Hill (ankle) isn't in line to play in Saturday's preseason game against Washington, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

Hill injured his ankle in the preseason opener and hasn't practiced since. He entered camp as the favorite for the No. 3 RB job, but Ty'Son Williams gets another chance to make his case Saturday night.

Dillon took seven carries for 18 yards in Saturday's 19-0 preseason loss to Buffalo.

Dillon got the start and the first carry, but he struggled to get anything going and couldn't punch the ball in for a TD on two chances inside the Buffalo five-yard line. With starters held out, Dillon and Kylin Hill got most of the backfield snaps with Jordan Love and the second-string offense. Dillon figures to get some carries Week 1 at New Orleans, but the exact nature of his role remains to be seen, as the 247-pounder offers a much different skill set than Aaron Jones' old backup Jamaal Williams (now with the Lions).

Moss took four carries for 10 yards and caught one pass for a three-yard touchdown in Saturday's preseason game against Green Bay.

Devin Singletary got the start and most of the snaps on a lengthy opening drive, but he finished with no carries and two catches for only eight yards. Matt Breida also saw a little work with the first-team offense, and his 16-yard gain was the team's only chunk play in the running game before halftime. Moss figures to be part of a two- or even three-man committee to start the season, with Buffalo kicking things off against Pittsburgh in Week 1.

Mills rushed four times for 21 yards while catching four of four targets for 46 yards during Friday's preseason game against Indianapolis.

Mills finishes the exhibition slate with 62 rushing yards on 13 carries while catching seven of seven targets for another 53 yards. While this was a relatively strong finish to the preseason for the 24-year-old rookie, it's not certain that Detroit will carry four running backs on the final roster. If the team does, Godwin Igwebuike seems like the top candidate.

Singletary started Saturday's preseason game against Green Bay and caught both of his targets for eight yards.

Singletary caught a pass for one yard on the first snap of the game and appeared to get most of the playing time with the first-team offense, but he finished without any carries as the Bills unleashed QB Josh Allen for 26 pass attempts on three drives. Matt Breida and Zack Moss also got snaps while Allen was in the game, with the latter taking four carries for 10 yards and hauling in his lone target for a three-yard touchdown. Breida, meanwhile, finished with one carry for 16 yards and two catches for 10 yards, perhaps making his case for a small role behind Singletary/Moss. The muddled Buffalo backfield starts 2021 with a difficult matchup, hosting T.J. Watt and the Steelers.

Igwebuike rushed seven times for 25 yards and one touchdown during Friday's preseason loss to the Colts. He also gained 90 yards on three kickoff returns.

Continuing to improve as a running back after converting from safety this offseason, Igwebuike seems to be making a solid case for a potential No. 4 job at running back behind D'Andre Swift (groin), Jamaal Williams and Jermar Jefferson. It helps that he fared better as a kick returner than Craig Reynolds (24 yards on one return) did.

Reynolds rushed four times for nine yards while catching one pass for 10 yards during Friday's preseason game against the Colts. He also gained 24 yards on one kickoff return.

After rushing for 87 yards with two scores in the first two exhibition games, Reynolds had a quiet finish to the preseason as Jermar Jefferson and Godwin Igwebuike carried the load for Detroit at running back. Considering Igwebuike was also more productive than Reynolds at kick returner, Reynolds will be a surprise to make the roster, but he may have shown enough to earn a spot on the practice squad.

Gore took six carries for 26 yards and caught five passes for 80 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 28-26 preseason win over Minnesota.

With Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) and Darrel Williams (head) both unavailable, Jerick McKinnon got the start and the first three carries before sharing snaps with Darwin Thompson on the second drive. Gore then came in for the third drive with the second-string offense, but he ended up having the best night of the team's three healthy running backs, highlighted by a 56-yard TD on a screen pass in the third quarter. Even with the strong effort, Gore doesn't have good odds to make the Week 1 roster, though he could stick around if either Edwards-Helaire or Williams is in doubt for the season opener.

McFarland didn't travel with the team for Friday's preseason game against the Panthers due to an unspecified injury, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

McFarland was relatively inefficient in the Steelers' exhibition win over the Lions with six carries for 11 yards along with two receptions for 21 yards, and he remained in Pittsburgh for the preseason finale. Assuming the 2020 fourth-rounder remains on the roster to begin the regular season, it's not yet clear whether his injury will limit his availability for the team's Week 1 matchup against the Bills.

Hubbard rushed 10 times for 35 yards and caught three of four targets for 15 yards in Friday night's 34-9 preseason win over the Steelers.

Hubbard started at tailback and led the Panthers in touches, but a dropped pass put a small damper on his evening. The rookie endured a few miscues while also making a few big plays during the preseason, so consistency will be key as Hubbard prepares to serve as Christian McCaffrey's backup in the upcoming campaign.
