  • Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Listed with calf issue

Elliott was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report with a calf injury, Rob Phillips of the Cowboys' official site reports.

Elliott previously played through a hamstring injury this season, so another lower-body issue doesn't seem like a huge concern, especially considering he would have got in some work if the Cowboys held a formal practice Wednesday. He'll look to prove the health of his calf during the team's two remaining sessions this week before Dallas matches up with Cincinnati on Sunday.

  • Cam Akers RB | SEA

Rams' Cam Akers: Ready for Thursday's game

Akers (shoulder) practiced fully Wednesday and doesn't have a designation for Thursday's game against the Patriots, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

Akers progressed from a non-participant Monday to limited activity Tuesday before he was cleared for the Rams' Week 14 contest. With his status not in question, he'll look to continue his recent success from the last two outings, in which he totaled 31 touches for 178 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. During that same stretch, Darrell Henderson had 15 touches for 93 total yards and one score, while Malcolm Brown was contained to 44 total yards on nine touches.

  • Myles Gaskin RB | SEA

Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Limited in practice

Gaskin (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

Gaskin handled a workhorse role (23 touches) in his return from a four-game absence Sunday against the Bengals, so the Dolphins may just be capping his reps for maintenance purposes to begin Week 14. The fact that all of Salvon Ahmed (shoulder), DeAndre Washington (hamstring) and Matt Breida (illness) were either limited or non-participants in Wednesday's practice could also influence Miami to take a cautious approach with regard to Gaskins' health. The second-year back will look to ramp up his activity as this weekend's matchup against the Chiefs approaches.

  • Jaguars' James Robinson: Tending to knee issue

Robinson was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury, Terry McCormick of TItanInsider.com reports.

Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone suggested prior to the team's first Week 14 practice that Robinson would be limited, but it wasn't until the release of the official injury report that a reason behind the rookie's restrictions became known. Despite the knee injury, Marrone said that Robinson will be "full go" for Sunday's game against Tennessee, suggesting that the running back may just have been getting some extra maintenance to begin the week.

  • Rashaad Penny RB | CAR

Seahawks' Rashaad Penny: Returns to practice

Penny (knee) returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since tearing his ACL last season, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Penny has been on the PUP list all season, but his return to practice will officially open a 21-day window for the team to add the 2018 first-round pick back to the 53-man roster. Given that Penny is a full year removed from the ACL tear, he could be ready to jump right back into game action if the coaching and medical staffs are satisfied with how he looks in practice this week. If cleared to play, Penny would likely jostle with Carlos Hyde for No. 2 duties behind starting running back Chris Carson.

  • Josh Jacobs RB | GB

Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Misses Wednesday's practice

Jacobs (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.

Earlier this week, coach Jon Gruden was pessimistic about Jacobs' chances of suiting up Sunday against the Colts, and not much seems to have changed on that front. If Jacobs is forced to miss a second consecutive game this weekend, Devontae Booker would be in line to headline Las Vegas' backfield again, with Jalen Richard and Theo Riddick also on hand to provide support.

  • D'Andre Swift RB | CHI

Lions' D'Andre Swift: Limited in return to practice

Swift (illness) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Swift missed two straight practices due to a non-COVID-19-related illness before being ruled out for last weekend's game against the Bears, so it's a good to see him now handling even limited reps. The rookie appears to be trending in the right direction for Sunday's contest against the Packers after a three-game absence, but with Kerryon Johnson (knee) also limited in practice to begin the week, Adrian Peterson and Jonathan Williams are the Lions' only fully healthy running backs.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Bengals' Joe Mixon: Not ready to return

Mixon (foot) won't return to practice this week and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.

The Bengals had some hope that Mixon might be designated to return from injured reserve, but that will be put on hold for at least another week. Though the running back won't suit up in Week 14, the Bengals aren't ruling out a Mixon return before the end of the season. In Mixon's continued absence, Giovani Bernard and Samaje Perine will head the team's backfield.

  • Tony Pollard RB | TEN

Cowboys' Tony Pollard: Makes impact in return game

Pollard carried the ball eight times for 22 yards and caught his only target for six yards in Tuesday's 34-17 loss to the Ravens. He also gained 126 yards on four kickoff returns.

While he failed to reach double-digit touches on offense for the third straight contest and the 10th time in 12 games this season, Pollard contributed as a return man, and his 66-yard runback to Baltimore's 28-yard line set up Dallas' first touchdown of the night. As long as Ezekiel Elliott is healthy, however, Pollard's role on offense will remain limited.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: May get more opportunities

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson implied Wednesday that Sanders could be a greater part of the game plan Week 14 against the Saints while sharing the backfield with new starting quarterback Jalen Hurts, Geoff Mosher of 97.5 The Fanatic Philadelphia reports. "In order to get [Hurts] success, you gotta attempt and try to establish a little bit of the run game, and he can be a part of that," Pederson said of his plans for the new signal-caller.

In addition to making the run game a greater priority, Pederson also said that he would like to script in more "easy completions" for Hurts, such as screen passes. Both of those items would seem to point to Sanders picking up more work, though No. 2 running back Boston Scott likely won't disappear from the game plan either. Sanders hasn't drawn more than 10 rushes or three targets over his past two outings, so any additional touches he might get would be a welcome sight for his fantasy managers. The matchup with the Saints isn't an ideal spot for Sanders to turn in a breakout game, however, as New Orleans has allowed the fewest touchdowns and second-fewest total yards to running backs this season.
