.

McCaffrey was held out of practice this week and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, but the Panthers remain hopeful his AC joint injury won't require a multi-week absence. The missed game Sunday will be McCaffrey's seventh this season, giving Mike Davis yet another chance to fill the lead backfield role.

Homer (knee) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's road game versus the Rams, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.

Coach Pete Carroll considers Chris Carson (foot) and Carlos Hyde (hamstring) to be game-time decisions, per Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, which could be a boon for Homer if both are held out for a third straight contest. In the previous two outings, Homer totaled 10 touches for 84 yards, while DeeJay Dallas had 32 touches for 97 yards and three TDs.

Harris (chest/ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday night's game against the Ravens after practicing in a limited fashion this week, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports.

Harris is one of 17 players listed as questionable by the Patriots, and while his practice participation all week -- albeit in a limited fashion -- offers encouragement, his status remains worth monitoring leading up to Sunday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, the running back, who left Monday night's win over the Jets with a chest injury, stopped short of saying he'd play Sunday night but did note that he's been working to that end over the past few days. If Harris is limited at all this weekend (or out), it's possible that Sony Michel (quad) -- who is eligible to be activated off IR -- could rejoin New England's backfield mix Week 10, along with James White and Rex Burkhead.

Washington is questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers with a back injury.

The 26-year-old was added to the injury report Thursday as a limited practice participant, and he was unable to participate at Friday's session. Washington will need to show some improvement to be able to play Sunday versus San Francisco.

Taylor (illness) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against Baltimore.

Taylor started the week with a pair of limited practices but upgraded to a full session Friday, clearing him to suit up for the Sunday Night Football clash with the Ravens. How much usage he'll see in a backfield that also features Damien Harris (ankle/chest), James White and Rex Burkhead remains to be seen.

Coach Kevin Stefanski said Friday that he'll wait until meeting with Cleveland's medical staff to decide whether Chubb (knee) will play against the Texans on Sunday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Stefanski added that Chubb, who shed his right knee brace Thursday and participated in all individual drills, has hit all necessary milestones and avoided any setbacks. The Browns still could opt to take a cautious approach to Chubb's recovery and allow him another week of rest, but the 24-year-old's chances of returning Sunday at least look encouraging. In order for Chubb to be available against the Texans, the Browns would need to officially add him to the 53-man roster by Saturday afternoon. Through the first four games of the season, Chubb scored four rushing TDs and was averaging an outstanding 5.9 YPC.

Montgomery (concussion) didn't practice Friday.

Montgomery entered the concussion protocol after he exited the Bears' Week 9 loss to the Titans in the fourth quarter. With no practice reps yet under his belt, he's trending in the wrong direction for an appearance Monday against the Vikings. Saturday's injury report will be telling for Montgomery's status, in addition to Chicago's running back situation. If he's unable to suit up, the Bears will roll with Cordarrelle Patterson, Ryan Nall and Artavis Pierce out of the backfield. The team also has Lamar Miller on the practice squad, but it isn't clear if he's an option for Monday.
