  • Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Strong all-around showing in loss

Taylor rushed 16 times for 70 yards and a touchdown and secured three of four targets for 52 yards in the Colts' 34-31 overtime loss to the Titans on Sunday. He also fell on a Carson Wentz fumble.

Taylor once again saw his carries capped firmly under 20, but he was efficient with his opportunities and topped off his overall production with a game-tying one-yard touchdown run with 22 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime. His receiving yardage tally was his second highest of the season, and he's now encouragingly supplemented his strong production on the ground with a quartet of three-catch totals in the last four games. Taylor will next look to exploit a vulnerable Jets defense in a Week 9 Thursday night home date.

  • Najee Harris RB | LAC

Steelers' Najee Harris: Totals 120 yards in win

Harris had 26 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for 29 yards during Sunday's 15-10 win at Cleveland.

The rookie first-round pick continues to be a workhorse back for Pittsburgh, and he has at least 21 touches in each of the past five games. Harris has 622 yards from scrimmage and four scores during that span, and he should continue to power the Steelers' offense Week 9 against the Bears.

  • Jaguars' James Robinson: Injures ankle Sunday

Robinson was forced out of Sunday's game against the Seahawks with an ankle injury.

Prior to his exit from the contest, Robinson had carried four times for 22 yards and caught one of his two targets for 17 yards. Carlos Hyde is next up for Jacksonville's carries while Robinson is sidelined.

  • 49ers' Elijah Mitchell: Runs wild on Chicago

Mitchell rushed 18 times for 137 yards and was not targeted in the passing game in Sunday's 33-22 win over Chicago.

Mitchell dominated the backfield touches (18 of 21) for the second consecutive week since returning from injured reserve, cementing his role as the 49ers' lead back going forward. It was the rookie sixth-rounder's third game with both 100-plus yards and a touchdown in five starts this year. Mitchell has elevated himself into must-start territory heading into a matchup against the Cardinals in Week 9.

  • D'Andre Swift RB | CHI

Lions' D'Andre Swift: Held in check

Swift carried 12 times for 27 yards while fumbling once and securing five of five targets for 24 yards during Sunday's 44-6 loss to Philadelphia.

With Jamaal Williams (groin) sidelined, Swift commanded over 90 percent of the snaps at running back until Detroit finally gave up in the fourth quarter. Despite the massive workload, Swift was unable to overcome the general deficiencies of a Lions offense that didn't put up any points until backup running back Jermar Jefferson found the end zone in the final minutes of regulation. It didn't help that, earlier in the game, Swift lost a fumble that was ultimately returned by the Eagles for a touchdown. However, despite the disappointing performance, there's no questioning the fact that Swift and tight end T.J. Hockenson are the focal points of the offense. The running back should have a solid chance at a rebound performance against Pittsburgh in Week 10 even if Williams returns to the field by then.

  • Khalil Herbert RB | NYJ

Bears' Khalil Herbert: Receives 25 touches in loss

Herbert rushed 23 times for 72 yards and caught two passes for minus-4 yards in the Bears' 33-22 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

Herbert started out strong, but the 49ers started to load the box, which bottled him up the rest of the way. He's now handled at least 21 touches in each of his last three games, and he'll remain a strong fantasy option until David Montgomery (knee) returns. At that juncture, it will be interesting to see what Herbert's role evolves into.

  • Ameer Abdullah RB | JAC

Panthers' Ameer Abdullah: Gets involved Sunday

Abdullah rushed eight times for 31 yards and caught three of five targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 19-13 win over the Falcons.

Abdullah only signed with Carolina last week but already played a meaningful role in Sunday's win. Only starting tailback Chuba Hubbard garnered more carries, while only top wideout DJ Moore was ahead of him in receiving. Although the versatile veteran did well in his debut, the potential return of superstar Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) in Week 9 versus the Patriots could immediately reduce Abdullah's role, making the Panthers' backfield situation worth monitoring.

  • Chuba Hubbard RB | CAR

Panthers' Chuba Hubbard: Gets 25 touches

Hubbard rushed 24 times for 82 yards and a touchdown but lost a fumble in Sunday's 19-13 win over the Falcons. He also caught one of two targets for nine yards.

Hubbard coughed it up on Carolina's first offensive play but proceeded to garner his second-highest touch total of the season. That came despite recent addition Ameer Abdullah totaling 66 yards on his 11 touches and fellow tailback Royce Freeman getting the ball six times as well. Although Hubbard wasn't particularly efficient on the ground, his six-yard touchdown during the fourth quarter helped the Panthers snap their four-game losing streak. Next up is a matchup against the Patriots in Week 9, but with star Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) reportedly on track to return for that game, Hubbard may see his workload cut significantly going forward.

  • Buccaneers' Ke'Shawn Vaughn: Healthy scratch Sunday

Vaughn (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.

The Buccaneers have their full stable of backs for this one, and Vaughn is the odd man out. Apparently, they are set on special teams as well.

  • Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Back in action Sunday

Stevenson is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

With Stevenson back in the mix to work along with Brandon Bolden behind lead back Damien Harris, the Patriots made J.J. Taylor inactive for the contest. As long as Harris remains healthy, however, steady backfield touches may be difficult to come by for Stevenson.
