Travis Homer RB | PIT
Seahawks' Travis Homer: One carry in win
Homer (knee) rushed once for four yards in Sunday's 37-27 win over the 49ers.
Homer was contained to one limited practice last week as he dealt with a bruised knee, but he suited up Sunday as an emergency backup of sorts. He played just seven offensive snaps, as rookie DeeJay Dallas handled the bulk of the workload. According to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, coach Pete Carroll is optimistic that Homer should be able to play more Week 9 against the Bills. The second-year running back's role is to be determined, however, as Chris Carson (foot) and Carlos Hyde (hamstring) could both return this week.

Jonathan Taylor RB | IND
Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Dealing with minor ankle injury
Coach Frank Reich said Monday that Taylor has "a bit of an ankle injury" following Sunday's win over the Lions, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.
Perhaps this helps explain Sunday's lackluster performance, as the rookie second-round pick averaged just 2.0 yards per carry and finished with 31 total yards on 13 touches. Still, Reich explained that he learned about Taylor's injury after the game, so it appears that the decision to give Jordan Wilkins more touches (21) than Taylor was based on performance, as Wilkins was more productive with 4.5 yards per carry and a touchdown. It's worth monitoring Taylor's practice status throughout the week as the Colts prepare for a home matchup against Baltimore this Sunday.

Tony Pollard RB | TEN
Cowboys' Tony Pollard: Season high in total yards
Pollard carried the ball seven times for 40 yards and caught both his targets for 24 yards in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.
The Cowboys offense had little success with seventh-round rookie Ben DiNucci under center, but Pollard was able to muster season highs in rushing yards and yards from scrimmage from his nine touches. Andy Dalton (concussion) is expected back at quarterback for Week 9, but Pollard's value, and the outlook for the Dallas offense as a whole, will remain low.

AJ Dillon RB | CAR
Packers' AJ Dillon: Tests positive for COVID-19
Dillon was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday after testing positive for the virus, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Dillon won't be able to play Thursday against the 49ers. Aaron Jones (calf) may be available, but Jamaal Williams is the only running back that's currently healthy for Week 9. Dillon will have to clear the league's COVID-19 protocols before returning to team activities.

D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE
Titans' D'Onta Foreman: Makes Titans debut
Foreman carried the ball five times for 37 yards in Week 8 against the Bengals.
Foreman finished second on the team with five carries and mixed into drives in every quarter of the game. However, he was still out-snapped, 22-6, by Jeremy McNichols, meaning Foreman is likely the third back on the depth chart for the time being.

Latavius Murray RB | BUF
Saints' Latavius Murray: Season-low 31 yards
Murray carried eight times for 17 yards and caught all three of his targets for 14 yards in the Saints' 26-23 OT win over the Bears on Sunday.
Murray's 31 yards were a season low, though his three receptions were a season high. His yardage totals have capped out at 83 yards on the year, and he'll likely have a difficult time getting much done against a stout Buccaneers defensive front in Week 9.

Jeremy McNichols RB | WAS
Titans' Jeremy McNichols: Shows burst in Week 8
McNichols carried the ball four times for 49 yards in Week 8 against the Bengals.
McNichols continued to work as the backup to Derrick Henry, logging 22 offensive snaps. He broke off two long runs of 17 and 16 yards, providing some explosive efforts in relief of Henry. While McNichols won't see enough volume to be viable, he should continue to work as an effective change-of-pace back in Week 9 against Chicago.

Kenyan Drake RB | GB
Cardinals' Kenyan Drake: Making progress with ankle
Drake (ankle) isn't expected to play Week 9, but he's making progress and could avoid a lengthy absence, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Speaking to the media Monday morning, coach Kliff Kingsbury said Drake's ankle injury isn't as severe as it initially appeared when he was carted off the field in a Week 7 win over the Seahawks. The running back still figures to miss at least one game after a Week 8 bye, but the Cardinals seem to think he has a shot to make it back for Week 10 or 11, as they haven't placed Drake on injured reserve. Chase Edmonds will fill in as the lead back Sunday against Miami.

Cam Akers RB | SEA
Rams' Cam Akers: Shows off big-play potential
Akers rushed nine times for 35 yards and turned his only target into a 19-yard reception during Sunday's 28-17 loss to Miami.
Akers broke a 10-yard gain on his first carry of the game and also looked dangerous while breaking three tackles on his lone reception. The rookie is ready for an expanded role, and while there's still a lot competition in the Los Angeles backfield, sophomore Darrell Henderson sustained a thigh injury Sunday. Even if Henderson is ready to go in Week 10, it would be surprising if Akers didn't begin to see more consistent opportunities following the Rams' Week 9 bye. There's no questioning his talent.
