  • Ronnie Rivers RB | LAR

Ronnie Rivers: Back to Rams' practice squad

Rivers reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Rivers was elevated to the Rams' active roster for the second time this season and suited up after Jarquez Hunter (coach's decision) was made inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints. Rivers played just five snaps on special teams without showing up on the box score otherwise while the Rams stuck with their two-man backfield of Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. Rivers is eligible to be elevated from the practice squad one more time by the Rams this season.

  • Chargers' Jaret Patterson: Moves back to practice squad

Patterson reverted to the Chargers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Patterson was elevated for Sunday's Week 9 win over Tennessee and worked as Los Angeles' No. 2 running back (behind Kimani Vidal), logging 18 of 65 offensive snaps. Patterson ended up out-producing Vidal despite the relatively small snap share, tallying 44 yards on nine carries (to Vidal's 30 yards on 12 rushes). Patterson's presence became a necessity with all of Omarion Hampton (ankle), Hassan Haskins (hamstring) and Najee Harris (Achilles) on IR. Vidal currently is the only healthy running back on the Chargers' 53-man roster, so it would be surprising if Patterson isn't elevated again (or signed to the active roster) ahead of Sunday's Week 10 matchup against Pittsburgh.

  • Amar Johnson RB | LAC

Amar Johnson: Reverts to Bolts' practice squad

Johnson reverted to the Chargers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

With Hassan Haskins (hamstring) placed on injured reserve Saturday, Johnson and fellow practice squad running back Jaret Patterson were both elevated to the active roster for the Chargers' Week 9 win over the Titans to provide backfield depth behind Kimani Vidal. It was Patterson (nine carries for 44 yards) who ended up serving in a complementary role to Vidal (12 carries for 30 yards), while Johnson saw the field for just three snaps on special teams without showing up on the box score otherwise. With Haskins, Omarion Hampton (ankle) and Najee Harris (Achilles) all on injured reserve, Johnson and Patterson could both be called up from the practice squad and suit up for the Chargers' Week 10 clash against Steelers this Sunday.

  • Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Placed back on practice squad

The Chiefs reverted Edwards-Helaire to their practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Edwards-Helaire saw his first action of the season Sunday against Buffalo and logged two offensive snaps, carrying twice for five yards in the second quarter. That made him a distant third in Kansas City's running back pecking order behind Kareem Hunt (47 offensive snaps) and Brashard Smith (12). The team's No. 1 tailback, Isiah Pacheco (knee), was unable to suit up Sunday, and with Pacheco expected to return in Week 11 following the team's Week 10 bye, Edwards-Helaire may have to wait a while before being elevated again.

  • Brittain Brown RB | CHI

Bears' Brittain Brown: Reverts to practice squad

The Bears reverted Brown to their practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Brown got his first elevation of the season for this past Sunday's win over Cincinnati and finished with five carries for 37 yards and his first career NFL touchdown while logging 14 of 80 offensive snaps. He also returned one kick for 23 yards. His opportunity came as a result of both D'Andre Swift (groin) and Roschon Johnson (back) being unable to suit up for the contest. If both of those players are inactive in Week 10 against the Giants, Brown will likely be elevated again.

  • Ameer Abdullah RB | IND

Colts' Ameer Abdullah: Minimal role in loss

Abdullah had one carry for three yards and one reception for two yards on his only target in Sunday's loss at Pittsburgh.

Abdullah played five snaps on offense while Tyler Goodson played a season-high 10 snaps with the Colts trailing most of the game (as Goodson is usually seen as the better receiver). However, the Colts didn't turn to a pass-catching running back as they have in the past -- Jonathan Taylor stayed in the game and played on 62 of the offense's 79 snaps. As long as Taylor is healthy, it looks the other running backs will have very minor roles even if the Colts are forced throw the ball.

  • Tyler Goodson RB | ATL

Colts' Tyler Goodson: Has one reception in loss

Goodson had one reception for eight yards on two targets in Sunday's loss at Pittsburgh.

Goodson played a season-high 10 snaps on offense with the Colts trailing most of the game. However, the Colts didn't turn to a pass-catching running back as they have in the past as Jonathan Taylor stayed in the game and played on 62 of the offense's 79 snaps. Ameer Abdullah played on five snaps and had one carry and one reception. As long as Taylor is healthy, it looks the other running backs will have very minor roles even if the Colts are forced throw the ball.

  • Malik Davis RB | DAL

Cowboys' Malik Davis: Active Monday while Blue isn't

Davis is active but fellow RB Jaydon Blue (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's game against the Cardinals.

Davis was signed from the practice squad to the active roster Monday, and now he and Hunter Luepke will be the options at running back behind starter Javonte Williams. Blue lost a fumble during the Cowboys' Week 8 loss at Denver, so this move appears to be related to performance. In any case, Davis has just two carries for three yards in two previous appearances this season, and he's unlikely to carve too much into Williams' workhorse role Week 9.

  • Jaydon Blue RB | DAL

Cowboys' Jaydon Blue: Inactive in Week 9

Blue (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Monday against the Cardinals.

Blue committed a fumble during a Week 8 loss in Denver, after which coach Brian Schottenheimer told Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that players "can't put the ball on the ground." The Cowboys then signed Malik Davis from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of Monday's game. indicating a change at the No. 2 RB spot may be possible. With Blue officially in street clothes Week 9, Davis will serve as the primary backup to starter Javonte Williams.

  • Packers' Chris Brooks: Corrals two passes

Brooks was targeted twice and had two receptions for 24 yards in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Panthers.

Brooks played 11 snaps in Week 9 -- the most he has recorded in a game since Week 2 -- and got a couple touches, but it was still only the second time all season he finished with more than one. He remains the third running back on the depth chart for the Packers.
