  • Josh Jacobs RB | GB

    Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Resumes practicing

Jacobs (ankle) returned to a limited practice Thursday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.

It remains to be seen how the Raiders list Jacobs for Sunday's game against the Colts, but his return to the field Thursday, albeit in a limited capacity, suggests that the running back has a chance to return to action this weekend. If that doesn't happen, however, Devontae Booker would be in line to lead the team's backfield again, with Jalen Richard and Theo Riddick on hand to work in complementary/change-of-pace roles.

  • Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Limited at walk-through

Elliott (calf) was limited at Thursday's walk-through, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Speaking to Jon Machota of The Athletic on Thursday, Elliott relayed that he's dealing a calf contusion. "I'm sure it's gonna be sore during the game," Elliott added. "I don't think it will limit me much at all." He's averaging a shade more than 20 touches per game this season, but with back-to-back limited practices so far this week the training staff clearly is curtailing how much he can do before Sunday's game at Cincinnati. Friday's injury report may clear up Elliott's status for Week 14.

  • Saints' Latavius Murray: Limited by knee injury

Murray (knee) was limited at Thursday's practice, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Murray's output has been all over the place in three games with Taysom Hill helming the Saints offense. Overall, Murray tallied 36 rushes for 190 yards and two touchdowns to go with five catches for 38 yards. During that same stretch, Alvin Kamara compiled 42 touches for 194 yards from scrimmage and two scores. While they've roughly been in a timeshare, Murray's new injury could be the catalyst for Kamara to regain lead-back duties. Still, Murray has one more chance to prove the health of his knee ahead of the weekend.

  • AJ Dillon RB | CAR

Packers' AJ Dillon: Comes off COVID-19 list

The Packers activated Dillon (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday.

Dillon missed four straight games due to his time on the COVID-19 list, but it looks as though he'll be available for Sunday's upcoming away game against the Lions. Given the amount of time Dillon has spent away from practice, though, the Packers could opt to ease him back into action. In any case, Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams are in line to continue operating as the top options out of Green Bay's backfield.

  • D'Andre Swift RB | CHI

Lions' D'Andre Swift: Another limited session

Swift (illness) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Swift has now logged back-to-back limited practice to begin the week, an apparent indication that he has a fair chance to return from his three-game absence. With Kerryon Johnson (knee) having returned to practice in full and Adrian Peterson also healthy, though, the Lions have the luxury of quality backups to lean on if Swift isn't yet completely ready. Friday's practice will no doubt be key in determining the rookie's chances of suiting up for Sunday's game against the Packers.

  • Kenyan Drake RB | GB

Cardinals' Kenyan Drake: Picks up hip injury

Drake (hip) was a listed as limited on Thursday's injury report, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Drake has contended with a number of injuries this season, including a slight ligament tear in his ankle that sidelined him Week 9. Having said that, he wasn't on Wednesday's report at all, so the hip injury may have occurred in practice. As a result, Drake's status will be one to monitor as the weekend draws closer.

  • Justice Hill RB | BAL

Ravens' Justice Hill: Reverts to minor role

Hill had a four-yard reception on one target Tuesday against Dallas.

Baltimore getting both J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram back in the mix had a direct impact on Hill's playing time as he saw just six offensive snaps. The role Hill saw against the Cowboys was in line with how he has been used for every game outside of the Pittsburgh matchup in Week 12, which was his only outing with double-digit snaps on offense. Hill will remain an ancillary part of the Ravens' ground game as long as Dobbins, Ingram, and Gus Edwards are healthy and available.

  • Jaguars' James Robinson: Logs another limited practice

Robinson (knee) remained limited at practice Thursday.

Despite back-to-back limited sessions, Robinson's Week 14 status doesn't appear to be in any danger, with John Reid of The Florida Times-Union relaying Wednesday that coach Doug Marrone indicated the running back would be a full go by the time Sunday's game against the Titans occurs. Friday's injury report will reveal whether Robinson approaches the contest listed as questionable, or minus an injury designation.

  • Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Expected to miss Week 14

Coach Matt Rhule said Thursday "at this time I do not expect (McCaffrey - shoulder/thigh) to play" against the Broncos on Sunday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.

Rhule also said that McCaffrey, who missed Thursday's practice after being limited Wednesday, is currently rehabbing. The star running back is dealing with both a new thigh injury and his lingering AC joint sprain. Though McCaffrey hasn't yet been officially ruled out, it certainly looks like Mike Davis is trending toward leading Carolina's backfield versus Denver.

  • Football Team's Antonio Gibson: Remains out at practice

Gibson (toe) was listed as a non-participant on a second consecutive injury report Thursday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

Washington didn't hold practice Wednesday but returned to the field one day later sans Gibson, who suffered a turf toe injury in his left foot Monday at Pittsburgh. On Thursday, coach Ron Rivera called Gibson's injury "concerning," noting the training staff will watch the running back closely to see how he reacts to treatment. There doesn't seem to be much confidence Gibson will be able to play through the issue, but one session remains for him to get back on the field this week. In the event he sits out Sunday in San Francisco, J.D. McKissic and Peyton Barber will handle backfield reps for the Football Team.
