  • Damien Harris RB | BUF

Patriots' Damien Harris: Finds end zone as leading rusher

Harris (chest/ankle) rushed 11 times for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-20 loss to Houston. He added an 11-yard catch on two targets.

Harris got the scoring started with a nine-yard rushing touchdown and finished with team highs in carries and rushing yards. He has been entrusted with 10-plus carries in five consecutive games, totaling 395 rushing yards on 73 carries (5.4 YPC) over that stretch. Harris has been a non-factor in the passing game, though, with just three catches all season. Sony Michel's (quad) impending return could cut into Harris' rushing workload in Week 12 against Arizona and beyond, though that drop could be offset somewhat by the expected absence of Rex Burkhead (knee), who was carted off in this one, per Darren Hartwell of Yahoo Sports.

  • Salvon Ahmed RB | CHI

Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Hurts shoulder Sunday

Ahmed left Sunday's game against the Broncos in the first quarter with a shoulder injury, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

Prior to his exit from the contest, Ahmed logged five carries for 18 yards. Next up for the team's backfield work while he's sidelined is Matt Breida.

  • Damien Harris RB | BUF

Patriots' Damien Harris: Suits up Sunday

Harris (chest/ankle) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Texans.

Assuming no in-game setbacks, Harris, who carried 22 times for 121 yards in the Patriots' Week 10 win over the Ravens, should continue to lead New England's backfield, which also includes Rex Burkhead and James White, with Sony Michel (quadriceps) inactive. Though Harris isn't really a factor in the passing game, he should see his share of touches Sunday, as New England seems likely run plenty versus a defense that ranks last in the league in both rushing yards allowed per game (167.4) and average yards allowed per carry (5.2).

  • Craig Reynolds: Backs with Jags

Reynolds signed with Jacksonville's practice squad Saturday.

The 24-year-old spent a week on the Jaguars' practice squad in September before being released, but he'll now receive another chance with the organization. Reynolds appeared in three games for Washington last year and exclusively played special teams.

  • Damien Harris RB | BUF

Patriots' Damien Harris: Expected to play

Harris (chest/ankle), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans, is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Harris' status will be confirmed prior to the first wave of games Sunday, with the Patriots kicking off at 1 p.m. ET. Assuming he suits up, the 2019 third-round pick -- who carried 22 times for 121 yards in the team's Week 10 win over the Ravens -- should continue to head New England's backfield, which also includes Rex Burkhead and James White. The potential reintroduction of Sony Michel (quadriceps) to the mix may well cut into Harris' volume to some extent, but working in the favor of all the team's backs is that Houston's defense has struggled against the run this season.

  • Texans' Scottie Phillips: Elevated from practice squad

Phillips was promoted to Houston's active roster from the practice squad Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The 23-year-old played 12 snaps on special teams in the season opener and has the chance to see the field again Sunday. Even with David Johnson (concussion) on injured reserve, Phillips is unlikely to be a factor offensively for the Texans.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Bengals' Joe Mixon: Aiming to return Week 14

The Bengals believe Mixon (foot) will be ready to return from IR in Week 14 against the Cowboys, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Mixon needs to be at 100 percent before returning to the field, and the team hopes a three-week stint on injured reserve will make that a reality. The team's playoff hopes look grimmer every week, so while there isn't a rush to get Mixon back, he is expected to return by the end of the season. In the meantime, Giovani Bernard is expected to head the backfield while Samaje Perine rotates in.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Bengals' Joe Mixon: Placed on IR

Mixon (foot) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.

This lingering foot injury has already caused Mixon to miss three straight games, and he didn't practice at all during that stretch. Now, he'll be shut down for at least three more games, and he won't be available until Week 14 against the Cowboys at the earliest. Giovani Bernard is expected to lead the backfield moving forward, with Samaje Perine rotating in.

  • J.J. Taylor RB | HOU

Patriots' J.J. Taylor: Out Week 11

The Patriots have ruled Taylor (undisclosed) out ahead of Sunday's tilt against the Texans.

Taylor has not seen any action since Week 3 and is now dealing with an undisclosed injury. However, with Sony Michel (quadriceps) activated off IR and Damien Harris (chest/ankle), James White and Rex Burkhead all expected to be available, Taylor would have had a hard time getting on the field regardless.

  • Damien Harris RB | BUF

Patriots' Damien Harris: Listed as questionable for Week 11

Harris (chest/ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans after practicing in a limited fashion this week, Doug Kyed of NESN.com reports.

Harris is one of 15 Patriots players listed as questionable this week, be we suspect that he'll be a go for Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff. Assuming that's the case, he's likely continue heading New England's ground game, even if the team elects to activate Sony Michel (quadriceps) from IR. In his last outing, Harris recorded season highs in both carries (22) and rushing yards (121) in a win over the Ravens.
