Hubbard rushed 10 times for 35 yards and caught three of four targets for 15 yards in Friday night's 34-9 preseason win over the Steelers.

Hubbard started at tailback and led the Panthers in touches, but a dropped pass put a small damper on his evening. The rookie endured a few miscues while also making a few big plays during the preseason, so consistency will be key as Hubbard prepares to serve as Christian McCaffrey's backup in the upcoming campaign.

Brown rushed 11 times for 57 yards and a touchdown in Friday night's 34-9 preseason win over the Steelers.

Brown entered the game behind Chuba Hubbard and impressed with his snaps, notably splitting two would-be tacklers en route to a 20-yard touchdown in the third quarter. With Reggie Bonnafon (undisclosed) and Rodney Smith (undisclosed) both sidelined this preseason, Brown has made a significant case to be named Carolina's third tailback, making his situation interesting to monitor prior to the team's final cuts.

Carter carried the ball seven times for 12 yards and caught his only target for seven yards in Friday's preseason tie against the Eagles.

With Tevin Coleman held out of the preseason finale and La'Mical Perine (foot) banged up, Carter and Ty Johnson split snaps in the backfield with the first-team offense. Johnson overshadowed the rookie however, as did Josh Adams, who didn't see the field until later in the first half. Carter had some buzz going earlier in training camp, but it looks like he'll open the regular season either third or fourth on the depth chart depending on Perine's health, and he will need to force his way into a more prominent role in what looks like a true backfield committee for the Jets.

Gainwell carried the ball five times for 32 yards and a touchdown and caught all four of his targets for 27 yards in Friday's preseason tie against the Jets.

Boston Scott played the first series of the night for the Eagles but then gave way to Gainwell, who capped the team's second drive with a TD plunge from the five-yard line. The 2021 fifth-round pick has looked good throughout camp and the preseason, but he seems stuck in the No. 3 spot on the depth chart behind Miles Sanders and Scott heading into Week 1 against Atlanta.

Scott gained four yards on his lone carry and caught both his targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in Friday's preseason tie against the Jets.

He played only one series for the Eagles, but Scott made it count as he capped the drive by taking a short pass from Joe Flacco all the way to the house for a 49-yard TD. The 26-year-old remains set in the No. 2 role on the depth chart behind Miles Sanders heading into Week 1 against Atlanta, but rookie Kenneth Gainwell has also looked good throughout the preseason and could put pressure on Scott for snaps and touches.

Williams (head) did not play in Friday night's 28-25 preseason win over the Vikings.

Williams was examined for a concussion during last Friday's exhibition outing, so it's not surprising to see him sit out this week's preseason finale. The veteran's status will have to be monitored in advance of Week 1's matchup versus the Browns, but once cleared, Williams profiles as a rugged backup to versatile starter Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

Thompson rushed three times for 11 yards and caught all three of his targets for 14 yards in Friday night's 28-25 preseason win over the Vikings.

Thompson entered the game behind Jerick McKinnon, who finished with five touches for 27 yards. Behind him, though, Derrick Gore ripped off 106 yards on his 11 touches, including a 56-yard touchdown catch. With that added twist to finish the preseason, it'll be very interesting to see who the Chiefs name their third tailback prior to Week 1's opener against the Browns.

McKinnon rushed four times for 23 yards and caught his only target for four yards in Friday night's 28-25 preseason win over the Vikings.

McKinnon started at running back but then alternated with Darwin Thompson and Derrick Gore before getting back in on Kansas City's fourth drive. Although Thompson was kept relatively quiet, Gore totaled 106 yards on his 11 touches, which included an electric 56-yard touchdown from a screen pass in the third quarter. As all three players hope to be named the Chiefs' third tailback behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Darrel Williams, it'll be interesting to see who wins the job ahead of Week 1's matchup versus the Browns.

Jefferson gained 43 yards on 11 carries while catching his only target for five yards in Friday's preseason loss to the Colts.

Getting the start for the Lions in their final tuneup before Week 1, Jefferson led the team in rushing yards and rushing attempts. D'Andre Swift (groin) and Jamaal Williams remain locked into the top two spots on the depth chart, but if Swift sees a limited workload in the opener against San Francisco, Jefferson could see enough touches to have some value in deep fantasy formats.

Snell carried the ball eight times for 28 yards and also recorded one reception on one target for four yards in Friday's preseason game against the Panthers.

Snell had not participated in any of the team's preseason contests to this point and also missed significant periods of practice due to a lower body injury. He was the first back on the field for Pittsburgh -- Najee Harris did not play -- and participated on offense at various points in every quarter. The highlight of Snell's performance came midway through the second quarter, when he ripped off a 17-yard run. Snell's inability to stay on the field during training camp has him on the roster bubble, though he could also enter the regular season as the primary backup to Harris.
